I am sooooo upset about the movement thing


I love(d) running around seeing the scenery, egg hunting, surveying, etc. I spent most of my game time standing around or shuddering as I moved short distances last night. Absolutely no enjoyment from moving through areas was had. It reminds me of playing the PS2, so am thinking combat will start looking that way too......BORING


so question....


how do you change to walk mode only? Looks like my game is reduced to walking, standing still, or dancing now See if the walk is more tolerable than this.

In the options menu, there is a setting that is for auto-run. I think it's on the controls tab, but not 100% sure.


I didn't really notice the snappy movements until I needed to move a few items in my warehouse and kept lurching around the spot I wanted to drop things at. And that was using the shift key to walk. I don't care for the twitch and snap movements (I suck at games like Quake and Unreal where it's the norm) and would like to see them removed if it's making people sick and dizzy. The insta-run and super-stop are pretty lame animations and totally ruin the feel of the game.


God forbid, if this turns into SWG - An Empire FPS, I'll be going back to play Morrowind and KOTOR.

I don't think the snappy movement is terrible but I would rather have the old style.

If they are going to keep it they need to tweak the animations.

Apparently, they've toned down the snappiness of the new movement. It's up on TestCenter now, and a Focus Thread is available to talk about the changes.

just a tip for those of you who havent experienced the snappiness on hills. DONT. I dont get nausea while playing games - never have. but on dathomir and on yavin while going up a steep hill I nearly passed out.


I am not entirely too sure why, but it was bad.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've been fortunate enough not to get messed up by it, although the first night I definately had to look away every time I stopped running. I didn't get too dizzy if I looked, but I could feel it playing with my head... like I had to shake the cob-webs out.
Hehe, I actually was shaking my head each time I stopped (Half in disbelief and half trying to shake that weird jolting stop from my noggin).
Why'd they make this game less attractive?

Anyhoo... I hopped on to Test...
They've slightly improved it, but they still have a ways to go, in my opinion.

It really bothers me that they didn't bother to go throgh this process after recieving all the feedback on Test Center.
Really bothers me.
More people didn't need to get sick and the Live Game didn't have to be dragged down by this low standard movement animation.

That publish had some other nice fixes in it... they're totally overlooked because of thier absolute stuborness on not fixing that "Snappy" movement.
