I want the differences between the two to be more than cosmetic

It looks to not have any differences, but rather that they stack.

From the article, it looks like you will be able to get it from ANY level of ANY entertainer, but one quote seems to make it look that the fastest version of it will be from a "double master dancer/musician with +25 skill tapes". The only people who I know with that are only sorta people, they are buffbots.

I think that this bears repeating over and over....

This is a Buffbot Re-Vamp!

I posted the following. I'm just...worn out. I can't even muster the energy to get angry about it.

I have been saying since beta that our abilities need to be active, versus passive. If I am not even able to /denyservice to someone, I am being raped at the behest of the development team. If /denyservice does work, then it still needs to be changed to work directly off the performer's Ignore List.I should not have to be continually on guard against someone I have no desire to allow to benefit from my services managing to sneak in among a crowd and steal something from me I have no intention of willingly giving. I hate this part enough that I will most likely drop my entertainer skills. I hate crafting in SWG, and I'll get bored fairly soon doing nothing but combat. I can't imagine I'll play for long if this debacle actually takes place.

That a Novice Entertainer can do the same thing a Master Musician can just boggles my mind. That between Entertainer, Musician and Dancer there is no difference in what is granted makes no sense. I dislike this intensely and consider it insulting in the extreme. It utterly devalues the time I spent getting to and remaining an elite Master performer.

So, where precisely can Inspiration be granted? Is it just laziness for not specifying exactly where mind enhancements currently can be applied, or ignorance? Because there's currently a great deal more places to apply mind enhancement than just "in Cantinas." Either way, that is a completely unacceptable statement.

I've loved being a musician in Star Wars Galaxies. I think a lot more could have been done with it. This definitely doesn't fall under the catagory of doing more. It's doing less. It's a blatant attempt to keep all those buffwh*re accounts active. I'm not surprised. I'm even beyond contempt. I'm just tired and disappointed.

You and me both.

I'm just astounded they'd throw this at us, what a sick joke. And what's sicker is that it's no joke.

I've no idea what was in their heads when they devised all of this.

I can only hope we can get through to them, but I'm too wiped out from everything at this point. I'm so tired of expending the energy for all of this nightmare that I'm actually taking a more positive angle on things, lol. Being upset and trying to take sense into the Devs seems to just waste time and energy. So, I'm with ya. Just don't have the energy.

If they want us all to be buffbots, I'll tell them what I think of them, and I'll hit the road. I play a game to play a game, not macro it...and whena Dev team for a game decides to make it easier to macro a group of professions already nearly destroyed by macroing, well - they deserve to lose the money from all 3 of my accounts, and they deserve what they get from my "exit survey" after hitting the cancel button.

See, even that wiped me out.

I need something to drink.

I posted this in the inconcept thread and it sums up my thoughts on these:

I was very much undecided on if these were good or bad untill I thought it through. I am sure that its been voiced about the concerns for buff bots regaining the "thrown" ect ect... but thats not what Im here to talk about.

At least half of the players I know have free sp's... and lots of them! So now those people can go pick up novice buff their group drop it and move on. So with that being the case, we are now completely useless... In the CU i have yet to heal *any* BF. So honestly we are useless... even if I had healed some, it is a system that really doesn't "retard" or hurt a combatant enough to force them "inside". So even if thats all we had... with all the other changes, that was the same as nothing

I don't know a single proffession where the "most usefull" and the highest income potential skill is in the novice box... So where I was going to give it my thumbs up, now I have to wonder what you were thinking. Please fix or remove this.

maybe this is why I even saw buffbots complaining on the in concept thread. Not like they care tho

Exactly.

And unless we push for it to be anything other than that, that's exactly what we'll get. Because that's what the Devs threw at us. I'm not sure any of their claims of not liking extended unattended play hold any water if the totally passive system they described goes Live.

If it does go Live and encourage buffbots like I fear it will, the day the Publish hits Live no one will ever hear from me on these forums again. Because then all I've been babbling about and fighting for the past year has been fruitless, because the Devs made it EASIER, freakin' EASIER, to be a buffbot. Hell, if that's the way they want me to play, then I'll find a game that encourages me to play and not macro the entire time I'm online. I was a huge fan of FPS's before coming to SWG, so perhaps I could back to that and catch up on the latest ones. They're looking pretty cool lately.

Ummm ok Question... these Inspiration buffs... do the differentiate at all from Musician to Dancer? I mean... if they don't then... its kinda pointless to have given us those lovely 16 pts off of ID, so we could master all the Entertainer/Dancer/Musician/ID right?

Nevermind someone pointed out that dbl mastery shortens the time...

*yippee* /sarcasm off

I think the reason Inspiration buffs will be passive and the same for novice and master is that they want to make it appear that they are giving us something while expending the absolute leasst amount of effort possible. We may as well face it, they really don't want us around and if it weren't for our $15 a month they would just dump the whole entertainer concept. Since we're already coded into the game they are doing the very least they can to keep at least a portion of us here and paying them.

Some exciting (if vague for the moment) news! (And hopefully this will help some of the more bitter among us be a little less bitter and a little more constructive ).

I posted collected feedback on the inspirations late last night after catching up on every Musician/Entertainer/Dancer post, and every post in the In Concept thread (anyone have a tissue for the bleeding eyes?). I checked the forums this morning, and already we had a dev talking to us behind the scenes about our feedback! I'm not allowed yet to reveal what was said or anything like that, but I'm pretty excited, and I really hope that whenever we *can* talk about it, we focus on doing what we can to polish up everything and make it the best it can be, without all the doomsaying that sometimes happens around here.

Of course, my being excited doesn't mean "the devs are going to do exactly what everyone wants" - but I think things are going in a very good direction. Rest assured we're doing what we can to get the information out in public as soon as possible .

As long as it is going in the direction that most of us want. That is what I care about and that they realize that they really should read what we write, or at least the version that our correspondants give them.

I think things will be looking pretty up. And from what I can tell, the feedback from people in the in concept thread has been looked at directly, besides my collecting and consolidating.

As for what version we correspondents give, I usually try to give just about any feedback that has gotten at least some support from various people; I'll present the majority opinion as the majority opinion, and then include "also, blahblah" for others. I do my best to include the reasons people have for having their opinions as well; basically, I want them to hear just about what everyone has to say, and to have some idea of what's the most popular, and why.
