Thread: My report to TH on our April 2004 Top Issues
2 words: new STUFF
well...this will be more then 2 words....
We need more stuff! if we get more songs, instruments, etc, then it becomes more fun! there are 2 boxes in Knowledge without either a song or an instrument.
1. Can't buff myself. (Gotta ask!) Why are entertainers buffs so miserly compared to doctors buffs?
2. Buffs need a visual queue for the entertainer and the patron.
3. Non-entertainers can use /stop to stop the entire band.
4. Lack of suitable entertainer missions. Payouts are far to low.
5. While a midi input (upload?) scheme would be great for the die hard's, new songs, more flourishes and distinct sounds for each instrument would help.
6. Perhaps a role in the GCW. However sitting at the bottom of an enemy base, playing and healing the troops (darn mind disease) while gunfire errupts all around me was plenty exciting. (Combat entertainers?)
7. There are many many many AFK entertainers. I wish I had a suggestion for this but I can't see how SOE can really fix this. People macro every profession they can, even combat so what can they do?
8. Make wookiees the most powerful beings in the entire universe! mwuahahahahahaha! ![]()

Top issues?
1- AKF and macro abuse - sufficiently discussed here that those who "get it" know what I refer to, and the others just want to grind to master without understanding the basics of being a musician (OK, OK, I just made master BY CHOICE without ONE SECOND of AFK or macro-zombie-robot activity) - this, more than anything else, is destroying the professionalism of all entertainer classes - and those blasted holo-bricks (probably intended to keep some "hooked" into the game-payment ritual in pre-pubescenthopes of growing up to be a jedi?) have just amplified the preexisting problem - I actually could have listed this as issues 1 through 5, it is THAT major! (and it has apparently beenignored in the major issues diagnosed in the past - slick tricks to "keep us at the keyboard" frankly miss the point andignore the problem)
2- the theater uselessness needs to be fixed - again, no need to detail these problems here - as it is coded as being "outside", we cannot truly perform there and it is useless except as a sexy building (which it is) - focus player-made cantinas on chefs and theaters on entertainers?
3- the well-known problems with the ommni box and the nalargon - it means I rarely play them, and that is a loss
4- this is a general plea: that entertainers receive some (any) serious attention from the devs - their attention seems welded (1) to anything that will trick subscription-payers into forking over for a few more months (player cities, mounts, vehicles, holos as cheap trip to jedi, what is next? - one gimmick after another with scant attention to real problems) and (2) to those characters whose craft is to kill others, PvP may be the focus for some, but not for all- entertainers, medical types, craftershave beenpretty much ignored - if they are seen, as I submit they are, as no more than service personnel by the devs, no more than living and grinding NPCs whose purpose is to give the demanded services where and when they are wanted, then why does it surprise us if most of the "gun-boys" share this attitude
5- the music sounds and songs are tedious, and the "missions" are intellectually and professionallyinsulting, and if there is enough time after dealing with items 1-4, then they might be addressed - but just throwing us a new instrument or a new sound or some less silly missions will NOT even remotely address the problems in the musician (and other entertainer) profession
And I do hope someone listene, please . . . .

To avoid confusion about which is the current poll, I've "unstickied" my other "polling threads," as well as last month's "top five and dev responses" thread. Please post your current top issues in this thread, even if you've posted them in other threads in the past, and even if your responses haven't changed. Also, it is slightlyeasier for me totallyyour votesif you post just a top five, but I don't really mind if you want to post more issues.

Darn..I also wanted to talk about the theater and cantina
the cantina registered notification needs to be fixed so you can truely see if there is someone there and the theater...well....we all know that needs work ![]()
Top 5:
- More Songs and Flo's.. I would like to see maybe up to 12 per song.. (F1-F12)?, And, posibly up to 2 or 3 more new songs..
- FIX Player THEATERS for crying out loud..

- Group Buffs.. Taking up to 30 minutes or so to buff a full group, when the buff only last about an hour is STUPID SOE Dev planning and foresight.. Individual buffs should take about a minute.. Groups 2 minutes..
- Do something , anything to keep people from Holo Macrotaining..

- More options with Cantina that are FUN, other then just placing them.. ie. gambling, entertainer vendors (pets) that can be paid for and used during times when no live entertainer is around.. I would even exchange this idea for "CD" that heal ONLY in the cantina, similar to a wound stimpack.. something, anything that will give something more for the MM to do, and to offer as a replacement to the concept idea of "Muletainer" that many player cities have to do to keep the residence healed 24/7..
This idea will most likely never fly,, because It's my experience and knowledge that there are estimated to be a FEW hundred 2nd accounts being paid to have a muletainer afk in a cantina somewhere... SOE will not take away real money from their pocket books, to give us any perks in that area.. To impliment such an idea of a "entertainer" vendor that MM's can use, or CD's to heal in off times will cause virtually all those secondary muletainers accounts to go BYE BYE..

Hope you are all doing well, here are my Top 5 suggestions.
#1. Self Buffing
#2. NPC Band Members as you go up the Tech Tree. At Master would have 4 NPC Band Members that play along with you.
#3. Individual instruments need distinctly different sounds.
#4. Vibro Harp, or some other stringed instrument in the Master Musician Box.
#5. Musician Recordings to heal mind wounds and 10 percent BF.
I am not even going to put more songs in here......hehe

1.) More songs,instruments,flourishes.
2.) Remove the ability to gain exp while afk.
3.) And of course. Fix the inconsistency with ME/MM. ME needs to be better developed and not have to take an instrument and song from MM's to make them viable.

4: Healing in camps, Make the 2 fieldbases heal BF when there's a master musician / dancer performing in it, also check the Ranger forum for a fantastic document about modular camps where musician / dancers can craft a BF healing module.
5: Instrument experimentation, it is still pointless to sell them on a vendor. After a month of having a vendor up with 4 of each, I sold a few fizzes and Slitherhorns and my guess is only to fellow guild members, not sure, I hardly ever log in to my Tempest account because of point 1.
Hmm, not true about the instruments. I used to make my money off of instruments in Theed, before the Jedi/Holocron/AFK outbreak. I'd sell out 3 sets off all 10 instruments in a few days.
1. New Instruments, Sounds
2. Make us a bit more useful.
3. Make buffs shorter, or add a timer. (I give free buffs, and get 5k tips, and knowing when I can stop will help me a lot.)
4. Make instrument quality matter. (This actually would be fun. People would have a reason to buy from me, other than the fact I'm the only Master who sells in Theed.)
5. KILL ALL AFK! (or better yet, make a new jedi system, so all the fanboy wannabe jedi's don't ruin peoples professions... Holocrons have hurt the economy badly)
