Thread: Why the developers don't care about AFK macroers

They don't care because they identify with them. After all, when was the last time we saw a developer at the keyboard? Our developers are the equivalent of the game's buffbots: they wait until a customer (i.e. the correspondent)shows up, and they give him an automated canned response:"we're really concerned about this, but it'll have to wait until after the next publish".And the developers are having the exact same effect as buffbots-they're killing the entertainer professions. The only difference is that none of their customersactually walk away happy.

I hear lots of complaint about AFKers and buffbots in the game, but what are we going to do about the AFK developers?

Wow Beery, I had no idea you had the developers in your pocket like that so you can get all these facts.

I don't need them in my pockets to know that they're almost completely unresponsive to the entertainment community. I have all the proof I need by reason of their absence from these forums and the overwhelmingly unsupportive and negativeresponses that the correspondents have passed along from themto us. If you think they're so responsive and caring, please cite your reasons instead of launching into a sarcastic rant directed at me personally. That doesn't prove anything - it doesn't even show you have a point to make on the issue. If you can't argue the point, why post here? I thought that was called trolling.

Er... last time I checked, Image Designer is in the Entertainer branch, and therefore is part of the Entertainer community.

The Devs spent a heck of a lot of time on that revamp! I suggest you double check your sources before ranting/flaming.

Ya Aejaxx beat my first point. You said "killing the enertainer professions"....

Guess IDers have not been getting anything! lol.

Anyhow, your blaming the wrong people if you must blame someone. The Dev's play the game too, they know the issue's, but they don't get to decide with finality what can be worked on, or when it can be worked on, or in what order things should be worked on. Sure, the developers can fix the game, and they can also see as easily as you what some if not most of the problems are. What? Do you really think SOE is consisted of a bunch of Dev's smoking and drinking coke while sitting in lazy boy's in a garage somewhere, hitting a macro for your canned responses, keeping the servers up? Or perhaps SOE consists of Management? Perhaps you''ll realize that EVERY sales company in the world uses the so-called canned statements for a reason. Its easier, however not neccessarily dishonest, whendealing with ignorant, hotheaded people such as yourself. =)

Don't berate people for what you call trolling, because flaming inaccurate groups based on ignorant information is not much better. As a matter of fact while your opponents look for the proper argument to avoid trolling your post, and while you wait for them to do it, go look up whom you should question at SOE, and not contradict yourself in the process with statements like "killing the enertainer professions". kk thx.

Lastly, and albiet slightly repeated, you just belittled someone for trolling a pure flame post! Are you nuts!? Pretty hypocritical. rofl.

Oh yes, the developers spent so much time and communicated so well with the image designer community. We got everything we asked for: New Interface, New Hair styles, Tattoos, Bothan Beards, Neon Skin Colors, Hair accessories, Partical Effects such as glitter, and Piercings. We also got stuff we DIDN'T ask for: Image design tents (where we'd be trapped if we wanted to make a profit), Stat migrations (so players can now blatantly hate us), Timers (so that no new people can enter our profession unless they want to dedicate several dozen hours (around 70)), And oh so much more... yea, devs did a real good ****ing job revamping ID.

"I'm sorry, but since, in my opinion, the majority of your posts have been highly negative, it is I who think you are the troll, not me."

I wasn't aware that the forum guidelines required positivity. Look, if something is horribly dysfunctional, I'm not going to go around saying that it's hunky-dory. If someone is f$%^ing up, I'm going totalk about it. That's what forums are for. They are not cheerleader camps. Some people think they should be, but they're not. You and I bothhave every right to speak negatively if we feel the need to. That's critical thinking and free speechin action. If you don't like that, you picked a pretty poor choice when you decided to join an internet forum. My first post was an observation, nothing more or less. If you don't agree, say so, but your first post was nothing more than an outright flame. It did not address my points, and you set the tone for the ad-hominem attacks that followed in other peoples' posts.

I just don't get you Kreistor, on another thread you're saying I made a point when I'm complaining about much the same issue:

(http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=musician&message.id=14548&page=4), yet here it looks to melikeyou're turned around 180 degrees. What's the deal? Do you think the devs are responsive, or not? You can't have it both ways.

Rule 2: Be Friendly and Courteous
Everyone wants to have a positive experience while on the Forums - please make sure that you contribute to it. Please do not post anything harassing, threatening, abusive, lewd, or inflammatory. Flaming people, products, or organizations is never acceptable. Neither is trolling. Instead, be friendly, helpful, and supportive.

It means supportive of each other. Not of the game. Anyway, I'd like to know which of the posters here obeyed that rule. Heck, you're breaking it yourself - your post is hardly supportive.

There you go making things up again Beery *rolleyes*

I'm sure you've seen the updates to TC by now about the new Theatre quests?? Clearly that means that the developers ARE doing something. It may not be much, but it IS something, so you're wrong in that.

Second, you claim that somewhere I think they're responsive and caring. Whether I am or not, nowhere did I mention it. So, once again, you're plucking facts out of the air.

I'm sorry, but since, in my opinion, the majority of your posts have been highly negative, it is I who think you are the troll, not me. My post was simply stated that you were the one that had no facts to back up your claims, that's all.

Anyway, I guess there's no point in arguing this, you'll just launch into some other "You're just sitting on your butt loving the fact that the devs do nothing" when you have no way to prove it.

Answer however you want, I won't be responding.

To Aejaxx and Springbok:

Erm... folks, this is posted on the MUSICIAN forum, and the title clearly relates to the cantina entertainers. IDs aren't musicians, and obviously IDs have had a revamp (some would say it wasn't all that positive). I'm talking about the cantinaentertainers, as evenyou folksshould be able to figure out. If this was posted on the ID forum, you might have a point, but since it's posted here, you're just trolling and flaming.

Apart from the nonsense in your posts, you have done one service to this thread. Thanks for the bump.

Oh please! Have you seen what those theatre quests consist of??? I mean really! They did what was easiest for them - plug in more missions. Very few people asked for missions, and what we're getting is totally lame. The developers consistently fail to do anything about the stuff we do care about - AFK macroing has been a problem for 10 MONTHS, and for most of that time it wasa top issue among players, and NOTHING has everbeen doneto stopit. Instead, they throw in useless garbage that's easy for them to do, but which virtuallyno one wants. I mean extra missions??? Whose f#$%ing top ten list of things to add/fixwas that ever on?
