NJ, i would feel TOTALLY at ease with the situation if thats what the devs are planning with future content for ALL the professions. So i have to agree with ya, if they could officially respond to that effect i think it would ease much of the angst we're experiencing here in the musician forum.
Keep up the good fight NJ!

I think there should be an xp requirement. However, if novice musicians are able to do the quests then they should be able to get the reward. The xp requirement should reflect that.

i think 100k exp is more reasonable.
i guess it counts like another music xp box, athough there is no box to train.
on the other hand, the crafters have gotten schematics at no extra xp cost.

So we have confirmations from a dancer that the 400k xp cost is still there (and unless there's some weird-crazy reason the musician quests would cost less than the dancer quest, that goes for us I imagine).
I don't consider the matter closed. They can still change/remove the requirement, and I think that they should. Once again, they should at the very least drop the amount down to what a novice musician can earn. Those of us who will have spent the 400k by the time it should be changed will live. But I feel sorry for the up and coming musician who, after discovering disappointment after disappointment with the profession, gets sent over the edge and gives up on being a musician after going through the quest only to find out he can't afford the reward.
And now it's more of an issue, because it's live.

I'm just glad they listened to us so carefully.
This communication we have with the devs just makes the game a much better place and if it continues like this, I never see it ending. It'll last forever......

I would have to say Option #4 pay xps for the quest in installments.
On that note I'll post a lil guide on how to get the xps.
You can craft for the xps much faster than you can play for them.
Requirements:
127,200 units of Ferrous Metal(Iron, Steel, etc.)
63,600 Aluminum
Musician Techniques IV
10 Weapon, Droid and General Crafting Tools.
What will you do with this stuff? Craft Nalgarons
How will you do it? Use ingame legal macro(3rd party macroes are totally up to you on attaining and finding support for them)
How long will it take you to attain 400k Musician Experience using this macro(provided below)? Approximately 2hrs 35m 47s(if all goes well with no problems and depending on have fast you can click your mouse button, lag, etc.).
Macro set up:
Place a crafting tool in each of your first 10 slots(hotkeys).
You have to create a macro which follows now.
First you have to name your Macro "Craft" if you copy my macro.

/macro Craft
You can place the hotkey for this macro anywhere so long as its not in the first 10 hotkeys. Plus you can do this with less than 10 tools but you would have to edit the macro for that. Using this macro there isn't a chance of a critical failure so you wont loose resources. This macro is also good for grinding jedi xps.
This macro doesn't craft the Nalgaron for me, what am I doing wrong?
This line(/selectDraftSchematic 15; ) has to be set up according to what schematics you have in your datapad. Open your datapad(ctrl+D) and goto the DraftSchematics Tab. Hit the "Change View" button at the botton, then count from the top down till you get to the Nalgaron(first item you count start at # 00), then edit your macro and change the # in that line to the one you counted to. You may have to do this a couple of times to get it right.
Why craft Nalgarons? Nalgarons give 472 Musician Exps per craft, but if you don't have the schematic for Nalgaron yet you can do others. I crafted Slitherhorns at Novice Entertainer to get through the frst 4 boxes so I could play higher lvl songs so I would beable to play in groups easier. That took me roughly 1 hr 30 mins to do all 4 boxes.
I'll check back here in a day or two to see if anyone had any questions bout this lil guide. Hope it helps some of you on your grinds.
