The Imperial March does play....But you have to listen closely, as it's drawn out and more strident than we've come to know and love.

Yeah, I have seen the original trilogy countless times in the past 28 years, but I will never again see it quite the same way now that Episode 3 is out and the story is complete. This is easily the best of the prequel trilogy, and that's as it should be

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet: did anyone notice the striking similarities between the Anakin vs. Dooku duel as opposed to Luke vs. Vader in Ep. 6? In both cases you have Palpatine sitting on a chair (and watch him smirk in Ep. 3!) with a space battle as a backdrop, as before him his current and (possibly) next apprentice battle it out. I thought that was a masterful touch by Lucas, especially as a comparison between Anakin's and Luke's choices after they'd won their duels ("Kill him!")

The Star Wars geek in me is soo excited about this movie. And I've only seen it once so far! But I'll be sure to correct that in the next few days

It's funny, but this is actually a big reason why Lucas decided to go ahead and do the prequels.

Darth Vader had become such a huge iconic figure (Possibly the best BadAss of Films) but the true nature of the character, the tragic nature, was all but lost on the public.

Sure, people recognized it after Return Of The Jedi... it was there, but not the amount that Lucas intended.

Hey, the bad guy is always gonna steel the show... ESPECIALLY when he wears such a great costume... but Lucas didn't sell out on his true vision.
That shows in the way he decided to handle the Vader scenes.

I'm sure tons of people wanted to see the Imperial March blare out as Darth Vader rose to the side of the Emperor... both standing there in all their Empirical Glory... sorry, that's not what this is about.
Just like in Return Of The Jedi, Lucas took flak for unmasking Vader and turning him into some sad story, now he went and completed his vision. And completed it the way he wanted to, not some commercial pop version that completely undermines the true nature of the story.

Nope... Vader rises to the sad sounds of Funeral Music (And yes with the Imperial March sadly underscoring it).

(Bravo John Williams!!)

Saw the movie...have just one word for it. WOW!

Seriously its so emotionally gripping that if you walk out of the theater untouched or unfeeling you need to wake up...and the critics that say it sucked...maybe they should write the review AFTER watching it all the way through instead of writing as they go and missing half the movie looking down. Anyway, I thought it was incredible, I now appreciate A New Hope a lot more than before, that's for sure.

You said it Brother It did have some small issues but al in all Episode 3 was by far the best of the prequels and second best in all time as far as I'm concerned. Right behind ESB Hey Neeno!!! check out the Tag bro, Couldn't keep this Blackmoor away from musician long lol See you ingame Bro.

To me, the comercial showed Vader's rising as the selling point of Ep III and the climax of the entire saga. The funeral music wasn't very climatic and was somewhat of a let down. Also, I felt the scene was the birth of pure evil rather than a sad and tragic moment. It felt like the combining of Vader rising to Imperial glory with sad music. The scene just didn't feel right.
