Fellow Musicians,
I had made a decision a few days back to pursue the path of the Jedi, so that I might unlock a second character slot and then make my new character an entertainer. But the past few days I have also come to the realitization that the new character would never, ever be Durney Kova - Entertainer Extrodinaire.
Ican at times bea fickle person, and I am retracting statements about going Jedi at this time. I can not bring myself to further destroy the template that has brought so much joy to me, simply to unlock a second character. Jedi be hanged. I will continue to pay for a second account so I can continue to experience the rest of the game.
Some people when they think of their characters, think of themselves as warriors, be it a pistoleer, teras kasi practitioner, swordsman, what have you. I, even when playing other characters always think of myself first and foremost as a Musician.
I can not for the life of me understand why we entertainers are such a forgotten bunch. It seems to be such a burden on the Developers to even think about our classes. But be that as it may, I can not stand the thought of ever, ever dropping my entertainer skills and I could almost kick my own rear for dropping my Dancer skills and what little I have dropped from Image designer.
I hope you folks can overlook my moment of weakness, because I am not leaving.
LET THE MUSICIANS AWAKEN!!!!

I always tell people that the #1 reason they're unhappy with the game is because they're playing a profession that the community expects you to play rather than a profession you enjoy.
I've always followed my heart in choosing what I do in the game.
I love being a Musician. I could drop Musician and become an uber PvP template and laugh as I "pwn teh nub!1" all day long in Theed. But I'll bet you anything I own I've had more fun being a Musician during this past year than any of the "leet PvPers" in the game.
Same thing with my combat profession. The original plan was to be a CH/Pistoleer at Launch. I had decided this before Beta, before CH had become the profession to have. Why? Because training pets seemed fun to me, and I still get pangs of CH want-to-be when I see a really cool looking creature in the game. But I quit CH back when it was still the FOTM. Why? It was boring to me. Bad system and the special feeling was gone since everyone had what you had.
Played as a Pistoleer for a bit but interest started to wane again. I needed a change. I turn to a Holocron for guidance. It says Pikeman. I decide "hey, it might be fun."
I pick up Novice Brawler...
And immediately fall in love with Pikeman!
The moves!
The image!
The damage!
So here I am, still going strong as a Pikeman. Not because I like applying DOTs--it's because I smile each time I see myself do PolearmArea2 with a Long Vibro Axe.
The same smile I get when I play Dreams of the Corellian Sky for a group of people and someone in the crowd says, "Wow, the sounds really nice!"
Glad you've (re)discovered your true calling in the game, brother.

Even Vader had his moments of weakness. "You must do what you feel isright, of course." Welcome back to the light side, the right side.

Congrats on a wise decision - you did the right thing
Me, I'm having second thoughts on opening that 2nd character slot as well. I never wanted Jedi, mind you - my plan was always to get those 24 FS boxes, open the 2nd slot, then drop most FS skills on my main and go back to my original template (actually I won't have to drop that much from it anyway - I only need 6 skill points. So that's temporarily dropping Master Entertainer or a few boxes of TKA).
However, it seems that you only get the 2nd char slot when you make Padawan, and that you cannot drop Padawan once you've made that. Can anybody confirm that? Because is that's the case, I'm not all that interested anymore. Why subject myself to months of grinding only to end up with a ruined template?

Yay Durney!
I hadn't had time to express my sorrow that you would be dropping.
But now I don't have to!
I hadn't updated my status as to what I was going to do I had made a post previously about unlocking my slot, dropping everything back to my entertainment, and letting my second character become a jedi.. we know that this isn't possible of course, since you can't drop the FS skills. I do want to explore other parts of the game, so I went and bought a second account. Scip can't drop music, it wouldn't be right, he's known too well for it. And when my new character can make enough money, Scip will drop TK and pick up dancer
.
My new character's current plan is to be a swordsman/ranger. I want to make nifty camps. I don't care whatsoever what a ranger's viability is like. And I too like the moves and fun of melee combat, so that's where swordsman comes in.
Consider your moment of weakness overlooked, and let the music play on!

I've also heard if you give up your force sensitive skills, you lose your second character. I'll look and see if I can find confirmation.
I never wanted my main to become a Jedi. Wasn't that way for the entire year I spent working on him and his reputation. I'm willing to work extra hard for that second character by grinding out all this xp for skills I really don't want and don't do my character any good. However, if all that work is for nothing after returning Mo to his lifestyle... I'll just keep playing Mo and find another game to play when I want to fight.
/wonders what new games from EA and Blizzard are up and coming....

I have a bad feeling about this...
Going to do some searching. Anyone else heard anything about this?
