I would think that you would welcome opinions from everyone. Afterall, SWG revolves around the playercommunity. If those outside your profession can vouch for a candidate, then they must be doing something right. In the end, of course part of it is a popularity contest, who would support someone they didn't like? We're all here to vouch for whoever we think is the right candidate. How else will they know who to pick unless people speak up?

That said I would like to support Jon-Ari's decision to run for player correspondent. I've had the priviledge to work with him closely for the first time for the Crescent City New Years Splash. This was my first attempt at a server wide event. The dedication, creativity, leadership, and knowledge that Jon had, allowed us to pull this off with only a week of preperation time. The event was a huge success, I'm sure anyone who attended would agree.

  • Are you knowledgeable about the Musician profession?

Big fat yes.

  • Are you a community leader?

No doubt about it. In my opinion the SWG in game community outranks the forum community. Forum participation in no way indicates in-game participation. Some people have the ability to sit at work and post all day. I would say that a forum presence is important, but not a huge determining factor.

  • Can you objectively identify relevant issues and distinguish them from simply passionate arguments?

Jon's professionalism is present in everything he does. I really respect him for that.

  • Do you like organizing information and corresponding with other members of a community?

No doubt about it.

Well, how would you know a person you vote for if you dont hear acculades from the people that know him/her best.

Take it into consideration what people that are not of the profession feel about your candidates thatsee them on a day to day basis.

For a great person and a dedicated musician, I cast my vote for Jon_Ari.

Hmm....yeah, but if they're going to be leading the forums, I'd hope it'd be someone who's at leastdone a decent amount of postsin the past few months. Someone who's been helpful to others in the forums, or provided their opinion on important issues regarding the profession they're so passionate about. The Correspondent isn't just about profession knowledge and personality(though those are factors), it's about leading the forum community and weighing opinions carefully.

And besides, it's not votes by anyone that gets a Correspondent picked. The Devs make the decision. So, all of Corbantis coming in here to "vote" for Jon_Ari won't get him the Correspondent position. There's a lot more involved in making the decision.

I believe you have the wrong impression. Corbantis is simply showing our support for a member that has provided countless hours of professional service and genuine congeniality. Irregardless of the position requirements, I am sure many individuals applying are aptly qualified. Perhaps examining Buckman's post again, you will understand thatthe validity behind ouradmiration for Jon-Ari.
Jon-Ari, the best of luck to you. You have my vote of confidence as Correspondent.

As you can see I do not have a lot to say on these forums. However when it comes to someone whose knowlege, dedication, community leader ship, and a all around superior muscian that cares about being an entertainer period needs some support I am there.

/vote Jon-Ari

It's also very disappointing to see 1-stars happening in this post. I don't think that anything anyone has said in here warrants a 1-star, but 1-star away, whoever you are.

Nobody has flamed, nobody has been rude.

I really hope we can rise above that stuff.

This is about selecting a new Correspondent for our profession, this is a GOOD thing. Can we all please be mature here.

Hiding behind a facade of single star ratings, whomever it may be (as always), does not present a pertinent point to the discussion. It only adds to the argument that this is a "popularity contest",which is being abated.

I would definitelybe interested in helping out as the Musician Correspondent. I've been a Musician since virtually the beginning. Its a large part of my gaming on the Corbantis server. I've done what I can on my own, working with what I have to make the entertainer professions better for everyone both the players and the audience.

I would love to take the opportunity to help work as the bridge between the devs and the players in making the entertainer professions, Musician in particular, one of the best profession features Star Wars Galaxies has to offer. It is a profession unique to this game alone to my knowledge.

Just as I say to my clients on Corbantis.... "I'm at your service."

Is initiation taking place in a Gypsy encampment? And why aren't you using that on NJ for his retirement?!

Jon-Ari 100%. He's been utterly inspirational - you should see the gigs he puts on and the effort and care he puts in to running events. He's not just a great musician, he's passionate about making cantina/social life one of the most compelling parts of SWG. None of your afk macros with Jon - it's all about events, fun, passion and character. If any of you have been to any of the weddings / parties / dating competitions that Jon has selflessly organised on Corbantis I know you'll post here. I've posted only once before, but when you have the chance to support people like jon-ari it's enough to make even the more reticent SWG member speak up.

He's the guy for the job, if the SOE guys are able to cope with the number of ideas, and the care this guy would bring to the post.
