By your logic, a Master Dancer should not be able to do every dance. it's not practical. But they can. The dances a Master Entertainer gets are not unique: they're simply minor variations on existing dances that the Master Dancer already possesses. Also by your logic, a Master Image Designer should not be able to completely re-work every aspect of a character's appearance. It's not practical. But they can.Yep, none of this is really practical. It would seem that the dev's had nothing worth while to put in the master entertainer box, so they threw in the song and instrument at the last minute. In the sense that master id's and master dancers have nothing to gain by getting ME, you right, musicians are getting the shaft. Can't be fair to everyone. But, this is a game and it should be more balanced. It would seem they need to rework master entertainer big time.
Only the Musician who skips ME is penalized by not having access to every different "form" of their art. How is a Master Musician penalized? Because only they out of the three entertainer branches MUST become a Master Entertainer to be able to enjoy all the different forms of their chosen art. Image Designers don't have to. Dancers don't have to. Only Master Musicians do. THAT is a handicap that only one third of the entertainer types must suffer. And that is not right.
True, Image Designers and Dancers do not get anything extra for becoming a ME. But they also do not have to GIVE UP a premier part of their class for NOT being one. And speaking personally, if it comes to a choice of nothing extra over losing something, I'll choose nothing extra.
Give the ME a mandoviol by all means, but do not prevent the Master Musician from having a similar-sounding instrument far down the road without needing to sink skill points into dancing, image design and the ME box if they do not wish to. Make it fair for all three branches of the entertainer profession instead of taking something unique from only ONE just to make ME "special". And until this is rectified so that either all or none of the three branches of entertainer have to give up something unique to the ME box, you and I will have to agree to differ.
