Not flaming anyone here, but devils advocate...as a live entertainer, would you take the place of a guild's buffbot and perform live for a four hour period during base defense and PvP for free?
My guild? Certainly.
Another guild, I might request some sort of compensation.
Same here. I have done so on numerous occasions for my own guild, and done it happily. The key is to respect entertainers, and recruit them into your guild. No self respecting entertainer will join a guild with buffbots.
As an addendum...I should also point out that not only did I do this for my own guild, but I've been known to do it for no compensation whatsoever for other guilds who I may have friends in. I haven't done this in quite awhile though. You see, I got into an argument with the guild leader of a guild I used to buff regularly because their city has buffbots. Suffice it to say, I don't buff them anymore...not that they need me, I guess.
But, yeah...you see how it works. ![]()

There are afk buff bots and I have a second account Buff Ent bot deal with it I pay 15 dollors a month on it and I will do as I please.
I pay 15 dollars a month for my character. Should I do whatever I please? AFK macrospamming the starports, finding and using every exploit, camping static spawns? Maybe I should go out and start duping credits. It's good for me, so why shouldn't I?
If you want the answer to my question I can provide it in four words: This is a community.
When someone does anything to harm another member of the community (as AFK macroing does the Entertainers, especially when it comes to buffbots), the entire community is affected. When you have a me-centered attitude instead of a community-centered one, you destroy the gaming experience for everyone around you.
Perhaps I should have tacked a note about not only bringing some knowledge to discussions about buffbots, but also bringing along some morals and logic.
point Boscuia is making is her bot would be running in a player city cantina, no spamming, only buffing those that come in and buffing for free. No charge on it. So all your points are invalid.
Really that only reinforces my points. Buffs provided at no charge by a buffbotmean less income for the people who choose to spend time at their keyboards and play the professions. The selfish activities of one buffbot affect an entire class of people.
And no, money isn't my only concern. In fact it doesn't measure significantly in my opinions about buffbots. The most immediate concern I have is that buffbots reinforce a negative view of Entertainers. They make it easier for people to think of us as objcets, PEZ dispensers for mind buffs. We're more than that, but the buffbots (& other AFK macrotainers) cause others to objectify us. Once a significant population in the game thinks of Entertainers as nothing more than fourth-rate citizens, buff dispensers, then the class is dead. At that point, there is no point in having an Entertainers class, there's really no point in having an MMORPG. We may as well all go out and buy Jedi Academy or KOTOR and fight computer monsters, where all you have to do to charge up your stats is use a Force heal or find a health pack lying around somewhere.
