Thread: No offense an honest question for Musicians:

Please don't take this the wrong way, but how many of you are actually going to be Musicians, as a final product, not just a step towards Jedi??

I can understand if you have a support character who is a musician/doctor/scout for those long distance hunting parties to set up camps, etc... but even then, you can't heal battle fatigue in a camp. So I wonder, what's the long term value of a master musician?

Are you just in it for the hologrind? (I admit that I am only in it for that) Or are you in it for the long haul? Why?

PS - Wouldn't it be cool if a musician could have a "mezmerizing" song that influences combatants in battle?

meh, I only answered your first question.

I've been planning on keeping musician (and later entertainer) for the long haul because it's fun to play in a band. If you've ever played in a large band, you know how fun they can be. Bands can be even more fun with a little effort put in, such as organized routines and lighting etc. That's what I plan on cultivating. It'll take me a while cause I have a job IRL and can't stay up late on week nights, thus limiting my extreme play time.

I am with Kora. I am a MM by choice, and will also be one. Why? My band, Astral Fantasia. I honestly think that MM and MD is not the end of the ladder if you're in it for real, and to actually have a band, is the final result of being true to the prof. I'm not talking about those pickup bands that form in cantinas, but real bands, with original songs, original dance routines. Many galaxies have these kinds of bands, and those galaxies are truly lucky. You don't know how exhilerating it is to play in front of a packed house full ofpeople either in a cantina, city hall, or PA hall. What we do cannot be compared to taking down a krayt dragon or some other difficult creature. It takes work, albeit, but the rewards are impossible to replace. Work it right, and the band could easily be more respected than the best PvP'er or jedi. Plus, you're the center of a social event, how can you NOT be bored, with so much interaction, it's better than just going out and killing things. And I'll say it, I wouldn't trade this for even a master Jedi acct.

I am staying a master musician. I started a second character to do something different, and ended up enjoying it more then my first. Having my own cantina is great!

I am also foolishly trying to hologrind, without ever giving up master musician. I just hope I never get BH.

I've been a MM/ME for as long as i can remember and enjoyed every bit of it. Now with the player citys and player cantinas out, I'm having even more fun. And I plan staying a Master Musician.

I first wanted to master Dancer, and did. And then when buffs went live I figured I'd master Musician too, since I was getting bored doing other stuff. I love it. I'm a social butterfly who likes collecting clothes and overhearing gossip. Most of the Jedi grinding powergamers look down on that, but I remember those jerks and guess who I'm too busy for when they need mind buffs?

Anyway, I don't plan on giving up any of my entertainer skills anytime soon, if ever. I'm having too much fun. I'm hoping they add some real content in a patch soon, because it'll just get better.

Also, your P.S. does sound like a cool idea. Like snake charmers, only for Trandos....

I started out doing the Combat and Medic thing, but I found I dont like the Combat usually in MMORPG's.

I quickly switched over to Musician, and Entertainer when I realized how cool the Social aspect of it was.

I'm not in it for the GCW, orthe Jedi...I'm just in it to have fun.

Well I'll raise my hand, not quite a MM yet but working hard towards it. Plan on master musician an master image designer. LOL just to get my Zabriakian Ranger out of her stupid pony tail is worth the image design. Truthfully I love the interaction and the cloths, oh who am I kidding I love the cloths. My hubbys a master tailor so I can get all the free great outfits I want, an entertainers dream come true.

me!

One of the only reasons I decided to play this game was the opportunity for a non-fighter character. Of course, I still go out and blast the local wildlife, but only when the cantinas are closed.

I'm almost a master musician and master dancer. I've been working towards mastering the entertainer professions since the first month of the game and enjoy not grinding away. It gives me more time to work on songs and dances while not stressing to be the "best."

Good luck with your music skills. I hope you enjoy playing as an entertainer, if only because the little blue box told you to.

Omi will definitely be a Musician for the long haul. I get all my crafting urges out of the way with Aelei on Naritus and get most of my Combat urges out of the way with Vubo on Naritus also.

That leaves Omi to do a little something different for me. Had a great time last night while I was waiting on a shuttle in Coronet playing some music for everyone while we stood around the ticket guy. The social aspect is great fun and when I get more time I plan to play around with the sounds and flourishes to see what I can create.
