With songs and instruments split over two skill trees we now must invest twice as many skill points to get what we had before. And to make matters worse they take away what little we had left that gave us a value to the rest of the games mechanics.
It's pure stupidity.
Just total and complete stupidity.

I shouldn't be so harsh, I suppose, I'm just always frustrated with SWG and my favorite profession--one that I thought was truly innovative in this genre--getting the tail-end treatment.
Dancers at least have been slowly seeing some improvements.
.... I walked into my local cantina.. ready to try out a new song...
A bit roughed up from my last space mission, I was slowly feeling a grin reach its way across my face... It'd been a while since I just let all the pent up energy loose. A while since I'd let it all go, into music. Music that can tell a tale of its own.
And I went to play my bandfill. I'd let my diplolmat, dancing, scouting, artisan, nearly completed medic skills, marksmanskills of MANY sorts, and even some melee skills drift into nothingness.. Just to be able to play new instruments. and new songs...... and then. I realized.
I'd been had.
Can't play the same instruments I could yesterday.
It'd cost me more skill points. I have almost none left. I used them in order to play songs, instruments.
I'd wasted tons of skill points, and experience. Mostly in order to help others, and hear new sounds, play new songs.
No longer an option.
I'm just a useless barfly now. Can't play my gear. No SP to relearn it. Can't jump back into combat where I was, since I lost the exp and sp to do so.
All for the sake of healing through music.
Oh wait.. I'm obselete.
Thanks. A lot
Yep.Toanyone who's not a musician. I'm 'whining'. Live with it. We got the bad end of the saber. The glowy end.
Even my cool hats aren't keeping me interested now.

Hello people on the musician side,
I am primary dancer by profession (Master) thenadded Entertainer (Master) to get some music skills to fill a position as musician as there is few musicians around me when I dance. My idea was "well, instead of letting one lone musician playing beside his or her droid, why not joining ?". Then my interest to music grew and I went to Novice Musician and started to fill the song/instrument branch.
Actually, my plan was to be able to get the full branch of songs/instruments to be a supporting musician.
However, Pub 20 completely changes things for me. To be able to do the same thing than the day before, I must invest twice more SP.
Beside the fact it may only be a point of view issue on how many SP a musician must invest, I'd like to underline the difference between dancer and musician, in terms of SP costs when you're not Master.
Indeed, we now have :
- 1 dancer branch dedicated to dances styles
- 1 dancer branch dedicated to props
- 1 musician branch dedicated to songs
- 1 musician branch dedicated to instruments
The problem, to me, is instruments are not just eye candies for musicians like props are for dancer.
A dancer, with only one branch full, can perform all dances (save Master's) where a musician needs two branches to be able to perform all songs using all instruments and combinations.
In other words, I have the choice between :
- being a Master Dancer needing two more musician branches
- being a Master Musician needing one more dancer branch
SP wise and disregarding props which are... only props, it's less costly to switch to full Musician adding some dance skill than the opposite.
Unless I am totally wrong.
As I don't intent to drop Master Dancer as it always defined my character, my musician skills may suffer from Pub 20, up to the point for me to totally abandon the career (twice more SP, longer to learn)
Truly, it depends if I am willing to sacrifice some of my artisan skills to learn the now needed instrument branch.
Props areonly fancy additionsfor dancers...
Intruments are a fundamental part of musician job. To sound good, to bepart of a band.
It's a botched attempt to put the two professions on the same SP level requirements.
Someone who wants to dance and look good will never have to learn to wield props. A musician, on the other side...

We've got a correspondent between Devs and players and it's Aleyo.
Please Aleyo, can you tell them that what they done is a lil funny and we thankem for trying to revamp our professionbut main musicians think that revamp is a joke. Taking a tree and separating it in two trees? what does this mean? (maybe they miss ideas about what a dev team cando to make a game better and funnier lol). Remove BF and nothing to make our profession useful. We need some answers. Thk U
Its everything we NEVER asked for.
It's not like they had any bugs to fix for entertainers. "You stopped watching/listening because %t is too far away" Nope.. no bugs whatsoever.
New bug for me... see if anyone has this problem.
Here's a description of what was going on each time:
I was 4002 Musician for BF and Buffing (when it worked in that branch anyway) I had 900k banked musician XP.
Then after pub 20 I noticed I needed to move to 0400 to get the buffing line for some dumb reason. On the way to my skill trainer to train up the other branch (which I would have done with 900k XP) I decide to stop by the catina and test some new particle effects, well, I start playing music and bam! 5 seconds later, "You have lost 550,000 Musician Experience, Woot!. I love this game.
I'm a friggin Imperial Officer. What is going on?
Edit Add: The reason I'm not playing anymore (even tho the macro is running) is because I'm not holding my instrument anymore)...

"We stop listening to dev promises because they're too far away from delivering anything but more bugs ....."
You can imagine how much I adore the devs right now.
