Everyone should know how to make a buff bot (credit to deforrest).

/flourish 7;
/flourish 8;
/pause 10.5;
/startmusic starwars3;
/ui action toolbarSlot00

This is the macro I use in my F2 slot. It is the actual buffing part. It is in 2 parts because the whole thing is to big to fit in a single macro

/say Welcome to the cantina. To get a free focus and willpower buff start watching me and invite me into a group. ( 20 seconds till I join and 5 min after that the 20 second window will open again );
/Pause 20;
/join;
/pause 10;
/ui action targetGroup0;
/gStarting your buff now. The buff will take 5 min with a count down every min. At that time I will leave the group and wait for another invite. Please be kind and share my uber buff powers with everyone;
/setperform;
/pause 10;
/g You will not see you focus or willpower buff until you /stoplisten or you select stoplisten from the popup menu.;
/pause 10;
/g Due to a glitch in the game coding you will not be able to recieve another buff from me untill the buff I am giving now wears. If you die befor the buff naturaly ends the buff will die but the buff timer will not.( thanks SoE );
/pause 40;
/ui action toolbarSlot02;
/pause 240;
/leavegroup;
/ui action toolbarSlot01

This is the macro I use in my F3 slot. It is the second part of the bot code

/g 4 min left;
/pause 60;
/g 3 min left;
/pause 60;
/g 2 min left. Please send an email on what you think of this bot;
/pause 60;
/g 1 min left. This bot is free but tips are always welcome.;
/say In 1 min the 20 second window for me to be invited into a group and start buffing will open. Better catch it if you can because it will be 5 min befor it opens again.

hi guys...

/changeband, /changemusic, ====>/change

for /changeband or /changemusic just use /change... the ONLY bug it has is if someone has an instrament equiped and is NOT playing otherwise it will not bug so just drop the music/ band part out of the comand and your good to go...

/stopband, ----> /stop

/stop also does not create any bugs at all... so use that vs stopband however if your in a pickup group just use /stopmusic

remove the spam

many parts to this...

1. dont spam for tips or heals... they are all "trained" and will if they can/ want

2. if you have complex macro's that do certain flourishes for certain instraments at specific times, you can really spam your spatial... simply remove it from teh spatial bar and either put it on its own or add it to combat... the only problem from this is noticing tips... you have a lot shorter period to do so... therefor this is best when in a hired event vs a pickup band

/pausem is your friend

if you want to sound good add a macro to do this. it will work like so... each time you push the button, it will pause for one flourish set so if you want someone to solo for five flourish sets, hit the button five times.

Bands= fun

Whether leveling or master you'll have the most fun in a band. If your in the same cantina every day as you level, you will see lots of the same faces.. some will feel they are stuck there and others want to be there... regardless of why, it makes it lots of fun to act like a band so do so... line up with the dancers in one line and the band behind in the other and try to make the music sound good. Use bandflourishes and just let everyone run a set... in my old pickup band which many ended up becoming part of my now band, we would rotate flourishe sets ie everyone made a few macros that contained 5 flourishes and it'd be like ok u go then me then u ect ect. that way we both got equal xp and even had a little ocmpetition to who's sounded better. But also eveyrone knew we were having fun, picked up on it and did too! No mater what, acting like a band from teh start is the key. there is no reason to stand by the door it will not get you xp faster just unrespected.

professionalism

even if your leveling, if you intend to remain on with this profession your level of professionalism is the key to your success. Here's how... when people enter greet them, dont play afk, while people are healing converse! tell jokes ask about their lvling or whatever just make sure to talk with them. Dont play in a band where different songs are playing EVER. When people are leaving tell them good to see ya hope to see you again ect ect. If they say they really like what they are hearing, tell them to pass the word about you. Build up your customer base. The easiest way to do this is follow the above and be consistantly there. When you decide to finaly move on... anounce it for a few days/ week first so they knwo where/ when/ how to find you. Play requests! YOu are an entertainer your first priority therefor is to entertain. The xp comes a LOT faster if your having fun and playing requests and making customers happy equals better tips but also lots more fun. This way you make lots more and before you know it you are both famous, rich and happy If you are having trouble with the pickup bands in your area, then try a new cantina. If all you can get is a leveling group that only wants to play the highest song they can and flourishs exactly 2 times in 6 seconds for max xp then leave the group. If you dont, you wont have nearly the fun.

