Thread: Everyone can relax

*phew*

Good work, Tiggs, on your excellent communication with everyone except the 2 professions whose content is mysteriously missing and unaccounted for. It takes effort to ignore the PM's people have been sending you. More effort than just putting a post in that Feedback Thread telling us what the hell is going on with the missing first content we've had in 14 months, or at least that you'll put forth 1/16 the effort you did with this Whip's quest stuff and TRY to find out what's happening. Just TRYING would be enough.

Instead, that Feedback now stands as a complete and total mockery to the Dev Team.

Check it out and see what we're worth to the Devs. Hell, I posted the ingredients to Tropicana Orange Juice and Mountain Dew Code Red almost all of yesterday before just editing it out myself. Shows you how much anyone's looked in there, doesn't it?

But relax, everyone. Tiggs checked in early in the morning to make sure Whip's Quest in the Village works fine, and that those content-hungry Force Sensitive people are all happy and properly warm and fuzzy.

Must be nice to be treated like a paying customer.

That is all.

Thanks for your time.

Well, live bugs (bugs that are on the live servers) should always have priority over stuff still on test.

However, that still doesn't excuse the lack of response to that thread nor the lack of communication about the delays for our content.

Maybe some Google-bait will attract some kind of attention. What the heck, I'm bored and nothing is getting us anywhere anyhow:

Jedi Aurillia Quest broken bug bugged busted gated Devs Tiggs Thunderheart Developers harassment harassed gimped borked wasted time Force Sensitive not working checkforcestatus broken Force powers disabled stuck Jedi missions quests problem problems Padawan Trials broken lightsaber not working forcechoke problem Jedi Master level 1 level 2 level 3 level 4 phase 1 phase 2 phase 3 phase 4 Armor Hole reflex combat medic/survey crafting raiding party sith chief engineer exit quest Mellichae crystals force crystal old man shadow sith exploit exploiting credit dupe what the hell happened to the Entertainer Quest that was supposed to go Live in Publish 10.2 with our new song and dance, and why do you continue to ignore us thanks

Oh, absolutely.

My point being that Tiggs has bent over backwards to post LOTS of junk regarding this Whip thing. Not one single effort to tell us what's going on with our stuff, or that she'll look into it since we've had no word on our stuff that was supposed to go Live in Publish 10.2 - that right there is the crux of the problem.

If we're told something's going Live, and nothing happens, we darn well deserve to know what the deal is.

My guess is that Tiggs simply has no information. Probably can't even get a developer to answer the question for her since they're so busy on other stuff. She's not the problem, she probably has very little say in what gets developed when, and is probably unwilling to engender our wrath with an answer as useless as "I have no clue."

Still, they ought to at least try to communicate. It's always been a failing of this dev team.

True.

So, sorry Tiggs.

But, if she can rally the Devs for a Whip's Quest fix, seems she might be able to get some news for us or prod someone to do something, already.

Oh well.

The new song and dance are never coming. Whenever they do, I'm sure the dance will still be broken. We're wasting our time.

Hmm, I wonder if you can sing that to the tune of Billy Joel's "We didn't start the fire" - might have to rearrange some phrases to get it to rhyme

Sure, strictly speaking it's not Tiggs' fault... but then, it IS her job to communicate with the players, and the fact that there are no newswould benews in and of itself, but we don't even warrant that much attention it seems.

Oh, and my PMs to Tiggs, TH and Chrysalide have gone unanswered too so far. Just in case anyone was wondering

I'm also disappointed we've had no dev posts in the feedback thread, or any ETA on the new quests and song. If there is hope that the dance can be fixed, then I myself don't mind waiting a bit longer for the song, but only if it's going to be a couple weeks or so. If it's going to take longer, then I think the Musician quests should be severed from the Dance quests and pushed to live. The worst possible outcome is a delay with *no* dance fix, which is what I fear might happen. I'm still waiting for devfeedback on this.

That said,if I were czar of SWG, I'd have made the Whip bug a top priority. The Whip bug generated a 15-page thread within hours of the minipublish going Live late last week. In my player city, a half-dozen people were complaining about it constantly. The trouble is that these village quests are a one-way ratchet: once you start, you can't abandon them. So this isn't like a quest that you can abandon until the big is fixed. It's a bugged quest you're stuck with for three weeks. And, as Javy said, it's already Live. Why it wasn't caught and fixed in testing is beyond me, but what else is new.

What is the real problem with the dance. From what I understand it the base stems (no flourish animation), but it is not the only dance that has that problem, are two other dances not having the same problem? So did the devs suddenly get a sense of pride in thair work, or started caring about such thing working? Oh and will they also fix the other dances that do not work on only the new one...

To me it sounds more like an excuse.

And btw Warryyr, you should add the words "exploit exploiting credit dupe" to that bait line.

Yeah, the base step is goofed up. It looks fine to the dancer, but to the audience it looks all twitchy and screwed up. Same as 2 other dances, same problem. Hopefully when they fix the new one they'll fix the other 2, as well.

It's extremely lame that they would create a new dance as a reward, and repeat the same error they made with 2 other dances. Since they don't seem to have the kielbasa to post a darn thing in the Feedback thread that they're fixing the dance, theySURE AS HELLbetter be fixing that dance.

It'd be like our basenotes, when we're playing a song but not flourishing, coming out as static to anyone but us. That's totally lame.

This game has serious problems.

So much so that the RUMOR MILL has started buzzing a bit...and it gives me hope that things WILL change for the better. Or, at least something will change. Maybe someone will come along who won't treat us like we don't exist. Take what's in that link with a grain of salt. Could just be made up BS. Your call.

Well, my limited understanding of the dance issue is that it may be network-related. The dances that look "bugged" to us now didn't look that way when I first started playing the game, nor did they look that way in beta. There seems to be some correlation between server load and the dance, because even now sometimes they look half-decent to me. As Tiaga explains it, the game has to reposition the dancer if she drifts, and instead of teleporting her, it has her walk.

Anyway, all of that makes me worry that the issue is far more complex than just fixing some animations.

In any case, Panthu and I are trying to work together on suggesting what's best for both our professions. I assume most Musicians would prefer to sever the song quests from the dance quests and push them to live?
