I don't really want to go into specifics here as it will only encourage the zombies but if they are able to either use this chair/targeting macro or run a target leader macro i think we will be in the same boat with zombie player cantinas and lifeless corpses cluttering up npc city cantinas that we was with mind buffs

The thing that will prevent them from doing this is that in the process of giving the buff, you must select the buff from a window that pops up to be able to apply it. This isn't the case with the "General" buff, which you don't have to select (or do anything) to apply; but for all other buffs, you must select the buff from the window, something that cannot be done through legal means.

Esh and I tested it, she buffed me up to playing a Traz... and I couldn't craft it with a generic kit. So as long as it can be crafted with a generic and doesn't need a tool kit (I don't remember, I hardly ever make my own even on my Master Musicians), then no it doesn't buff you into the schematic as well.

Edit: Esh corrected me

Correct. This would just attempt to start an inspiration on a player named weaponsmith and a player named chef. It would not select the particular buff.

The only thing that I don't like about the new buffing system is that not all players can get the buff they want from you. For example: I have a BE/Chef customer that buffs from me all the time, but I am a Musician. The new system basically costs me a customer, unless I change my template. I did not see this discussed in the thread so far, so I thought I would bring it up. Yes, I have a little dance from Master Entertainer, but not enough skill points to take on novice dancer. I'm not particularly fond of doing dance for the most part. Sure, there are potentially new customers, but it still seems odd that a single master performer is excluded from providing a service to entire segments of the population base.

I'ts not analagous to the separation of pre-CU Music/Dance buffs, as all players normally got one of each buff from a Musician and Dancer. I had a few pre-CU customers that had much of their mind stats migrated to secondaries and preferred the music buff over the dance.

It is an improvement over the hand we've been dealt. Why does there have to be a downside

No.

The rate of application is the same for a novice ent and a Master Musician - 10 minute buff for 10 seconds listen.

The musical enhance skill determines the Max Duration of the buff. A novice ent can only give a 1hr 18min buff, a Master can give over 3hrs (a quad master twi can do 3hrs 28min, there seems to be a slight mix with dance and music but we aren't sure on that)

I've drafted a guide which can be found in the entertainer forum and answers (I hope) most questions people have on the new buffs.
