I feel the same way about the time gate & xp 'punishment/cost'. I can live with both of em i just think its interesting that it hits entertainers first. You'll have to forgive my suspicious nature folks, i have been a master CH since first month of game and we got nerfed almost a year ago as the first stage to the revamp that never happened, leaving us gimped for no reason this whole time. I cant help but see a similar thing happening with this 'XP fine for new content' thing we entertainers are experiencing. Where we're told its the 1st move a new plan but it never actually moves beyond just us. But i guess time will tell eh?
And for the record, im not trying to be negative or bitter here. Just bringing some interesting comparisons to the table for food for thought.
*Checks his watch to see how long till he can go home and try the ent quests again!* 8)

This is rediculous...Mygirlfriend and I managed to passour auditions. Got 10 people to listen/watch us. So far, so good.
Went to try the quest, and utterly failed. Why, you ask? I got two useful messages from the audience, and she got none. That's right, NONE. No clue what they want to see and what they don't. No clue what flourishes they want or don't want. Nothing.
Unless there's some code behind, 'I hope to become a bounty hunter someday', 'I had a chef make me a meal today and it was horrible', and 'Your clothes don't seem to match'.
Now to wait another day for this.... 'content'... what a crock.
First they ask for our input and feed back, then totally ignore us when we give it. The 24 hour period is just stupid. Make it an hour to reflect on your performance, and brush up on your social skills. Any more than that is just reinforcing that urge to hit the cancel button, go play Mortal Kombat, and be greatful I've already paid in full for my copy of Halo2.

What would make more sense is if you had to redo the "promotion" part of the quest to redo the "performance". I.E. You fail your performance so you have to go "promote" to thirty people again.

Bad luck on not getting the hints from the audience. I hope at least one or two gave you a laugh, I still chuckle at the afk dancer one.
Then again, I remember the first iteration of this on TC, back before the audiences went in and we were flying blind, 24 hours was rather annoying then. But I understood it as trying to stop one person frommonopolising the theatre (since the code does block a second person going on stage)
All in all, 24 hrs isn't too bad. It wasn't the best for testing tho since you couldn't repeatedly fail quickly to test bugs.

You're only saying that because you've got the song!
I should have it tonight!

I have failed the performance after the get 20 people to listen part twice now. The first time when I talked to the audience I got a Song and a flourish they didn't like, plus a flourish they did. The second time through I got two flourishes they liked, one they didn't but no songs were mentioned... I even had a freind go round /conv the audience for me that time.
I have a questionfor those that passed how much did you flourish? Twice per tick? Or did you spam flourishes?

My monitor got a good smack last night in frustration
I tried the quest two days ago and failed because I stopped a song at a change instead of changemusic.
Last night I went back around the time I thought I had done it and waited an hour until it'd let me do it again. Walked out on stage waiting for them to tell me what song to play.....tells me to play folk...I start it right away...see my guy start playing and 2 seconds later it tells me I failed because I didn't start it in time.
Had someone with me that saw my animations start but even on DSL only thing I can think of is lag.
Guess tonights another go at it

On Test, I started playing on stage before the judges talked to me, and then I quickly /changed to the song the judges asked for. Does that still work?

Ohhhhhh....that is a great idea if you don't fail for having the wrong song going when they tell you what to play. Always get that startup lag but not on a Changemusic.....
Thank You!!

Woot! Finally got the quest finished last night. hehehe.
I was fortunate in that i got a song and 2 flourishes the crowd did want to hear and at least 1 song and/or flourish they DIDNT want to see for all the shows i did.
I didnt set up any macros for the quests. I just had all my flourishes on my toolbar. For the audition i typed /startmusic while I waited for the judges to tell me what to play, that way as soon as they asked i had the /startmusic menu open and waiting to click their song. Then i would type /change so i was ready for the next time they asked for a song change. That way i just had to type in the song name and hit enter. During the concerts i would just manualy click the flourishes buttons repeatedly. I had 2 friends with me helping during the last 2 concerts so we made sure to talk to EVERY audience member. Because we did that i went ahead and used all flourishes that they didnt say they didnt want to see for every other flourish. So if they wanted Flo 3 and didnt want flo 1 i would do flos like this... 3,2,3,4,3,5,3,6,3,7,3,8, etc, etc. Hopefully that makes sense to everyone. I didnt use a single stage effect at all at any point.
I would say that if you only are told what flourishes they want to see and none that they dont want to ONLY use the flourishes they want, even if its a single flourish. My fiance who is a dancer had this happen and she just did the 1 song they wanted and the 1 flourish they wanted over and over and over for 1 of her shows and she passed just fine.
The promoting parts of the quests wasnt that bad really. We parked in front of the coronet starport directly inbetween the 2 buff lines (close enough so folks could watch and listen to us without leaving their lines). And i sent a tell message to each and everyone in the lines and then as new people came out of the starport once i got everyone in the lines. I was sure to be very polite and brief so they didnt feel hassled. I think i was saying something like "Would you possibly be willing to help me and wife by watching/listening to us for a moment for the new entertainer quests?" 99% of the folks immediately did so, and some asked about the quests cuz they hadnt heard about em (imagine that! hehe). But everyone was very friendly and helpful. By sending tells we avoided spamming the area to death, although a number of the people that helped us turned around and started spamming to get more folks to help. hehehe. quite cool of em. /deepbow to Iceflames and Fonzi for that.
it didnt take long at all to get thru these stages.
Here's my thoughts on the spamming for the quests. If you spam your request for people to watch ya people are more inclined to ignore ya, if they even read the spam at all. If you send them a tell directly they know you are there and your speaking directly to them so they seem to be more inclined to help. To support this there was a dancer that was spamming in the same place THE WHOLE TIME we were doing all of the quest stages and she still hadnt gotten her 20 during the same time that my wife and I got our 10/20/30 and did all our shows, i think thats pretty telling.
On a side note i was contacted via tell by 2 entertainers during the course of all this asking what new entertainer quests i was refering to. I thought that was a bummer. Not towards them but towards how these quests were handled (ie; lack of communication from devs).
Hopefully this helps someone out there, and sorry for how long this ended up being...
