buffbots. I remember the first time I saw one.. that was the beginning of the end of my career as a musician. Before the bots people needed my services. I made nice credits as a master musician. Well deserved after weeks of playing with only about 150 credits income pr. day in tip.

I made about 5k for a 10 min buff session. But then... came the terrible buffbots. Who with a macro buffed people. and then people find it easier to use the bot. Then came more and more bots and now they are everywhere. Totaly ruining the marked for master musicians and dancers. So I gave up.

IVe said it before and Ill say it again. Developers!! please remove the INVITE and JOIN from macro language. (why do we need it afterall?)That will help saving two professions. And for the ones who has let their second account become buffbots. Remember you guys actually destroy a lot for the people who wants to play that profession as their main!

Poor imagedesigners have no macros at all. And dancers have to much.

Or just remove recursive macros all-together.

That really is the key to eliminating the AFK "grinding" and the buffbot situation. (Not to mention the AFK-sampling macros too.)

I don't think they should get rid of the macro system because I use it everytime I play or dance. But I rarely go afk and if I do it is for something like grab a drink or some food but at most 5 minutes otherwise I will quit playing for awhile. I use my macro so I can talk to my guild or the group I am in. I also talk to people healing me and people watching or listening to me. If you take that away then I have to be unsocial and I wouldn't have fun at all. Just don't let people auto join and auto leave. Add random pop up windows saying that if you hit flourish 1-4 you might get a prospective manager and link it to the new quests that will give some random factor to our profession like being discovered in RL you do something and it pleases the big shot. Or have it so if you have afk above your head you go LD after 10 minutes enless you are moving your character around with the mouse or something. Just please don't get rid of the macro system because I can type fast but if I am hitting the flourish buttons alot then I can't talk.

Plus I know plenty of people that set up macros for songs so their band can play it. It is great to see because they add effects and what not and some sing. No macros means no more bands that can talk to their guild at a gig or sing to the crowd. If the devs take out the macro system then I will probly quit the entertainer profession all together since I won't be able to talk and it won't be fun anymore.

Just end the recursive macro. Perhaps this is the one battle cry that all of the entertainer professions could, or should, rally behind. Stop recursive macros.

soe is making money on buffbotts.

think about it ... soe is making 30 bucks a month on these idiots

it wouldn't make sense to them to discourage afk entertainers. the best thing we'll get out of this is the ending of the holos. that's the best they could possibly give us.

personally i dont mind buffbots in player cities, but bots public cantina's is what pisses me off.

oh well .... just something to think about ....

Really I prefer buff bots, there arenever "Live" entertainers around when you need a buff. I'm not about to be like some of the "Jedi" and buy a second account just so I can have an entertainer come buff me when I need it.

I'll sum up some of the Problems as I see them, these are general problems and apply to the "Crafter/Combatant" toobut I'll apply them to the entertainer...

Basically all of theentertainer Professions are"boring" Professions for most people. Standing around for long peroids of time in the same place, doing the same thing over and over, with the same music blasting away in your ear, justisn't much fun for most gamer types.

Part of the problem with solving the "Boring" aspect is aslong as people are able to use stacked defenses by dabbling in 2 combat professionshaveing a "Combat Profession/Entertainer Profession" just isn'tthat greatof a choice. If a person could be a "Combat/Entertainer" and still be a competive combatant,I think Entertainer would be a more popular choice which in turn would alleviate some of the "lack of live entertainers" problem. Even though"Combat/Entertainer" is certainly doable, in reality such a person is really at a disadvantage when it comes to combat.

IF the problem of Stacked Defenses doesn'tget axed,I really think getting rid of AFK entertainers, even after the end of Holo grinding, is just generallybad for the game.

There are plenty of people who DO enjoy the professions, and if the ones who didn't wouldn't ruin it for the ones who did, this problem wouldn't exist.

You don't understand entertainers. It's as simple as that.

Really? So you are saying most people are entertainers? or have entertainer as part of their template?

I think the number of non Holo entertainers is quite low, compared to say any singlecombat/medical even scoutprofession. I think you took what I said as a flame rather than what it is... an Observation.

Edit: I had entertainer as part of my template very early on, just to heal my mind/BF so I think I can speak from experience.

There are actually quite a few players who are entertainers who never go into public cantinas anymore because of the zombies that inhabit them. Ending the ability to loop a macro would be a pain but it would end the afk bots. An easier route would be to eliminate the /join /disband commands from the macro language or beter yet just make it so a box has to be clicked to accept someone watching or listening to you. This would help the entertainers even more since then they could set a price for their services. And if you want a wish list item how about entertainers being able to see bf and mind wounds of a customer while still playing or dancing. Buffbots will never go away though because the jedis need them and we're all about making jedis better...

He was not saying that most people are entertainers. He was pointing out that there are people that enjoy the Enterainment professions a good deal. I count myself among them. I spend the majority of my ingame time doing things related to Entertainment. (More specifically Music in my case)

Your initial statement was a bit of a large blanket that implied the Entertainer professions were boring for everyone, Javier (and myself) are proof to the contrary. As are the majority of my in game friends.

Exactly, there are people who like the profession.

It is fun in short spurts even for me. However you must admitthe profession is not a real popular one.

Remebmber we are not talking about you guys who like to entertain, we are talking about stuff that affects the SWG community in general. You can't really have a discussion that Effects everyone but then turn around and only include the feelings of a minority. My statemant is a blanket statement sure. Perhaps a bit rough on the Entertainer's feelings, I am sorry for that.

The lowdown is I'm really trying to make a point and I need it to stick,OR I can justsay nothing and try to playmy MBH without mind buffs, that would really suck.

Nope, after re-reading what you wrote, I disagreed with what I stated and edited it. My original post was up there for a grand total of about a minute.
