I am usually grouped with an ent group, but am willling to do buffs for the polite. I use groupbuffing for actual groups. Where they are all together and gonna be together. I generally do large groups and charge 50-100k up front depending on the group size. I'm very controlling about how I operate it because going from tatooine to Endor to buff a group and getting stiffed only happens once, in my book
I will perform for them for 20 minutes to half an hour to ensure the whole group gets buffed. Often I get additional tips. I demand my payment though up front from the person who solicited my skills. No more worrying about "Oh, I thought the others would cover it, I dont have enough". If I'm in an entertainer group I will only leave and do a group buff for 10 or more. I've gotten the stealth invite. The buff plz. The buff me. One patron was very polite, but ignorant. I agreed to buff him, and he sent his payment up front, and I began to setperform for him. He apparantly didn't notice that or understand it, because after a few minutes, he got a little upset and said "I paid, can you please start buffing me???" I replied that I had already begun and he only had a couple more minutes to go. He said "But don't I need to be in your group?" I explained it to him. There have also been those who claim ignorance, but are really wanting their friends on the side to get free buffs. I educated a group of up and comming ents last night, explaining how buffs work. Told them I was almost to a million from entertaining alone and that its ok to demand payment up front. (its much easier to rebuff, or tip back the money than get stiffed.)

You could always accept the invite, then run out of the cantina and grab missions. Change it up a bit mess with their heads. I know we've had people try to get into bands for that reason enough times. Even if you're a non combatant, there's nothing to say you have to DO the missions. You could get a Gungan camp, then go out and play tunes for them.

Lol, awesome bunny! I love it. I think im gonna have to try this the next time a rude one hits me with the non-stop group invite. hehehe
For me, i always use the /setperf when not playing in my cantina for my guildmates. its just a nice way to control who gets a buff and who doesnt. And I do usually stay grouped with a droid to avoid the relentless anonymous group invites. I cant tell ya how many times i have been instructed on how to give buffs. it cracks me up everytime. "You have to be grouped to buff me", "You dont know what your doing", "Havent you ever buffed someone before", etc, etc. I always say the same things in response, "How about we leave the killing to you, and the music buffing to me" and then do a "/emote points up at his MASTER musician title".
Its also very fun to keep a dialogue going with AFK buffbots that may bearound you. its always good for a giggle. It provides some entertainment (we are here toentertain are we not?) and it also helps emphasize the fact fact that you are actualy present and alive while they are merely an expensive NPC. Stuff like, "Hey*BuffbotName* your mando isnt even plugged in bro, let me help ya with that" or "/emote whipes drool of *BuffbotName's* chin"

I had that happen last night, got invited, I declined. Then the guy says something like "jeese can't get a musician buff around here" in spatial. I sent him a tell explaining that I wasn't a bot, and like to be asked before I'm invited.
Worked out fine, he asked me nicely for a buff, I did it, he tipped and thanked me. All was well with the world
