might be a little off topic

but do you get UXP off sold instruments?

if not I dont really see the reasoning behind not being able to make your own when you need it.

by the time you find one on the market your already up to the next instrument.

10cr per unit is a good price for selling resources at. Once those resources are combined into an instrument, something only a musician can do, the market value goes up. I use 10cr per unit as a good rule of thumb for my overhead cost (sometimes I will find a good deal on resources at the bazaar and make a bunch of instruments from that), and then charge what I think I would pay for an instrument. (See the original post for price list) Keep in mind also that just because someone is selling instruments in Bestine, doesn't mean they are selling them in Coronet, and a roundtrip ticket will run 1600 cr. Add that to the price of an instrument and it gets expensive fast! I'd recommend traveling around and finding planets that need instruments - selling a kloo for 1500 will just about pay for travel expenses.

Don't think you get UXP for instruments. I've sold over 20 instruments and haven't gotten any messages to that effect.

Musiciansdo not recieve any xp for makinginstruments.

I price instruments based on material cost + how much of a PITA in was for me to sell it. Until today, I think, I was really the only source of higher skill instruments on my server. I was having to supply the markets in Tatooine, Naboo, and Corellia.

Now that some other musicians are getting some of the tech tree, I can start slacking off again and mostly do requests. If I don't have to travel or use my minerals, I only charge a small tip for my time and allow the buyer to personalize it with a name of their choice.

If I have to use my materials I start getting expensive, since I have to shop around for decent quality minerals and all the markets on my server seem to sell the stuff I need for 10cr per unit or more. Trying to get soft wood on Tatooine is not fun, nor cheap. My worst prices are on bazzar sold stuff on planets I don't normally spend time on.

I'll make pretty much anything but a Narlagon. I don't plan on ever making more than one of those. Personally I see it as something every musician should do for themselves, since they'll be able to make it before they can play it.

Anyhow, if you're on Kettemoor at least, your bestoption isto get the materials needed to craft it and just let me or another Musician know. If you can make it to me, great. If not, I'll have to charge you the travel fee if I have to come to you.

Or you can be like Tadd and keep buying stuff off the bazzar.. =P

Aziz, what materials are required for a Nalargon? Tech IV is going to be my last skill before master, and I just dinged to Tech III this morning... so I'd like to start getting supplies together.

100 Wood, 150 Metal for Nalargon...or it might be the other way around.

I had to try it and it worked. Knowing full well that the only people who can PLAY a Nalargon are those who can MAKE it, I put one up on the Bazaar and it SOLD. LOL!

These are my prices, and I really think you are overpricing them, but that's just imho. I have harvesters running for the materials, so I don't think it's a lot of work for a 30-40 resource item.

I doubt you receive uxp for instruments.

I've pretty much set the price of instruments for the demand of the market and what I think I would pay for an instrument. When I first started seling instruments...just fizzz's at first, they went fast. Then I was able to make Fanfars and Kloo's and they sold well at first. I put maybe 2 of each instrument I could make (kloo, fanfar, fizzz, slither) and theysold well. When I did that the second round, things are slowing to a crawl. I put that combination in two cities, and sells are coming very slow. I'm thinking that most entertainers have their instruments now and that some people are taking up musician as a second profession or not a serious profession, so sells will come slower on that.

A better market now might be the higher lvl instruments...but I chose to take the knowledge route first.

I'm not an Artisan tho, aside from the basic surveying skills. All I did was plant harvesters for the resources. Those are cheap! I run 1 flora farm and one mineral harvester. Aluminum and wood, all day long. Tips keep them running, and now so do instrument revenues.

I think the prices on Chilastra, in Coronet City are over priced as well. But I'm not selling instruments yet and there only seems to be one person making the high end stuff. I'm also willing to pay those high prices, I can afford it.

Tech does not give you the ability to play the instrument. it gives you the ability to make it. I had to climb tech then knowledge back and forth because I was the first. But the fastest XP route is to buy your instruments from a master and climb the Knowledge tree first them come back and do the tech tree at a higher xp rate.
