If you're the higher skilled musician, why not let the newbie play the same song as you even if he alone can't play it? The XP for the newbie will still be the same as if he was playing a newbie song. Anyone agree?

Yup, Newbies playing Virtuoso or ballad orjazzin aband. That's what am I saying. They cannot actually control bandflourishes or start the band. Even if they did, the song would be their newbie song. What say u guys? I'm getting tired of SW1 already.

First thing, don't post if you don't know what you are talking about. Branching off that comment, a newbie can only play Star Wars 1. If they do /startmusic while the rest of the band is playing something like, say Star Wars 3; then it will just say that they are not skilled enough to play that song. You have to advance up the musicianskill tree if you want to playballad. You cannot play all the songs as a newbie, nor all the instruments. Your pretty dull, you realize; figure out more about what your talking about before you say it.

Look, u can just say it was a bad suggestion. Dun have to go criticizing me over it. Like I said b4, maybe they can play the song that skilled musician is playing when they are grouped in a band. It was just a suggestion.

I think what he means is that the restriction of newbs playing along with lower songs should be eliminated. I agree. I think newbs should be allowed to join in on higher songs (except Ceremonial and Virtuoso, which should be reserved for Masters).

While playing a higher song, /changeband, /bandflo and /stopband should be disabled for that player. Also, only 3 flourishes per tick should be allowed. After all, they're not as accomplished as the higher level musicians, so thay can't play as well......

I'm sick of swg1 and rock, and I'm sick of playing swg1 in a band composed of Novice Bounty Hunters, Engineers, Master Scouts and so on. Real entertainer newbs are one thing; these amateurs are another.

This is a bad idea.Playing a lower song to help out newermusiciansshould not be looked upon as a bad thing. Yes, the songs get old and tiresome, but remember this: You were that newmusician at one point and others had to switch back to sw1 for you. You should be willing to do the same for the next person.

IF they had tied XP to the boxes and made it so that the highest skilled Musician picks the song and the lower ones could still play that song at the skill box they are in present level of XP this would have been perfect. But Nooo they never listened to us in Beta. What they did was rearrange some of the songs and some of the instruments.. I like the ideas we all presented..

And you, Sir, please take your stinking flamesand get lost. Maybe read the post one more time and try to use your 3 braincells to figure out the content before you start flaming?

On topic: The idea sounds very good, because I can't hear SW1 anymore. Maybe can restrict a player to be able to play only 1 or 2 songs above his skill level, i.e. some noob can join the band and play up to rock, and so on. This would be great for musical diversity in cantinas. Too much SW1, really.

Man Slippery, I don't think you could have read this post more wrong. What he was saying is that the devs make it so that Noob musicians can play a song that they don't qualify for( Not that this is already implanted, or it wouldn't be a problem, see:smileyhappy and don't let the mbe able to start or band flourish or anything fancy. Just et low amounts of exp as normal but play something diffrent. The power of context clues. *sigh*

Have to admit that Slipery's lack of ability to understand what the original post was about is pretty funny.

As far as lettings the lowers play with the higher ups.. best Idea I can think of is to let them play along with those playing a higher song but be muted, so their not really playing, and can still get the same exp per flourish as if they where playing the highest song they can play. So they can't really play the song but the more skilled musicians can still play what they want to.
