Incidentally, now's the time to give feedback if you want the numbers changed, since it's still all on TC. The feedback thread in my original post is a good place to do that. I'll also be reporting feedback from what I see here.
And remember that things on TC are of course subject to change, so the 10% number and the other numbers are not set in stone or anything.
I am not a musician or entertainer in any other way so pardon me for intruding upon your forum
However I need to voice my consern about the current buffs on the TC and seeing musicians are the ones that will be providing my profession with these buffs (and seing I was told on thte dancer forum that this was the right place to be
) Im am doing it here ![]()
Let me start off by saying that I truly believe that you guys need something worthwhile and let me add that I wouldnt mind having to find a musician everytime I need to start crafting (provided of course that the buff last longer than a single weapon craft
, but the resource buffs are very damaging to my profession as a WS.
When I started out I picked WS mainly because of the enourmous resource requirements because I knew that is would keep me interested in the game for a very long time.
I love getting ingame and realizing a new spawn of some good resource has just arrived. (as an example a new reosurce just spawned yesterday which gavemy Elite carbines +1 min dam and +1 max dam and Im over the moon) .
Most of my resources are in the 92%-100% range meaning that if the resource buff goes through I have efficiently reached the end of the road as far as improvement goes.
As a crafter I play to improve upon my product and to stick out. My main goal has never been to be high volume, bu to have costumers coming back to me and congratulating me on my quality.
I have collected resources for 1½ year, perhaps more and the possibility of constantly improving is what drives me in my profession.
If the resource buff makes it to like the WS Crafting will grow stagnant and would be a very very sad thing should it happen.
I Aint trying to take your usabilty away from you and I certainly aint trying to create hostility between our professions as in my opinion we should all stand together to improve this game.
What I would like to see is:
- Either remove this buff and make the others more usefull. Believe me if I could get just one more amazing succes from getting a musician buff I would never craft without it (as I said I want to improve at all times
) - Make the 10% buff happend at assembly so if I would normaly have stats at 29% on assembly I would now have 39% Granted this would make capping weapons easier aswell and I wouldnt be overjoyed with this either, but at least it wouldnt render resources useless and I could still improve on the upper stats of my weapons.
I hope You guys will take this concern into consideration when you bring feedback to the devs
again sorry for bringing negativity to the Musician forum, but this change really needs to be reevaluated

Change the resource buff to reduce schematics complexity by 10% instead, this will make all the crafters happy since factory times are reduced. It takes about 3,5 days to make a full run som medical sub components for an example, 10% on this will be enough for people to want to see an entertainer for the buff.. ^_^
Oh yeah this is a good idea aswell
I'm really liking the look of some of those new buffs, but I wish the Image Designer one increased the duration of a HoloEmote rather than just the number of charges. That would be MUCH more desirable, imo...

Its called balance.
I personally believe a Jedi should be equal to any other combat template out there.
According to the Devs currently Jedi are supposed to be 1.5 times more powerful than the normal combat classes.
Alot of new Jedi who do not have access to pearls and crystals that no longer drop beg to differ on that 1.5 assesment.
Most Jedi do not want to change the status they feel they deserve.
They are not backing out of any arrangement, its being forced upon them by the Devs.
They went from Total gods the day the first Jedi unlocked to now being on par with some lvl 80 BH combos
An entertainer buff that allows every BH on the server to wear the best armor available and use the best weapon available means you have a class that is more powerful than New lvl 80 Jedi who have crappy sabers.
Dose of reality for you.. Armor and Weapons still have caps. No crafting buff will ever allow caps to be exceeded. What this resource buff does is homogienize everything and devalue the efforts of long term crafters.
Jedi are not a crafting profession. End of argument. You cannot have everything.
I would far prefer a repair success buff, something we are seriously lacking in this game. This resource buff is just a very poorly thought out idea.

Red-Dwarf or one of the other TCers, think you can provide a littleinfo towards this question? (Posted in SW forum, same question as above)
Good news...
Following is test results (feel free to cross post these to other forums you visit, I will be posting this in Dancer and Musician threads):
Crafted an Armour Reinforcement Panel mark 1 using some sweet Duralloy I have for special occasions and a fairly nice bicorb steel currently in spawn on TC. Relevant stats are the duralloy OQ 921 and UT 998 and the bicorb OQ 923 UT 456. The crafting formula for unbuffed experimenting on mass gives:
(921*.75+923*.25)*.25+(998*.75+456*.25)*.75=877
This tallies with me experimenting and reaching 87%
Now the two theories are whether the stat caps are set at 1000 or whether the experimentation caps at 100%.
under the first theory the formula would be:
(1000*.75+1000*.25)*.25+(1000*.75+501*.25)*.75=906
Under the second theory the formula would be:
(1013*.75+1015*.25)*.25+(1097*.75+501*.25)*.75=964
Now, I experimented - and the cap was
...pause for drum roll.....
96%!!!!
The resources are NOT stat capped at 1000, the cap comes in if you hit 100% experiment, so the only resources that are affected are those where all relevant stats are over 910, in those cases they will hit 100%, but all other resources will be getting a benefit.
That is good news, which seems to be getting ignored. This does however mean, like you said, that all 910 qualities could equal the outcome of better resources. Perhaps 10% is too much, but I don't think it is as destructive as many people are making it out to be. I think it should be a +n amount added to resoruces rather than a %.
um look harder. this is bad news. it just means its easier to hit the 100 percent experimentation cap. you dont even need 910 resources.
if you have a 980 and an 880 you will still hit 100 percent because the 980 will buff up over 1000 and cover the 880 so to speak.
The resource buff is going to negatively impact the game, the proof is in the math.
As a long time armorsmith on chilastra, im going to add my 2 cents if you dont mind.
I agree with all the other posters, that musicians and dancers are an intrigate part of this game. They are a valued group of people that ive come to admire greatly.
However, the resource buff that is being proposed will ultimately kill the crafting community. Most human beings need a challenge to keep them interested in doing something. There must be a visible gain for them. If all of us are able to obtain perfect armors everytime, then that craft or trade becomes boring and people moved on. When the cu hit, we saw the crafting community take a massive hit. We went from 30 to 40 named armorsmiths on chilastra to around 10. Now its just starting to pick back up and they introduce this, which will inturn dumb down the profession even more than it already has been.
I can tell you without a doubt, that with this buff I can hit the cap on layered armors everytime with this buff. can you imagine 8200 kin armors running around for assault? its gonna happen, more than you would think.
I'd like to thank all you entertainers for your cooperation, when we speak of one voice, we can reach something.

The devs have decided to reduce the resource quality buff to 1% for the "General" inspiration and 2% for the other crafting inspirations. This should be on TC soon.
Now that the resource buff is balanced, they should switch it from profession based to skill based. That way a crafter would have to choose between a resource buff, an xp buff, an experimentation buff, of an assembly buff. That would allow a crafter to get the specific buff needed to give him an advantage in the exact thing he is doing (grinding, hand crafting, making a factory schem, etc). It's no longer an everything buff that makes it necessary, but instead it is something the crafter would WANT to choose. I would like to choose stategically what buff to get and it's still small enough (since it only buffs one thing), that I don't have to worry about entephobe crafterscomplaining about socializing with people in the game.
