Using /conv from the stage (more efficient), or bringing friends to run through most of the audience for you (more fun), are the two best methods to handle this. Yes 24hours is a long time, 6 would be more fair, but waiting gives you time to talk to other people, help other performers, possibly warn them, and prepare for next time.

Before I rant, which I hate to do on these forums, I want to say some positive things about the new missions.

The missions themselves are not inspired but passable. After all how much content is there for musician missions besides inserting a DDR type mini game? This is actually one of the more creative solutions I have seen using the existing Music/Dance system. The new song sounds great on bandfill and madoviol. Have not seen the dance yet but have high hopes.

Now for the negative.

Well almost26 hours now and still being told I have to wait 24 hours. This is highly annoying.

The 24 hour wait itself is irritating but understandable. However the 24 hour wait being longer than 24 hours and not getting a notification like "come back in XX hours and try again" is just aggrivating. If I could be told that I have X amount of time to wait before I can try again I could stop waisting time annoying the NPC every 15 minutes or so since my 24 hours was up by a normal time piece. For all I know I could be bugged but since I get a generic message and not something like come back in 45978653876438 hours and try again to know that the system is insane I will not know. If I still can't try again tomorrow I will be hoping to talk to a CSR.

____Update____

At 26 Hours I was able to do my performance at last. Apparently the server down time does stop the clock, I have heard it both ways on this issue. Annoying but doable. I still say some kind of notification of time remaining would be useful.

I'm not denying the fact that you should have to wait.....I'm just saying the wait should be reduced a little. Like to 6 hours.

There isn't just one theatre....plenty of planets and cities have theatres, so the overcrowding issue isn't even real, and since the performances only last 2 minutes, I'm sure no one would have a problem waiting for someone else to finish, or just go to another theatre if they can't wait 2 minutes.

Final Performance is 5 minutes with a 3 minute period of being able to talk with the audience.

Yes 8 minutes is not much longer, but if there are a couple people waiting on the stage the way it worked was that the stage did not clear til the person spoke with the manager again. With there being no wait, that person usually got dibs on the next performance. It got a little ugly.

Yes there are many theatres, but most people will be using the theatres in the most populated cities...Coronet and Theed (and the Theed one is not close to anything). Yes I may not have a wait in Narmle, but I only go there once a month or so.

Well I personally like it. (I seem to always be the Devil's advocate in the forums. )

Because, I think it adds more tension and realism to the performance. If it was not in there, everyone would just take the audition... not take it seriously... spam a bunch of macros.......... fail, /rinse;/repeat until they succeed, and that would be lame.

imho

Go ahead.... counter my argument........ don't just be a coward one-star ninja...

So instead then all those that do take it "seriously" go do their best fail and wait 25-26 hours to rinse, repeat and fail again.. and get to wait 25-26 hours again all because of random rolls by the game... then we get to pay 400k for it. (That seems a lot more lame to me.) Honestly as a time sink/more fun version of the quest. It would be better to have to wait 24 hours when you pass. And when you fail you have to travel to another NPC manager to try again.(which the last part would seem to not be an easy thing to do as they all appear to be connected). But then EVERYONE would have the time sink. NOT just those that get hit with lag or random rolls that are utterly useless.

My thought exactly which is why the time sinks should be built in for everyone doing the quest by making them wait after each pass. But /shrug to late now.

Hmm btw I didn't mean by the counter to say that I 1 starred you. I pretty much only 1 star bot support threads.

I could see waiting 24 hours for a Jedi quest or some other extremely high end content, like certain spawns.

But to have to wait 24 hours to play a song again? What was the reasoning behind this? Why does everything have to be a time sink now?

This is a direct result of the DEVs not being bright enough to actually develop any real content. They have no clue as to how real people who might actually have some social skills would act so they just put in a poorly conceived and implemented "quest" and put in an overly long timer to try and strech it into something more than a few minutes long.

SOE, hire some people who know what they are doing, the ones you have now sure don't.

Patience is a virtue and people should have to wait. 24 hours is excessive. If someone like me, who has done pretty much all there is to do in this game but the quest I was working on, you sortof want to work on that only and just get it done.

Patienece is virtue???????????
Sorry Lebob now your starting to sound assinine.
24 hours is eccessive, 8 to 12 would of been plenty
As far as getting the crowd to respond from the stage sorry its not working for all, with a macro setup to /conv the closest ones were ok but the majority of them wouldnt.
Lag can be a real pain in the behind with this as its the reason I failed the very first performance.

So, is there something I am supposed to do before I get on stage for the audition? Just starting the musician entertainer quest.

I took the audition, it said I have 30 seconds to get to the stage, but when I got there in 10 seconds I got a message that I failed because I left the stage during the audition. WHAT? 20 seconds later I got another failure message for not being on stage in 30 seconds. I WAS ON STAGE THAT WHOLE TIME. For someone who doesn't read the boards all the time, and have everything in the game completely explained before I try it, this is beyond me. Can someone tell me if this is a known bug, as there is no ingame description of what else I am supposed to do. I have to wait 24 hours anyway, which is ridiculous. Another damn time sink.

(didn't read the whole forum... just saw this thread and had to reply... hope i did it right) I agree with Kraftomatic... There has to be a wait time but i think take off about 6 hours and it would make a lot of people happier... and an 18 hour wait time would benifit those who failed at 11:00pm... /whistle.
