But first a question... Are faction-neutral guys immune to this?

Being an entertainer should be a reasonable way to escape the crackdown...

Imagine the scene... A cantina filled with all kinds of shady lowlifes, a band is playing and a couple of girls are on stage dancing. CRASH! the door flies open, in march a bunch of stormies. Who do they search? The crowd, of course. Why should they suspect the entertainers? Sure, some of us use spice but... Well... In the course of music over the years, drugs have done some good things, no?

Sure, punish the combat professions. I'm cool with that. The non-combat guys need a break. Let's face it, we can't really advance in terms of NPC missions or... well... Much else. Heh.

I have enough trouble walking to my player city (still a ways away from that shuttleport...) without much more than my trusty pistol, let alone having to fight storm troopers.

This crack-down just seems like one more kick to the teeth to the non-combatants among us. The combat professions will LOVE it. More chances to get xp. For people who don't like to fight, it's more chances to visit the cloning station.

SOE needs to stop pandering to the combat-wombats among us and pay attention to the people who are prepared to overlook the fact that the game has more bugs than a termite mound and are willing to just sit back and absorb the general Star Wars-ness of the gaming world.

Sorry if I don't like the idea of stormies interrupting my set and kicking my defenceless Twi'Lek ass.

well, uh, if you are noncombat... you probably wont have:

sliced goods

spice... as well, i for one. have never used spice while entertaining (any other time on the otherhand )

and wont be factionized, why join the gcw if you are just going to be an entertainer?

bad idea for the devs to start stealing expensive items from peeps if theres no way to prevent it or get the item back. will result in a lot of upset peeps.

i have read that item stealage will not happen, and well, yes, that would piss off alot of players, especailly me... seeing as i carry.... 7 sliced rifles, and3 sliced pistols, and well, assloads of spice (more even, for a lack of a better word)

Yes, for now the devs are saying that the Crackdown won't include confiscation of items.

Well, I seriously don't give a rats ass about the GCW. I went covert rebel just for the content, and I rarely PvP if ever. My main purpose in this game atm is to unlock my FSCS, plain and simple. I'm AFK in the cantina for hours grinding away at the entertainer skills (musician atm) in the hopes that this will unlock for me. I'm all for people who want to participate in the GCW, but for someone like me it's just another lousy piece of garbage for me to deal with while I'm grinding away. Looks like I'll be going back to neutral when the crackdown gets implemented, which is no big deal I suppose.

This is just my point of view - this game really needs are more belligerent overt imps harassing everything/everyone that happens by (/sarcasm off). It wouldn't be so bad I suppose, except the majority of the ones I've encountered seems as though they haven't made it through 7th grade yet.

Yes, I realize one of the main thrusts to this game is the GCW. That appeals to a great many people in this game, just not to me 'sall. I enjoy going on various hunts and hanging out with my friends online, so a suggestion that I go play some SP game won't even get off the ground. It's my hope (ok, pipe dream?) that the implementation of the imperial crackdown will be something that's carefully planned and well thought out (LOL, I crack myself up) so that it'll be enjoyable by people with various play styles.

Cya in game...

Hmm, I thought about this...but didnt really think about it.

This is kinda' scary...

I personally, have no CombatSkills at all...period.

I also like the fact of RP'ng a Rebel Musician, but unlike Ricky, I cant blast the Stormie when he's ragging on me.

I'm thankful I dont carry any Spices or Modified Weapons, etc...so I really dont have anything to worry about in that arena.

I am a Rebel, I chose that Faction, and to be Aligned, even when I knew I was giving up all my Combat Skills, to go after Musician/Entertainer.

So I understand the risks, and I'm willing to take them. (gulp)

...Besides, I always have Burst Run.
