Thread: Defending my Proffesion
This person's reasoning doesn't make sense. They are too busy to actually play the game in the manner by which the developers intended, yet they feel as if they need to somehow influence the game world. Seems to me they were trying to shame you into doing something that they have no right to have.
I always have a theory about we entertainers, and it is this: "you win more with carbosyrup than sarlacc bile." Where in the rulebook does it say that everybody has an expressed right to join a group? No no no NO! Joining a group is a priveledge, which is why I was always very hospitable to any group that wanted me. They certainly could go on without me, and you do not HAVE to join a group to get skill levels in music and dance. It only takes longer. Then again, online time has no value or meaning to these bots, and quite frankly, people do not either. This person probibly thought you were a loon for even being an entertainer in the first place, and looks at everyone in your group not as people, but as an XP farm. Its what happens when "non-play" is a valid playstyle. Real people seem to get treated as broken machines when they don't do exactly what other players want them to.
And when this person gains the master title and starts logging on at server reboot only to macro perpetually from dawn to dusk giving out free BF healing, mind wound healing, buffs, and spam in her taped up +25 hot panty, you think she's gonna waste a group space on one of you? Guess again. You did the RIGHT thing by managing your group the way you see fit. If they do not like your reasons? There are always other cantinas.

Shut your pie hole and let her/people play the game they want to and stop trying to dictate what's ok and what's not. Yes he can is the answer and if he is the group leader he can choose who gets in the group. Its not her god given right to join the group in bestine and go afk, period.

It is frowned upon to be in a group supporting afk'rs as part of our bands rules. If you don't like it and it makes you this pissed then farking leave the game cause your taking it too seriously. The only one who's trying to be an e-tough guy is you but instead you make yourself look the fool... next time try to bring some weight to your argument cause your flames are weak and have no meat.

We are sick and tired of having to kowtow to every demand that is made to us simply because somebody makes it. A group leader has the priveledge of inviting whomever they want for whatever reasons. Would you invite aneutral faction member in a faction group? Or a novice person with a D-18 in a high level Dathomir group? The reasons the player wants to are the same: They want the benefits of the group membership. However, would it be prudent to allow such a player that cannot contribute constructively to the purposes of the group?
And then what if they say, "I'm not going to waste time hunting durnis and wookiee brawlers all day! I have a wife and children and a job I need to go on! I have better things to do than get XP and faction on Corellia! I hate you!" Wouldn't you feel that this person was behaving irrationally and wanting something from you that was unreasonable? Maybe. But you always have the option to invite or not, depending on your puropses at the moment. Give entertainment leaders the same priveledge.
I agree that if you are the leader of a group it is your perrogative to invite people and lead the group as you see fit. If you are doing a poor job, the members will leave and start a new group.
No one has the right to demand they be invited to a group. I agree that it is a privilege.
Nothing new, just reinforcing the actions.

And AFKers are just those who are to lazy/incompetent to play this game. Or something of that sort.....

so... because you dont have time to be there... you suddenly need to go /afk and macrotain all day... if you dont have time to be there, why the hell are you even playing this game?
i couldnt agree more, dont even bother with that /invite.
