CS has been working hard with the dev team and the correspondents to give the Knowledge Base a major overhaul. We want this tool to be extremely useful to players looking for information in-game or out of game. We would love to get your feedback on how accurate the KB is for answering common questions.

In game, please open the Holocron (CONTROL + H by default), click on the "Customer Service" button and type your question in the box called "String". Double click on the Articles listed to get the answer.

Out of game, you can go to the Station Knowledge Base. Be sure to type "Star Wars Galaxies" in your question though or you will get answers back from other SOE games like EverQuest.

In this thread, please report any problems you have getting the information you are looking for. CSRDavidF will be collecting your feedback. I also encourage you to work with your correspondents in the Professin Forumsto add more details.

Thanks!

Please note, the Knowledge Base is not meant to have content spoilers, only game help.

Live and TC.

The KB has been around a long time... People just didn't know it was there.

Hello Everyone. Please do post any comments you have regarding the Knowledge Base here and we'll check this thread often. To answer this question: The Knowledge Base and all solutions are on Test Center, Live, and on the Web at the link above.

For quick answers to many game play questions, you may want to first reference the knowledge base located in the Holocron Menu. You can do so by selecting the customer service option and then using the knowledge base tab. We have recently added hundreds of new FAQs and answers and more will be added more daily, so give it a try!

Theres a surprise its gone quiet on the posting front!

And i wonder why my negativity is greatly increasing to the game. My 3 accounts and my citys 90 gamers are obviously not worthy of any help.

soe4846 – “The monthly quest” should be changed to “The story arcs”

soe6545 – I’m not sure if this answers the problem listed. The question is “My badge is not appearing after I complete a quest.” Answer is “Open your character window and then click the Personal Tab to see your badges.”

Soe9243 – Question reads “Is there any way for a Jedi to gain.” This question should probably have something to do with disguises based on the answer.

Soe8381 – question reads “I have selected the.”This question should probably have something to do with a particular conversation selection based on the answer.

Soe7538 – This seems to be the last Act II entry left in the database. Probably want to remove it.

Soe8703 – Please mention in this entry that the actions taken against a player’s account will not be made public to the person who reported them. This is one of the biggest misunderstandings I have come across in General Chat.

Sorry about the last post. Oh how we need edit back

This was an amazing post! Thank you very much Sutarion this is exactly what I'm looking for. All of the above have been addressed in one way or another.

Here is the solution:Star Wars galaxies: Can I sell Star Wars galaxies credits, items, characters or accounts?

Under article 7 EULA.

'you may not use or distribute macros or other programs which would allow unattended game play. '

Thats in the knowledge base, however it has been stated that AFK macroing is ok.

I believe that is referring to out-of-game macros. In-game are built in to the system and should be allowed unless it exploits a bug.

Exploiting and making the most out of the game system are not necessarily one and the same.

This is correct. In game utilities are acceptable but Third Party programs are not acceptable.

soe8086 -- last paragraph refers to usage experience being required to improve as a crafter. This is outdated and incorrect. Usage xp was removed during mid-Beta3 for most professions, with the rest being removed shortly after launch. A few crafters have reported random amounts of usage xp still being generated if they stand directly next to a person using their crafted item (much like a factory grants 10% xp if you are near it), but at best this is residual xp that just missed being removed by the devs (i.e. a bug), not something that is "required to advance."

The following articles have "ad barking" misspelled as "add barking": soe8638, soe8639, soe8640, soe8648, soe8650, soe8751, soe8753.

Sorting bug with the database: After completing a search, if you click on any of the headers to sort the article list by Article ID, Match % or Title, the interface appears to reorder the articles, but if you click on one, instead of being shown the article with that particular title, you will actually be shown the article that would have been in that spot if you hadn't sorted.

"Star Wars Galaxies: Why does my user interface keep resetting?"

Here is the solution that should be in there:

The user interface resets 90% of the time that the client crashes. This is probably due to the game constantly writing to the config file. If it is in the process of writing to the config file, and the client crashes (or the computer freezes), the config file becomes corupted, and the default is used upon reboot.

p.s. this is very annoying as i have a heat problem in my comp that causes it to freeze more often than not. I cant count the number of times i have had to reconfigure my UI due to it resetting

instead of "String" you should maybe make it "Querry?" or "Question?" or "Topic?"

Been there... Done that..
