That's the first time I'm hearing this. If it's true, it would be in direct contradiction to what the Devs have promised for Publish 10. I don't remember the exact wording, but the fact there would be a 2nd character slot was quite clearly promised (nothing aboutthe details though, like Padawan being undroppable).

So if there is no 2nd slot now, SOE lied to us yet again, and in a big way this time. But I'd really like solid confirmation one way or the other before I'm really starting to get p*ssed off about this...

Everything that I have read in the FS and Jedi forums is that you cannot drop Padawan once you have made that step.

Also to quote the Friday Feature on Jedi and Unlocking....

Could you explain how the second slot works?
Players must complete the Force Sensitive Quests (Publish 10) to unlock the extra slot if they have not done so already. Any and all players who put in the effort to complete the quests can gain the second slot and if a player has a second slot already, that slot will not be affected. Players may choose to develop one or both of their character as Jedi.

To me this says 2 different things.

#1 That all you would need to do are the quests to get the 2nd slot.....which is not the case, you need to do the Padawan trials too apparently.

#2 That they never intended you to be able to surrender the FS skills once you have the 2nd slot......"Players may choose to develop one or both of their characters as Jedi"...ie One WILL be jedi and the 2nd one is optional.

With this the way it is, I am pausing my active quest for the 2nd slot also. I will continue to do the FS quests as the loot is very cool (the +2K health crystal comes in very handy), but I will not train any additional skills (beyond the 2 of 3 free branches I got and trained before I really thought about it). I may never train another box in FS and I may even try to surrender the ones I have if I need those 8 skill points.

I never intended to give up music, and would just have left the points out of my template, but the 2nd slot is not that important to me. I will state that all players should have equal access to the 2nd character slot, and letting some keep their old template while others must make their old character the Jedi is not really fair. From the other side, people who unlocked early do not get the benefit of having regular skills to help their jedi 2nd slot character unless they got freebies in the conversion process.

I regained my Master Image Design crown again tonight. So now all I need to do is get back to dancing...thats the part I dread, even though I like dancing now. hehe

As far as jedi or even the second slot. I do have a second account that has a character in the village. Just got the powerup thingymabob, for doing the Melee speed quests.

I feel sorry for people who can not afford to be in the same shape I am with my two accounts. I even had three accounts for a while, but that was before a guild I was in, imploded

One of these days I think I am going to have to check out "two boxing" so I can actually give my other character some buff luvin'

Well again, thank you all....I will not pull a fool stunt like that again.
