Thread: Publish 20 is Live
On the bright side the Dev's can finally boast that they have removed buff bots... There is now no reason for any entertainer bot of any kind...
But truthfully, there really isn't any need for all the other professions either. The GCW is in shambles as Jedi run rampant. I canceled this account which is my master rifle, artisan, and shipwright and kept my Master ent and musician account so go figure...
At least she has RP....

This may not be related to publish 20, but I'm a pure ent on Starsider, and am always broke, played with the dance props and took some dancer missions, then I wanted to check out the musician stuff and couldn't pull a musician mission.
I thought I just had to equip an instrument, I asked another player nearby who is a musician if he could pull any, and he could not take any as well.
It's been awhile since I ran entertainer missions and perhaps I'm doing something wrong ![]()

There are two tabs at the top of the mission list one called Dance (which is the default) and another called Music, if you click on the Music tab you will get missions for Musician!
But Geddy....I believe all the missions on the music tab are still labled "dancer". I'll check it out next time I'm on. Its always been on our bug list and has not gotten fixed as far as I know.

GIANT BLOCK OF BLUE TEXT EVIL!!!!
WILL NOT READ UNTIL YOU LEARN HOW TO HIT THE ENTER KEY AND MAKE PARAGRAPHS!!!
This is true, yes. However, the problem with this is that then you get jerks who get pissy with you because you're in a high traffic area and you're "increasing the lag" with your particle effects, which is the only way that people are going to see you in a large gathering of people.

Even though it may look pretty bleak, don't give up so quickly. If your goal was to be a performer first and a healer second, then all isn't lost yet. Audience not coming to you? Well, go to your audience!
The one good thing that may have come from the removal of BF is that entertainers are now not tied to cantinas anymore. It used to be we HAD to play in cantinas because we needed entertainer healing xp, and this could only be gotten in cantinas since that was the only place BF could be healed.
This is now over. Entertainers have to realize (and Isuspect it may not have struck home to some yet), that they are now free to roam wherever they want. You can get your xp just as well in front of a starport then in a cantina. So park yourself in front of Theed Spaceport and do your act there!
This is already happening on Chimaera. You see groups of entertainers out in the streets, entertaining. At least one argument against the removal of BF doesn't really hold water for me: folks are complaining that people now don't have a reason to come to cantinas anymore (true, so far), and that therefore entertainers have lost a large part of their visibility. The latter is false, you can be visible to more people than ever before now. You just have to go out after them, and now you are no longer penalized for doing so
/showMusicianvisuals (or maybe /hideMusicianvisuals, I've only noticed /show) should turn off musician visuals. I haven't had time to test it though to see if you need to put off or something after it.I'm not even sure if it works but it should.

Last I remember, actually, unchecking the "Enable Sound" checkbox will stop the animations from showing, while turning the player music down to 0 will still show them. Has this changed?
