TH- As one of your biggest critics on this thread, I wouldlike to make sure to point out that your attention IS apreciated. Thank you for stopping by to at least note that we exist. I would like to ask that you come back soon with at least something along the lines of "i'll be back X[date] to give ya some updates as to what we plan or when we plan to focus on this class" Meanwhile thanks for at least posting something.

To the rest of the classes that decided to post here about unrelated items: YOU HAVE LIKE 90 BILLION OTHER THREADS..... GO POST THERE......This is the first time a Red name has ever apeared in this thread since launch that I know of. Why do you have to follow over here? You have your own forums.... go there.

I have certainly posted these things a few times before. But sure... I will post them again in the hopes that someone might impliment one or more of them.

Suggestions:

  • Skill Enhancing Attachments (SEAs): I would like to see the interface for this cleaned up. Perhaps a new item on the raidal menu that opens the item's properties similar to a crafting window. You can drag SEAs into the slot and see what it will look like BEFORE you commit the change. Then you can commit those changes or back out. This way, you can sort of expirament with various layouts of upgrades in an effort to make a better enhanced item. Not sure if you can still enhance packs (even though they have the slots) but it would certainly help with that also.

  • Dodge. Right now Dodge hurts you when you are fleeing. It makes you take a step the the side which in effect stops you and allows your persuer to close. When moving, dodge needs to be a dive roll or duck, or other animation that will not hinder your movement and allow your enemy to close.
  • Buff Interface: The various buff icons need to be color coded at least to what groups of stats they are buffing. The also need to allow you to show the countdown timers without having to "mouse-over" them. We should be able to click on a buff and "cancel" it (unless it is a food or spice buff which is sort of a tradeoff in it working and how long it lasts).
  • Travel Ticketing: I find travel ticketing very annoying. I often buy a ticket and then change my mind and go elsewhere. Now I have this sometimes expensive ticket sitting in my inventory taking up space. I would like tickets to go into the databad (e-ticketing) and also allow us to sell them back to the Galactic Travel Commision for a refund.
  • Crates and Stacking: Anything with the same serial should allow us to Stack it. If it would be more applicable, it should stack and create a factory crate. This would save on inventory space and allow us to re-stack items and make better use of our inventory space and conceivably, your database space. In either case, crates should allow us to recombine if we can split the crate.
  • Travel wait times: I don't want instant travel, even as much as it would be handy. In the interest of some level of realism, the wait is welcome. However, waiting up to 10 minutes for the shuttle can be tiresome. I know we can set an alarm and come back later, but in some cases, we have nothing we would rather do but get to our destination. I would like to shorten the wait times to 5-6 minutes at a maximum. I figure with a 2 min shuttle availability (a number I am guessing at) and up to 5 or 6 min wait time, the same function will be there with less "dead" time. (Coming soon - THANKS!)
  • Travel timers needed: We have wonderfully detaild and rich graphics in the world. Why not turn some of that into an interacive or dynamic affair. Like a timer display outside and inside the starport with the time until the next shuttle is set to arrive and depart. It would add a lot of immersiveness and be a great way to see when the next shuttle is due rather than hunt for the ticket droid in an often crowded starport. Plus, we could wait in the waiting area, as opposed to out where the shuttle lands. A nice touch I think.
  • Bazaar and the Yellow pages: The bazaar is great. However, we need to put the emphasis back on the player merchant. But it is simply impracticle to have to fly all over the galaxy, visit the thousands of vendors in hundreds of cities often to be met my a vendor that is not stocked. Encourage competitive pricing and help fight inflation by having a system by which ALL shops items are listed centrally with all costs and associated information. We can shop centrally, a-la-internet, and be able to find the things we need at a reasonable price.
  • Bazaar and Vendor Listings: Please allow the formatof the bazaar and vendor listings to remain saved. Column withs, etc. Where items are listed in stacks, (resources and crates) please add a column for "cost per unit". This will help the customer better judge the value of the item they wish to purchase. Likewise, give the seller the ability to enter prices per unit and then display the appropriate total cost on the item.

There you have it.

/holds breath until they are implimented.

So I was grinding through unarmed, trying to get my newly created Brawler up to Teras Kasi, listening to Pink Floyd, and thinking deeply as I often do, when I noticed something when I bought my ticket to Coronet. It said that I had sent 123 credits to The Galactic transportation system or something like that. This is when the idea struck. Does all of this money go somewhere? And if so, wouldn't it be cool if you could rob this place? Just imagine gathering up the best of the best in smugglers, Bounty Hunters, and other professions that could pose for crime like people, and trying to pull off an EXTREMELY hard robbery on this bank where Thousands go each day from people purchasing tickets.

Of course this would onlywork if it was very difficult and maybe only a certain number of people could try and only ever so often.

What do you think?

here is a small one. I was out doing thempark missions and I had to deliver a datapad document to a pilot to get off the planet in a hurry. I went to him and delivered the document and he said thanks and he would get it off imidiately. he then sttod there till he vanished and I went back and got my reward. how about when you deliver it to him he is waiting next to a ship then jumps in and takes off. Much more fun to see.

Live event opportunities that I think of are as follows:

Concerts at Jabba's! That would require everyone attending to have passed the themepark, but such is the burden of great entertainment. Perhaps a standing monthly or bi-monthly (as in every 2 months) party at Jabba's. Perhaps with a digiteer for Bobba and Oola? We want to play with Max Rebo!

