You don't have stop posting here, we really do welcome everyone (Ok almost everyone ), we just have some very specific issues that need to be dealt with to help our professions survive and the buff bot macro, just to put it mildly, pours salt into an already open wound. I mentioned it in the other thread, but if you are every around Bestine around 7-11ish pm central time, give me a holler. I practicly live in the Bestine Cantina ( Closest to the Starport, not the "other" one ) and you are always welcome to come see me, and I will even throw in a free focus/will buff

You have a good one too....

Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Man,some of you entertainershave becomean angry lot.

Manyof you did bring up some reallyexcellent points (like the existence of an entertainer channel - which I intend to use from now on to locateATK buffers), but I have to say that the general tone ofthe posts was quite a turn off. Many of you seem to hold all thecombat professions in total contempt, but then complain in the next breaththat none of the other professions respect or appreciate you. I can see why JohnnieReb felt like he had no business postingon this board, the general tone isvery unfriendly towards non-entertainers.

Obviously you are very much against the buffbot macro and have very valid reasons why, but your point gets lost when you attack people the way some of you havedone. If you disagree with the subject matter, there's absolutely nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, but you turn off the very people you are trying to reach when yourespond with such a visceral reaction.

Quite frankly, many of the other professions know very little about the entertainer profession. It's one of those professions that you are either drawn to initially, or you aren't. Most people that get enjoyment out of running around killing everything in sight aren't going to gravitate towards that profession. If you want to educate people on all the benefits your profession brings to the game, you should do so in a respectful manner. Otherwise you leave visitors to your board with the impression that the majority of entertainers are a miserable bunch of players who hate everyone else.

I would never have thought I would want an entertainer character until I did the holo grind. I did a lot of it AFK (always trying to adhere to the wishes of the professionals - like setting up in a remote corner of the cantina, adding no spamming for tips andonly a heal request every five minutes), but I also did some of it ATK and had more fun than I would have expected. After it was over and I moved on to master other profs, I found that I did rather enjoy it and created an entertainer on another server which I play every now and then for a nice change of pace.

Quite frankly, most of the people I know that haveplayed this game for any length of timemiss the good old days when entertainers were all ATK and there was friendly and often flirtatious interactions between the players. Everyone knows it was the friendliest entertainers that got the best tips. Now that the holo grind is over, hopefully we can get back to those days. I know I always had my favorite entertainers that I would "patronize."

In any case, this is a game and games are meant to be fun. Let's not lose sight of that.

I'm new to the entertainer world, dropped fencing for music...kept doctor. After reading this I started my music career by going to the Coronet cantina and joined the big group. I received a ton of xp, enough to get novice musician after only a few hours. I chatted with the crowd, made a few credits and maybe even a few new friends. All in all I had a really great time, looking forward to doing it again, Solo this time. Screw the xp, I was disgusted with the entertainers in the group. Myself and the leader were the only ones not AFK. After a few comments about tips in Groupchat he/she decided that working the crowd might yeild a few more credits than her macro would.

I spent 4 hours in the cantina that night...I won't do it again. The lack of enthusiam put forth by these ppl have soured me. While I can commisurate with those wanting to better the profession and keep it alive and at the keyboard, it's just not going to happen without serious changes in the way it's played. Losing the recuring macro is a start, removes the AFK buff bots, but it's just a start. Since I'm new still I can't really provide a solution(s) as I don't know enough about it yet.

I maintain 3 accounts, and run two computers....until I acquired a master dancer/master swords hunting partner I had yet to use the services of an entertainer for buffs. With Brandy, Canape and Muon as backup I was set with a 6pt doc buff. Spending another 20 mins in a cantina trying to find the Blue buffs was futile at best.....and there in lies part of the problem.....
