Hello everyone, due to the overwhelming amount of whine this thread has ingested, the macrohas beendeleted. If you are interested in how to quick buff your customers just email bloodfin.lacota, i'll be happy to mailthe quick buff or the afk bufferto you, just remember to specify which one you want.

If any SOE reps or Devs read this, please give these"true" entertainerssomething to do ingame besides emote, It'sobviouslybegining to affect them.

update: Due to the absolutely overwhelming amount of emails and PM's i've recieved over the past week requesting the macro's and the amount of time i've had to spend sending out email after email, I will be reposting both the quick buff and the afk buffer again. This time it will be on a different and private board so I don't piss off the natives.

yeah that is a useful macro! You forgot one thing tho. You forgot the /logout command and cuss words in your spam so you'll be banned from the game :/

I could use some more feedback on this, because if the majority of you musicians feel this macro will hurt the musician profession and/or the game itself, i'll gladly delete it.

I think it could be useful to some people. We musicians arn't exactly the wealthiest peeps in the game, and if we can make money while afk, I think we should be able to. In one week we make less then an armorsmith makes from selling one set of composite armor.

Okay, going off topic...thanks for macro, keep it here.

If you think that you'll make much money doing this thing, I'd think again. You'll make no more or no less than an average AFK starport beggar. There is nothing that will prevent people from just getting a buff and leaving you. In fact, its what the developers recommend players do whenentertainersgo AFK, and for good reason. Otherwise, there would be no reason to play an entertainer. People who suggest that entertainers do such things merely want free buffs 24/7. After all, an entertainer is merely a search function away...but of course, they never do bother to search for us anymore...

Leave it up.....take it down....doesn't matter to me.

However...

Your macro is inordinantly long...and doesn't need to be 3 separate macros.

All you need is one longish macro or one tiny one for the repeating stop/start and flos and a longer one for the spam.

You also do not take into account that ANYONE grouped with you can just listen to you and get the buff...even if they are not the targetGroup0.

Well all that aside, if it makes you money or helps make it easier for you to get buffs, have fun. I will not BuffBot and as other have said, I feel it greatly takes away from the enjoyment of the game for everyone and takes the living from ATK musicians. That and Spam music really sucks.

Also if I ever see buffbots I've been insired to pen a new macro.

I have no problem with a buffbot like this, as long as you take it to your house/cantina and charge an entrance fee. That's what docs do with their buffbots, because unlike entertainers, their buffs have a cost. But it is irritating to have some buffbot parked in a public cantina, taking away my business. Because a buffbot is doing it all for free.

And these days I keep getting people who don't even think they should pay for music buffs. I blame you.

oh how i like these "buffbots"...

You know this kind of things, afk buffbots (or in old DAOC
times buffbots stored in keeps) is always the problem for
the people who are willing to play At-The-Keyboard Buffers.

If this gets custom (and I fear it will, because its so very
convinient for most people not interested in playing a "buffer")
no one may be willing to play a buffer as primary character.

I only play with one account. On one server I have a pure
entertainer. Why should I travel to other planets to maybe
help people, when i can expect that a second or third account
entertainer bot is simply standing there. Heal bots are quite
common already.
If the buffbots are getting around, I simply will no longer be
able to afford travelling around. So I just will activate my
char for special occasions or for having fun with friends.
But not really play it.

So I dont think this will help in any kind, of course it will "help"
the non social people. They can get all they want from the bots.
But it will hurt the people actually enjoying social interaction.

Oh and just one other thing:

"
is, if you find a master musician who is NOT afk and who happens to know how the heck to buff right (in under a minute), you might as well shut down your pc and go play the lottery, because you are the luckiest person alive.
"

Please don't declare buffing in under a minute as the "right" way to buff.

I know how to do it, but I will not use it. I feel this is a exploit. I am
willing to do speedbuffs under 4 minutes, but I dont use 1 minute buffs.

And if you see my character (Nikita) online, I am at the keyboard.

Sometimes I wish the developers had never included the macro function. Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Away from the Keyboard.

So, here is a macro for all you musician out there who would like to buff people right and do it while playing or even afk if you like.

Speaking for myself as an entertainer during beta and since live, I find this statement of being told "how to buff correctly" offensive.

Aside from it being possible to achieve your effect with a far neater macro...it kind of suggests to me that you don't actually listen to your musical performance. Or if you do you care more about buffing someone quickly than the musical result. That stoppping and starting would just plain hurt my ears!

If it works for you then great. Personally I'd like to see a new board dedicated to holotainers where this kind of thing would be more appropriate.
