I would definitelybe interested in helping out as the Musician Correspondent. I've been a Musician since virtually the beginning. Its a large part of my gaming on the Corbantis server. I've done what I can on my own, working with what I have to make the entertainer professions better for everyone both the players and the audience.

I would love to take the opportunity to help work as the bridge between the devs and the players in making the entertainer professions, Musician in particular, one of the best profession features Star Wars Galaxies has to offer. It is a profession unique to this game alone to my knowledge.

Just as I say to my clients on Corbantis.... "I'm at your service."

you have my vote on this one Jon

Since when is the appointment of correspondents a popularity contest among those who do not frequent the forum in question (and furthermore may not play the profession in question)?

I vote for Jon_Ari of course, and no i'm not just saying this cause i'm on Corbantis too. Highlighted by previous examples of his dedication to the work, and entertainment of others in events such as the Corbantis Christmas Bash and the Cresent City one recently, i feel he would be a geat Correspondent. The time he puts into helping with the events and organising it all is unmatched by any other on our server. He's a very nice guy and always keeps his cool so everything runs smoothly.

My 2 pence

There is no need of this fight guys. It's not a competition nor a contest. It's a position for a profession correspondant that will be able to dedicate himself to all the player that bring their issue over the forum, as well as all that you can see as an issue inside the game as a musician concerning musician. That is far from doing ingame event here. And then even if it would go down to a popularity contest, that would be unfare as you can get a whole guild to vote for you and still be the one that will do the ugliest job as a correspondant.

We should all keep this civilized and wait for SOE to review every application and take a decision. No battle have to take place here, we should all be thankfull for what NewJedi done for the musician profession while he was correspondant and try to do our best while there is not really someone up there to keep this forum like NewJedi kept it for so many time.

Cheer for everyone, be happy for everyone so that way the new correspondant won't feel liek a burden to the community because of this show of popularity post.

Well, in yet another reconsideration of applying, I decided that I'd like to help Musician be all that it should be in this game.

So I applied. It was late in the game, so who knows if I make it. But I felt that I've contributed enough around here to be a candidate.

If chosen, I'm sure that if work gets a little crazy, you'll be patient with me.

Thanks everyone for helping me to finally come to a decision to apply, and good luck to all. Application sent.

I think there's a need for a discussion of how well a possible musician correspondent will interact with Musicians when he encourages his non-musician guildmates to come and spam the Musician forum and denigrate the forum community.
Apart from this astroturfing, I have nothing against Jon-Ari, because I know nothing about him. If he doesn't post here, how can I know how well he'll represent my concerns to the devs?

I'm sure it was done without any negative intentions.

Anyone is free to voice support for anyone, however such support isn't so much of a factor in the Dev's choice.

We should have a decision sometime soon. Then this will all be moot. It's all good.

Item of business #1 Welcome back to the field, Warryyr!

Item of business #2 Just a bit of research and good news:

This all should be over soon! A bit of research shows that since Tiggs has been postingthe minimum wait on a new Correspondent has been postinghas been two days, and while the maximum has been 21 days (a record held by the Pistoleers)the average time seems to be one week with most professions hearing back within 10 days.

/luck to all

Shorrim, allow me to repeat my earlier post in thissame thread:
"I believe you have the wrong impression. Corbantis is simply showing our support for a member that has provided countless hours of professional service and genuine congeniality. Irregardless of the position requirements, I am sure many individuals applying are aptly qualified. Perhaps examining Buckman's post again, you will understandthe validity behind ouradmiration for Jon-Ari."

We have simply come here on our own behalf to generate support for an individual of whom Corbantis believes is well deserving of the position. Would the reaction and retorts have been any different if several of the other servers did the same? More specifically, your server? Take a minute to think before you leap....

Although I very much do not wish to encourage continued discourse over all of this (as I've said, it's all been blown out of proportion at this point), I wish to disagree with the first comment you made when you said Jon-Ari never asked to have folks post in here ("never was this asked by him"). That very statement is made in this thread on the Corbantis server forum. I am NOT, I repeat, NOT vouching for anything else in Shorrim's post, I am merely stated that Jon-Ari did, in fact, ask to have folks post in here to show their support. It is the fourth line in that post. I am only posting this to inform you, as you implied Jon-Ari never asked to have people post here, when in fact his post does just that. This is only to provide you this link, should you not have seen it. You posted in the thread, so you have seen it, but I just wanted to clarify this point. The rest of your reply is between you and Shorrim.

Again, I want to reiterate my best wishes and best of luck to all candidates, and I remain confident the Devs will select a Correspondent who will represent us as we deserve to be represented.
