Sever them. I'm a dancer and I say sever them. Don't hold back musician content just because dancer content isn't ready. Ship it if the song works, let the dance go back to the drawing board. At least I can listen to a new song when I dance.

As a dancer I don't want to hold up the musicians' quest just because the dance reward is broken. But, then - you know what I think of the dance anyway, fixed or not I don't care for it. So, yes, if the quests can be split apartthe musicians should get their song.

I say we wait with the dancers. I find it interesting that the replies to severe them are actually coming from dancers but I think it is important to keep the entertainer community united.

We're all in this together. I wouldn't want them to push forward our little bit of "content" while they continue to ignore and possibly even shelve the Dancers' "content." What I would like to see is a Dev post about when they forsee actually doing something about fixing the dance. How long does it take for any one of the Devs to go out to the test forum and type "Screw You" before hitting the submit button? At least that would give us an idea on the priority we're getting.

*cough*cough* back to the more immediate subject, I'd prefer for these bits of "content" to stay married. The new song & dance should come at the same time. To do anything else would just be wrong.

Well, you haveonly heard from a couple of us. I suppose this warrants a thread over in the Dancer Forum . . .

I support not getting our song until the dance is fixed. I certainly appreciate the Dancers' that are willing to let us have our part first, I think it is important to keep us (community as a whole)in a state of solidarity. Also, I doube that the Devs would do the separation of the quests, although I'm not sure.

Aside from standing side by side with dancers I would personally prefer to have the coder work on getting the dance fixed (no I'm not a dancer) rather than figure out how to sever the code (especially since I'm not entirely convinced that'll work from some early testing I did, the distinction between entertaining as a musician and a dancerwasn't quite clear cut- can't easily repeat it since they took out the satisfaction rating)

comments with that in mind.

I think you'll find that we musicians and dancers love each other enough that the musicians will want to show their love by saying 'don't sever the quests, the dancers deserve the content at the same time as we do' while the dancers will want to show their love by saying 'we don't mind, give the musicians the content, we want them to have new happy stuff.'
Yay for entertainers!

What I find interesting is reading the job description at the LA site... EA Is handling Japan SWG and not sony ? And with how screwed up this game is and un-star wars like in so many ways... In a hopefull kind of way I could see this happening. At least LA would care a lot more then SOE... as SOE has EQ2 while LA has a huge interest in the Star Wars brand and how it's portrayed.

SWG Job ad on LA site

This can be a good or bad thing.

We know where we stand with SOE, andthough they may not be doing much to fix our needs, at least we know they still are keeping us in the game.

If LA gets ahold of this game, they may just say to themselves that the cantina feature just isn't worth saving, and eliminate our professions.

Well, live bugs (bugs that are on the live servers) should always have priority over stuff still on test.

However, that still doesn't excuse the lack of response to that thread nor the lack of communication about the delays for our content.

Would that include all the many bugs in Master Dancer that have been there since the game went live? Fixing bugs in live has never been any kind of priority fot the DEVs.

I'm not dead, just beta testing, and wow, guys, the cantina is going to change! (i.e. hawtpants will be replaced... by what i will not say, but we will now have different generica entertainer clones!) Point aside (We knew we werent going to get content, devs told us thats post-jtl), i've decided to post some more junk, since what we say doesn't matter:

Ye and God said to Abraham "You will kill your son Isaac"

And Abraham said to God "I can't hear you, you will have to speak into the microphone"

And God said "Oh, I'm sorry, is this better? Check, check, check. Jerry, pull the high end out, I'm still getting some hiss back here"

Excellent point. Why spend twice the effort digging through the code, when the first time through could fix the dance.

Odds are, if they split Music and Dance, Music Quest will work great. Then they fix the dance and add the Dance Quest. Then that breaks the Music Quest, somehow. Then the Dance Quest gets screwed up. Then the Devs realize they accidentally put in the broken dance AGAIN. Then they get it all worked out. Sometime in 2006.
