Thread: Entertainer Upgrade! Quoted from the Newsletter.

Oh, and while it being an upgrade remains to be seen, there's only two things in my memory that have been called an "upgrade". The first is the combat upgrade, which is large sweeping changes that completely redefine combat. Take whatever implication from that you wish.

Entertainer Upgrade Alpha won't be ready to sandbox for 4 to 5 months? ![]()

I have to admit that the disappointment I've been feeling lately about my chosen profession may be clouding my ability to find humor/sarcasm in this...
In all seriousness... will we be hearing anything else today or within the next few days? Or is "Even an upgrade for entertainers" really what Tyrant had in mind when he told us we'd "get an exciting announcement this week"?

P.S. The way "Even" is used in that statement is exactly why I am trying to convince myself to surrender my musician skills...
It doesn't matter what TH's true intentions were there... I've been here since launch and know exactly where we stand.
I was actually taking it to mean they'd have a few things for us in the next publish.
To me, that is exciting.
Distant proposals is NECESSARY.
Our end of the game is in bad shape... Of course they need to address it (After the CURB).
The only thing that was going to make me happy/excited was some love coming live very soon.
Okay, at least a very large document about changes to the entire entertainment systems.
That could have been exciting to me, I suppose.
Put self buffs in RIGHT NOW
At least put some partial restraints on AFK play for the time being until a complete sollution is found (I mean something including entertainers... not just combat).

Okay, I've come to my senses... LOL, this isn't "The Announcement" and our Corrs are working right now trying to put something together or get something from SOE that they can post for us.
Now I see... our Corrs were just showing off that SOE is using the words "Upgrade"... as in, big big focus.

We're trying to get more information on exactly what the announcement is/was supposed to be. The truth is, we don't know. We can guess, knowing what's going on behind the scenes. But we don't know when they will choose to release any or all of the details. However, we have been giving advice on how not to make announcements that will piss off entertainers unnecessarily, and they have listened, at least in other cases./badfeeling...
The worst that could happen would be that's all they have to say. That won't change that there are things being worked on right now. In fact, the lack of more information would more likely be a sign that things are being revised after getting some feedback from the correspondents.
I know lack of information could be frustrating. Hang tight a bit though, your correspondents are trying to get more information.

Umm, nope... the worst that could happen was if SOETyrant really honestly thought that THIS "announcement" was what would make us entertainers believe in the Devs and in our future as a viable profession again. That he really took it for granted that we would actually be grateful for THIS.
THAT is the worst that could happen.

In my opinion, the absolute worst thing that could happen (keeping to this topic) is to see what they have planned and the direction they are going and be completely against and disappointed in it's direction.
That's why an announcement that things will happen does absolutely nothing for me... I want to see what they think is good for the entertainers and this game, to see if we're on the same page (Or even close at all).

That wasn't the big news. I asked over the weekend and posted in other threads, the big news was delayed to consider correspondent feedback. It is still coming, just a little delayed.
Some how that isn't very comforting, and instead leads me to feel... extremely scared that they were all set to go with it, with out first getting our Cors feedback let alone ours...