Same event as above, but at Verni Island.

Some content that would help me greatly in planning and executing my own live event opportunities would be a method of live, in-game advertising for the 2 hours prior to the event. The forums have only limited readership and I find that even while crossposting on Dancer, Musician, Entertainer, and my galaxy forum, I only get 2 or 3 replys. Another game mechanic that would help me as a bandleader would be a /bandlight command such as /bandcolorlights or /bandcolorlights traz;/bandspot nala etc. etc. Running my lightcues by hand currently requires sending a page of aliases to people and explaining to them how to set up their toolbar; imagine trying to do this in text for 10-20 people in your band just to get ready for one 30min. performance. My degree is not in tech writing and sometimes it becomes confusing for me as well as my band members.

Those two items would help ease my event planning and let me focus my time on the equally difficult task of advertising to a target audience.

Anyone who thinks SWG music should all sound similar to something heard in the movies, has absolutly no vision. Music is limited to a few styles in a galaxy with how many planets?! Look at our planet and how many different music styles it has, also if you were narrow enough to only want to play Star War's type music, there would be plenty of midi's to use that was Real star war's music. Not the chopped up stuff you hear ingame.

And could we -please- keep the posts on topic? People yammering on about jedi's, etc. Should do so in there own forum.

I would like to see craftable paintings in the game, taken from player screenshots. You could have a painting of your home planet, your spouse, a cool monster, or whatnot.

Whoops, didn't realize this was in Musician...hmmm....musician ideas....definitely the ability to make up tunes, by entering the notes, either via command line, or a dumbed-down musical staff interface. I think that'd be way cool, and would open up the way for good musicians to really be in demand.

Things that I would implement.

Change the language skills so that

when you hear someone speak an alternativelanguage you get +1 to the skill.

every hour played ( Real World hours) you get -10 to that language skill

Smugglers get thier bonus. still and training can give you a quick hit of skill points.

But the more you interact with player characters the more you understand and eventually can speak.

Ie..

I spend a load of time around coronet starport, I'm going to learn lots of languages and at least understand most of the languages in the game, but if I spend a few days out in the wilds somewhere, when I get back to the city it's going to take a while to get used to the different languages again.

Have multi stage missions, like the current mission terminals..

Mission 1 would tell you to go kill a wookie brawler camp on tatooine.

When you destroy the camp, you get another mission generated with a slight dificulty increase.

Mission 3. would be for a lot more money but on a different planet, that would be 2x the price of the shuttle fare + the mission cash. ( or generate a ticket )

Mission 4. would be a location to a shuttle parked in the wilds somewhere that would whisk you off to a spot on one of the advanced planets. and a final mission for a substantial reward.

As only one mission would be done by a group at a time the payout needs to be enough at the end to allow everyone to get a suficient split of the cash.

Have player bounty hunter missions.

Similar to the step process, above. but involve player cantinas / npc cantinas

...

The Player taking the mission (mark) would generate a single bounty hunter mission (hunter).

When the mark access a vendor / npc the hunter would get a current update of the mark.

Example.

Mark : Mos Eisley Hunter : Kor vella

Mark: Gets a mission and is told to talk to an npc in theed cantina

Hunter: talks to a spynet op, and is told that the marks last know location was. Mos Eisley.

Mark: Buys a ticket to theed from Mos eisley starport

Hunter : talks to a slicer in the closest starport to find out where the mark is going.. slicer says naboo.

Mark: clicks on the ticket droid, and is told 4mins remaining

Hunter: talks to the slicer again, this time the slicer says Theed Naboo.

Mark: gets to theed and picks up the wp of the npc that they have to see.

Hunter: talks to an npc outside the starport and is told that they are going to the cantina. ( which one is not disclosed )

At this point the mark and hunter hop around 3 or 4 cities, eventually arriving at a public place where either

a. Mark completes the mission and is paid 2x the mission price. and the Hunter gets the mission cost.

b. Hunter kills the mark and gets 2x the mission price. and the mark just gets half the mission cost.

If the Mark is constantly loosing missions ( to avoid abuse ) they are not allowed to take this type of mission again until they do4x the payoff of normal missions.

So.. Payoff = 39k ( 15k travel costs )

Mark Wins = 72kcr bh gets 39k

Bh Wins = 72kcr, mark gets 19k and cannot repeat one of these missions till they earn 156k in normal missions.

//// Things that would improve atmosphere.

When in the status of AFK.. no spatial chat is allowed, so no macro /say /yell /shout etc would be displayed.

only when the player is not afk would spatial work.

NPC Stormtroopers (Corsec / Rebel Troops depending on city faction) , patrol infront of starports / shuttleports and "Move along!"characters that are there for a long time. each time the npc stops and asks you to "move along" you get 1pt added to your total.. when the total passes 10 or 20.. you are attackable by that npc only ( not a tef, just usuall npc agro). either you get killed or transported to some sort of holding cell building where you have to pay a fine to get out of. Entering buildings / leaving the city would reset the counter. You don't get exp for killing these special npcs' and they would have incredibly high ham's so that they wouldn't be soloable. Another alternative would be to generate a low paid bountyhunter mission to get rid of the offending citizen.
