Thread: Musician FAQ, sort of: our Knowledge Base entries
Also the crafting and performinf certificates seem to be the wrong way round, I'm musician 2003 and I can't use the mandivol (the way I read the certs I shoud be able to use it, just not make it) and couldn't make a Traz with just novice, when I think I should be able to make it at novice. But now I can make it...
The skills thing isn't clear at all.
Certification for mandoviol is at Master Entertainer, not in the Musician skilltree. And yeah..double flourishing will give you the xp for 2 flourishes. You don't have to use /bandflo. Please keep in mind, when you call a /bandflo, you're the only one in the group who will get skill xp for that flourish.

There's no mention of the fact that /flourish x followed by /bandflourish y gets you more XP (around double)

No it isn't clear at all.
Simply put, the skills gained going up the Music Tech tree ONLY grants access to making the instrument. Certs in the Music Knowledge tree grant the ability to play them.
As to the other certs in Nov Ent, Music 1-4, Master Ent, Nov Music, and Master Music....Each instrument has two separate listings, one with a check and one without. I can never remember which is which, but All on the listings of each type, checked or unchecked, correspod to crafting or playing. I THINK that the unchecked is to play it and the Check is to craft it. Easy was is to check Master Entertainer. There is one instrument listing for Mandoviol in that box. It is the certification to play it.
Regarding flourishes, if you do ANY 2 flos in one tick, regular or bandflo, you get the "double" or max XP for that tick. You can do 2 bandflos or 2 regular. There is no benefit for specifically doing one flo then one bandflo. Bandflos, however, give no xp benefit for anyone other than the person doing them, BUT they do use up action from EVERYONE. Its always nice to ask before doing them, but anyone can always turn them off by doing a "/bandflo off" or "/b off".