Buffed often in 3 minutes, know I can safely do them in that time. I had another master (drunk on T'ssolok) spam-buffme and got just under a 1 hour buff in one minute. I'll have to try a 1 minute buff on someone, myself.

having everyone in the group will give the passive buff to everyone at the same time, but I believe the buff takes twice as long then. but it's still faster than individually buffing 6 people for 10 min. each.

I don't normally encourage grinding - but this can get you through Music 1 without ever playing SW1 on the slitherhorn:

You get a small amount Music XP for crafting instruments. At Novice Entertainer, you can craft a slitherhorn. It requires 45 metal to make and in "Practice Mode" produces about 115 XP per horn. That's 9 slitherhorns (less than 500 metal) to the Rock song and fizzz! Yes!

After Music 1 and possibly 2, it's probably too expensive to be worth much, though.

If you want to share a tip with the others in your group, do /splitcredits <amount>

The /changeband bug I am familiar with is this:

1) Band is playing; someone in the band is standing there who is not playing, but has an instrument in their hand.

2) Someone hits /changeband <song>.

3) The band changes songs; the person who was not playing begins playing the new song.

4) Everyone who was playing before the change is fine; the person who was standing there not playing will be bugged.

This has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not there is a nalargon or omnibox in the band. It also has nothing to do with the alignment of the planets, or which side moss grows on a rolling stone.

Heres my guide to buffing it covers Publish 6 somewhat so yah thats that

A. How to buff, this will explain how to recieve a buff as well

1. Start playing any instrument on any song, it doesnt matter

2. Make sure the person you want to buff is listening, with /listen

3. While targeting them type "/setperform"
a. If you are using the Nalargon or Omnibox, which must be targeted then you need to type there name after wards Ie."/setperform Joe"

4. Do flourishes for a while (more below)

5. Have them stop listen for it to take effect, There is no notice that it is done nor do they see any effect of it till they stop listening, with /stoplisten.

6. IF you did it correct then it will appear in the buff display window with a time of 2 hours

B. How much will it buff me?

1. This is dependent on their "Musical Mind enchancement" stat. (Dancer Mind Enchancment for dancers)

2. For each "point" they have in this skill mod they will increase your stat by one percent (Mind for dancers. Will/Focus for musicians)

3. These mods are found in the "tech" skill tree, It goes as follows
Novice Music/Dance..................10% increase
Music/Dance Tech I..................20%
Music/Dance Tech II.................30%
Music/Dance Tech III................50%
Music/Dance Tech IV.................75%
Master Music/Dance..................100%
For instance if a guy with 600 focus and 450 willpower gets buffed by a Tech III musician then his new stats will be 900 focus and 675 willpower.

4. There are skill tapes that increase these so if your a entertainer look out for them

C. How long do i have to listen?

1. This is dependent on the number of flourishes the entertainer does, all the listener needs to do is sit back and enjoy

2. At a rate of around 2 flourishes every 10 secs it takes 8-10 minutes
*Note: No one has let me test for the exact flourishes to time length but this is accurate enough

3. Also if, by any means, you can have enough action to do constant flourishes you will be able to buff in around 2-3 minutes. This will buff full and also last 2 hours which is apparently the max time length. *Note: This is harder for dancers to do but still applies

C. Group Buffs *Note: this was changed in publish six so im still playing around with it

1. When your in a group, anyone who listens to you thats in your group will be buffed auto-matically.

2. This takes longer (Will try to test and get back to you on this)

So that about wraps it up for buffing and being buffed. If you have any questions just post em here or whatever ill try my best to get back to you. Hope this has been usefull to you.

You can stop a macro by typing /dump.

You can stop a flourish in the middle of it by typing /stand

In fact whenever you leave a band or change instruments if you type /stand you will not interrupt the bandwith end music and you will not accidentally /stop the band. Use /stand instead of /stopmusic.

Remember to remind people they CAN split credits with a group by tipping one person:

/splitcreditswithgroup is the command it works and has been in the game for awhile.

********************************************

I would like to know the commands for flourishing all the instruments in a band, if you wish to flourish OTHER people's instruments say all the fizzes what are the commands for each?
