Thread: What question should we ask next? Please vote here.

What "Question for the developers"should we ask next when our turn comes around in two weeks? If we keep going down our Top Five list, the next possibilities would include content; better gig missions and more quests generally; whether crafting experimentation will ever matter; AFK'ing; nalargon/ommni targeting; and player theaters. Or we could try to pin them down to a better answer on the buff UI, or ask about buff duration. But we can probably guess the answer to many of those questions, so I'm open to other suggestions.

One suggestion in particular appeals to me: asking about how the Force will help entertainers. Right now, the Force-related skill trees don't seem to have much for entertainers. If we're going to ask about this, sooner is probably better than later, since the Jedi revamp is just around the corner. For that reason, a question like this would be my preference. We could also ask about Spy or Persuade or Mind Trick skills for entertainers.

Again, though, I represent you, not me, so I'll abide by whatever question you choose. So please post here what you'd propose for our next Question for the devs.

I'm still reeling from the third part of the last answers.

I also think you are correct in that we can probably answer many of the "top 5" ones ourselves based on the types of answers received in the last set by everyone.

Yes, you speak for us, but I trust you NJ....you see more that goes on behind the scenes than we do so you can probably be more topical than we can. I like your idea about force skills.....but I believe that our question needs to be phrased more explicitly:

What force skills will you be implementing for specific advantage to the musician profession? Will they be implemented with the Jedi system, or how soon after? If the answer is "NONE" may we provide a list of suggested skills that would be specific to this profession for developer consideration?

I like that formulation, Fragpuppie.

For what it's worth, I just logged onto TC2 for the first time; heh, I'm Force-Sensitive. The server crashed before I chose all my Force-sensitive powers, but I sure didn't see anything that sounded like it helps entertainers. There is Luck and Persuasion, but I have no clue what those really do. Actually, I think I have two Jedi, so I'll use my Musician to take Luck, Persuasion, etc., and use my other to fight.

Also, I haven't had any dev reply to my thread about FS-powers in the Correspondent Forum, though I have had a dozen supportive replies from other Correspondents. Hmm.

Anyway, what do others think about our next question?

I'd like to know more info regarding the new songs and instruments, but I highly doubt that would happen.

I'd also like to know the possibilty of being able to walk (not run) while playing...

And theatres, theatres have always irked me.

OK, Psylion. Keep 'em coming, folks.

I'm thoroughly confused about my two Force-Sensitive guys on TC2. They're fussing with skill points and training and whatnot, so I haven't had a chance to test whether Luck or Persuasion or Healing helps us. Back to it now...

Persuasion is a smuggler thing.

I would like to see something about force too. Frappie seemed to hit on the head for me.

I'm not disgusted by our answer..just not sure they understand how important an interface is so that we can see that our buffs are being applied. (Too much griefing going on) /off soapbox

Oh yes! A HUGE question I have...before the latest Publish hit TC, someone had supposedly read files of some sort and noticed an entertainer class named "Acrobat". Whether or not we should ask this is up to you. Since he DID read the behind the scenes stuff to get this info, I'm not sure if that's legal or whatnot.

Up to you, trying to dig up the post right now.

EDIT: Found...here ya go. It's not in the initial post, it's the next list he posts. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=jedi&message.id=372048

We might as well ask about Force-sensitive entertainers. Althoughtbh I think we all know what the answer will be. It should be prettyobvious by now that entertainers are clearly not as important in the Dev's eyes as just about any other class.

That's something that should somehow be included in our question: the point that entertainers were supposed to be the third play-stale next to crafters and combat and yet never seem to get nearly as much attention as either of those. So we should also ask how this looks from the Dev's point of view now: will entertainers continue to be developed at the same pace as all other professions, or are we always to be the ones who (if they're lucky) get some scraps tossed as an afterthought while SOE's attention remains fixed on (in that order) Jedi, Combat, and Crafting?

That may actually be a question all by itself, maybe for the session after the next one.

I think our question should be "What are you smoking and where can we get it... cause we'll need it to fight off this boredom that's going on while we sit in a cantina all day talking to buffbots and afk spammers..."

Here's howhe'll answer if we ask about force abilities: "NO force abilities for you! Girlfriend should stay back in the cantinas while we menfolk go out and about getting force abilities--and don't wear shoes!AND STAND STILL.You'll get songs with the Jabba Casino Themepark, okay? We'd have finished by nowbut those people responsible had to work on JTL. I think the Casino kind of looks like a theater, so there go, happy now?"

Again, there's an exploit to walk/run while playing music. But know that this exploit involves breaking the server from holding you in place. Thismeans the devs, for whatever reason, actually spent time coding tomake sure we stand still. Nothing drives them more nuts, afk'ers, spammers, buffbots,NOTHING drives them more nuts than circumventing their code, whatever it is. So keep quite about it, and never tell a soul. You should be able to figuire it out from what I've written, clues, but not enough so the devs will know. Never let the devs know!!! Iwant this particular exploit kept secret, do you agree? This is why I'm sure you could forgive me notblatantly layingout how to do it here. Ask around in-game, talk topeople. They know, people know, they just don't post to these boards.

A) What good is an exploit if it has to be used in front of hundreads of people? I can't see myself running in the wild playing music, I'd want to be in the spotlight...

B) I'm talking about code to actually allow us to walk while playing, not an exploit.
