As I'm sure you're aware, if you target anything other than the ommni box (or nalargon), you stop playing. The devs are quite aware that we all hate this. But they've never told me whether they can fix it; the problem is that ommnis and nalargons are placed in the world, like houses and harvesters, and thus behave differently. I've mentioned it to TH several times; I just don't know if it's remediable.
The workaround, of course, is to keep the ommni as your look-at target at all times, and to emote with the keyboard. That generally works, though after the mount and vehicles patches emoting-via-keyboard became wonky. Is it me, or are emotes working better now?
To the original poster: many moons ago, Holocron promised us new songs and instruments "over the life of the game." We're still waiting! New songs, sounds, and instruments have been the Top Issue for Musicians almost since launch. All I can say is what the devs have been telling me for weeks: new songs are in active production, but we have no ETA. I don't know about new instruments.
BTW, yourmama, when you posted your first message, I was having trouble logging on to these boards, and I suspect others were too. Hence the slow reply. I try to read every new post in this forum every day, but I can't reply to everyone instantly.
Yes, I'd certainly like to see more instruments, the following list all has reference in sw lore soany of these would be welcome additions in my mind.
