THis is stupid I was on stage front and center when it told me to start playing and I did then it said to much time has elasped. The NPC's didn't even tell me what flourishes not a single one and i talked to every NPC waiting 24 hours is so stupid.

I think the new quest was pretty cool. Added something for me to do that took me 3 days, yes I failed on the second concert had to wait 24 hours but that meant it was bedtime the second day beforeI got to do that concert again. The goal is well worth the effort. I kind of wished they would make combat people wait 24 hours when they screw up, life isn't all go go go, sometimes we need to sit and reflect, chat and not stress over something. It'll happen. Just my comments.

Groovy, I have to prostitute myself to an NPC for a new song... Hopefully I can perform to its programmed satisfation. Maybe I'm overreacting or maybe things just aren't living up to my expectations...

All I know is I have had no desire to log on since this "quest".

I agree that the quest is difficult, and the 24 hour wait is rediculous. However, that very fact is what's going to keep the buffbots and LAMErs from getting it. Look at it as a reward for those who care about more than best experience/buffing ability.

Now that they have the code implemented to track and give a system message when somebody is watching/listening to you, I think they should keep that ingame. I can't tell you how many times I've had a buff fail because the patron simply wasn't watching/listening to me, but somebody else. Besides, it's nice to know who's getting the attention in the group.

Maybe even keep the player patronage counter going with an update to your character page, like a badge. Something like: ...has entertained 4,832 people.

No, you don't get it, my ability as an entertainer is being judged by aroom full of NPC monkeys. Everything I have done in the past means absolutely NOTHING becauseitsin the hands of these NPC monkeys if I'm worthy of a new song, if I'm a "good" enough entertainer according to their lil programmed bot brains.

Quests are not suppose to make you feel bad, I need that like I need a HD failure.

If this is the best they can come up with as far as content, well then I'm pretty disappointed.

I mean what is worst, a buffbot orhaving to play to a bunch ofbot monkeys who will judge if you are worthy. This istoo many steps beyond geeky and into the creepy territory. NPC monkeys programmed by someone with NO clue as to what entertaining is. I don't play to unappreciative audiances, NPCs included.

But you know what, this may not stifle my creativity as a feel a real good song about Devs coming on that I will be sure to audition at major starports across the galaxy. Oh it may be an old melody but it will be a new song indeed. Anyone who knows me knows that I can and will do it, and it will be good for some laughs.

This is personal now.

I have to agree that the new content is...unsatisfying. Personally I found it very uninspired. A bunch of call/response between robots ("Do flourish 2. Good, do flourish 3. Good, now pat your head and rub your tummy, horn monkey") and begging people to listen to you. The begging part was ripped out of the newbie droid quests, so our "post-Master" content is just an extension of the basic Novice droid quests. So, really, they kind of took the easy route with that part of it. Whoopee, they changed a 7 in the code to a 10, 20, or 30.

The 24 hour gating period is pretty frustrating.

At least it's something, the Smugglers (just as an example) could only dream of some kind of quest for them. Of course, we have one, but it's really not much of one. And since we just get 1 song, I'm really hoping people don't get burned out on it within a week.

I certainly agree that this is not exactly thrilling content. I'm still sour-faced over the 400k xp requirement, which unnecessarily penalizes us before any other profession if you're pursuing Force Sensitivity. I don't really care who gets what later on, the put is it's now the early stages of FS and now isn't the coolest time to say to Dancers and Musicians - "choose between new content and setting yourself behind in the FS process, or the same dance/songs you've had forever and moving a little closer to Jedi!"

Nobody should get the silent treatment we got during our testing and development, either. That was totally uncalled for. That's not how customers should be treated.

Meh.

You're not the only one frustrated and disappointed, trust me.

I also find it extremely weird and depressing that the audience, by default, starts out as Very Unsatisfied.

What the hell audience goes to a concert and by default is totally displeased with who's on stage? I'd probably be excited to see someone play, unless they were terrible or something.

Would have been more....positive....if the audience started out Very Satisfied unless you screwed up somehow. Instead, we have to "prove ourselves" to robots, which is sort of weird, instead of keep the bots happy.

I also think if the NPC's cheered for us, instead of sat on their hands like stones, it would make it a bit more of a good time. They could cheer stuff instead having us go to them - last concert I went to, I didn't see the performer running around the audience, haha. Along the lines of that yokel at concerts who yells, "Play FREEBIRD, MAN!"

You know Warryr, i really don't know why anyone else bothers to post.

You have such a way with words and i completely agree with everything you have said so far regarding the quest.

I would like clarification from someone within LucasArts about what the purpose of the Entertainer, Musician and Dancer classes are supposed to be. (I think Image Designer is pretty self-evident.)

I think the players who are still devoting time and effort into actually playing these professions have a radically different set of goals and expectations than the developer 'working' on them. If we could get official statements on what our purpose is supposed to be, rather than having to conjecture, at least we could address the issue meaningfully within our intended purpose in the Galaxies.

And those of us who don't agree with the purpose as LucasArts sees how we should fulfill it would at least know from the outset that our opinions didn't matter. (I seriously doubt the way I would like to see Musician/Dancer work is ever going to be realized.)

Warryr is one of the most upstanding and proud entertainers on the boards, or at least he talks like one.

Yes Warryr, Very good points. They should be extremely happy to have someone even stoop so low as to play to their bot butts

After watching so many ppl either pass or fail a show I have come to the conclusion that its all luck and that the devs built in fails by making the audiance uncooperative at times. I think its extremely unfair that one has to wait 24 hours after their programmed failure. This quest is causing a great deal of unrest in the unlucky. Slapping and punching the Theator Manager only helps so much...

Personally I feel it is BS and shows a real lack of imagination on the part of the person or persons who put together this "quest".

I don't know why entertainers are always the ones who have to bear the brunt of their lack of interest in our professions and the shoddy way they "fix" things that adversely effect our performances.

As a pure entertainer it becomes very depressing trying to have some hope in the future by reflecting on the past and present.

Why do the choose to grief us all for a new song? Is this what we have to look forward too? More of this?

I went ahead and did the first show again and passed, then went to second show and failed due to lack of information getting only to neutral. I hate this stupid quest. It is bumming out all my game play.

It is depressing me. It is giving me extreme distain for the developers. I think I am beginning to hate them now even though I have never met them and I suppose they are ok people in RL... But its them that is bringing out these feelings, its them that has taken away my fun and interest and making me feel like a failure. I hate them for this. The more I think about it the more mad I get. I know its a game but it shouldn't make me feel this way, this is not a fun experience for me. I hate them.
