I've had /tellpet stay work fine for me, so not sure.
It stops my droid dead in it's tracks if someone tries to nab it, then it won't move.
Sometimes when you do /tellpet stay right after you call the droid, the droid can still get nabbed. But follow does seem to call it back to you.

I just dropped CH to do musician; yeah I like the challenging proffessions. The command that is causing the problem was added in patch 9 along with a couple of changes to the hug and other commands for trying to improve pet interaction. Unfortunately in typical SOE fashion it is borked.
None of the commands can prevent a determined griefer from taking your pet. The only thing that works effectively is to override their command quickly. This means that it is a good idea to have stay or follow tied to a key. I use the EQ style keying myself so chat is not always hot, instead I hit enter to do chat and can have single keystroke commands. I have one tied to stay and to follow.
I also use full words for my commands, single key commands and /tellpet do not work well. I've been fortunate not to be hit by this but have seen it a couple of times. I've even heard of people doing it on pets that were actively tanking for a CH, talk about low.
I've seen it posted the devs are delaying a fix. I don't get that sense at all, they are focused on build 10 because it is due right now. So "after build 10" probably means a mini-patch in a couple of days. Here is hoping because I just got my replay droid and am loving having the bandfill behind me when I play!

/tellpet will almost never work if your pet knows a 1 letter command for the action. So if your pet learned that "s" means "stay" when you '/tellpet s' it usually won't work. Try giving your pets 2 or 3 letter commands instead of 1 and it should obey when you use /tellpet.
I guess I never realized that. Thanks for the tip!
Maybe it's confused about other commands that start with the same letter?

No its just bugged. You can assign the same character to multiple commands but I'm very careful to review the command set and make sure they are unique. Even if the pet only knows one command /tellpet won't reliabley work with single letter commands.

I think i saw this happen to an AT-ST at dant imperial base the other day.
Someone had there AT-ST out then a person who i know is rebel (cos im rebel on that server) seemed to have the AT follow him for a while (not shooting him or attacking him). So i followed him till it got about 1000m from the base where about 5 rebels from the same guild as the one that lured it, came along overt and blew it up.
Though the person who was AFK with an AT-ST out next to the mission terminal so people could make money was just stupid for leaving it there.

Yes he was stupid for leaving it out while he was AFK because the Rebs could have staged an attack. That doesn't change the fact that they should not have been able to "lure it away". Its a stupid function SOE put in and here is hoping they take it out quickly. They don't even need to remove the code for the command, just not have the code that parses your chat line look for the command. Its about as easy a fix as there is in a complex piece of code so saying they are "working on a fix" is a delay tactic.
