Hi this is probably a low priority but I would suggest a tip sound when someone tips you. The other night I was playing a Nar. I had 808 credits in my pockets and when I looked again about 20mins later I had 10,808 credits I tried to back track the spial to see who tipped me so I could thank them but I couldn't find it. So I do't know if its from 4 people or someone gave me a 10,000 credit tip, I totally missed the system message.

I know someone suggested a noise I agree like cash machine sound....like CHA CHING or like a big $ sign on the screen somewhere, or have a dollar sign over someones head that gave you a tip for a few seconds. Something to know who gave you a tip. The system message goes to fast I still don't see why a master musician should still be spammed even though they don't need exp anymore.

HealingHands: There's a great way to colorize your tips in red so that they stand out when you get a tip. Go to CTL 0; Chat Colors; then type in a phrase you want colorized (I suggest two or three: "tips you", "successfully received" [bank credits], and "heals you"); then choose colorize entire sentence; then assign a color. Presto, every time you are tipped, the tip message will appear in red. With this fix, I rarely if ever miss tips any more.

SinnAsyr: Yep, both of your issues are top priorities with others. In fact, they are #1 and #2 on our top-five list for Musicians, as compiled a few weeks ago. (See my thread on the Correspondent's Report.) The devs have replied by promising more instruments, songs, flourishes, and effects, but they haven't given us any timetable. We'll be generating an updated top-five list once the devs hire a new person to coordinate Correspondent issues.

I wholeheartedly agree! I also dislike that the FX do not actually assist with any healing or other function but are an action drain. They are fun for performance, but what if they had a mind healing effect? Then you could only have that ability when you got to the FX levels. Would make musicians much more valuable to the other players.

OOPS, didn't let you know what I was replying to! /grin. ...... was trying to suggest FX for mind healing ability in regards to following statement. Sorry for any confusion.

"I already mentioned this once, but I guess it should be in this thread.

I still think the number one thing broken with Entertainers (and Musicians) is our ability to heal. Yes we can heal BF and Mind wounds, but we cannot heal mind damage. In fact to my knowledge NOTHING in the game can. This is completely broken, imo, because both the other HAM bars can be healed but the mind cannot? Some profession in this game should be able to do that, I think it already fits with entertainer since we're responsible for the BF and mind wounds already. I would like to see the entertainer utilized more like a bard so we can get out of those cantinas. Hell, I don't care make us carry around a "cantina" bot like the other healers in the game have to.

P.S. Still drooling over the thought of instrument experimentation ability. Customizing and increased to quality for better xp, etc. (Snowy dreams of opening her own music shop one day !) If any others are interested, could you please sound out? I know it will not be possible unless there is enough interest. Please help a wookie girl's dreams come true.

Dalak and SnowyLuv, Holo has just posted a message indicating that the devs may in fact add a mind heal to the game. Holo says he's considering adding such an ability for Squad Leaders, Entertainers, or Medics. You can find his post via Dev Tracker (title something like"Holo says Mind Damage is not supposed to be the determining factor in combat"); I've also posted the URL in a separate thread in this forum devoted to the subject.

In Holo's thread, I chimed in with my personal view (not necessarily that of all Musicians) that a mind heal would be great for entertainers. I think it makes less sense for Medics: they're already highly sought-after, they're already frantically busy in groups, and they deplete their own Mind pool when they heal now. I do think it makes sense for Squad Leaders. What do you all think?

MUSICIANS and DANCERS should be able to heal mind damage. Give us a reason to BE Musicians and Dancers, since right now we are as useful as we were when we were novice entertainers.

Whatever we do, do NOT change it so newbies can play the same songs as masters. Newbies should be honored that you will play with them, not the other way around. Walk into a place where the Red Hot Chili Peppers are playing and ask to jam with them (assume for the moment that youare okayat bass guitar and that's what you are going to play) Then play opposite Flea, you'll notice that you would NOT be able to play some of the more complicated riffs that he can, but that he can play down to you and throw in a few tweaks (flourishes) that you can't. Perhaps that might be the way to go about doing this, allow us some tweaks that masters can do and newbies can't. That way we can make even beginners songs sound complicated and make not only OUR sound better, but make the newbies look good too.

Scatter pistol and launcher pistol are two examples...

There is no need to rationalize a realistic reason to why MEs get the mandoviol. It's a good perk for ME and it's enough incentive to make MM's that wouldn't normally go ME want to get it. Can you think of any other thing that ME's could have that would make MM's envious enough to want to get it? That is the point. The fact that so many musicians really wish mando was in the musician prof is proof that it is a good idea for ME's to get it.

Besides more songs, how about CH being forced to store their pets outside the cantina

Good idea

And I know this is gonna make master entertainers whine, but I'm gonna whine about mandoviol. I mean why should somebody who isn't even a novice musician be able to play a song and instrument that MASTER MUSICIAN cannot? I think when you get to master musician you should get them music part of rmaster entertainer by default.

I find it hard to believe that you are forced to waste both time and skill points in irrellevent skills to gain abilities for a different part of a proffesion. By all means give some sort of reward for becomming master entertainer. But why should I be able to change somebodys hair to be able to play mandoviol? That is just plain stupid.

Oh brother, it's not a punishment. This argument is a dead horse and everyone should just get over it already.

Trust me I am over it. Like we have BOTH said, I don't want it THAT much.

But I am still entitled to my opinion just as you are. And it's my opinion that it is stupid to have to do ID and dance to get musical skills.

I agree that there should be some incentive but not one that makes you have to do it to complete a single skill set.
