Thread: Summit info?

Hey NewJedi, I know you couldn't make the summit, and that's ok obviously.I was wondering what was provided to correspondents who couldn't make it, and their professions? Do we just get no info?

Were Musicians represented in any way? I've seen little information on anything entertainer-wise at all on poststalking aboutthe summit. It's pretty much only regarding the Entertainer Quests. It is also my understanding we're left out of the CR and will be dealt with whenever the Devs decide to.

Do folks really not understand how pivotal we are in the role of a combat player? If it weren't for us, they'd be sitting in a cantina for 4 hours getting their BF healed up. I, thus far, don't see why Entertainers are not any kind of factor in a Combat Revamp, are put off until after the Revamp, and kind of just left out of the fun. I'm beginning to see a very disturbing trend, here. First Jedi, now this...

Just curious as to what's the deal. Thanks, man!

For some time now, my money has been on the Devs introducing NPC entertainers before too long, maybe along with the combat revamp...

It sure would fit right in with all their other decisions (or lack thereof) regarding entertainers.

Well, I'm fairly sure I remember reading there might be some kind of non-combatant player revamp after the combat revamp is in. That seems kinda odd though, since everyone in this game goes hand-in-hand, most notably entertainers and combat folks.

I would hope that, should they decide to put in NPC entertainers, we get some means of control regarding them. Like, if we (live Entertainers) go in a cantina, we can disable one and get our healing xp and stuff.

About all I've heard of all this summit stuff is that the Hutt casino is delayed to an undetermined date, we're not really included in much of anything with the Combat Revamp, and we have 1 new song and 1 new dance coming in Publish 10.2 - which is something, and very appreciated, but should really only be the tip of the iceberg as far as content for us.

Most non-combat professions will get thair rewrap along with the combatant. Obviously there will be changes to armour and weapons production, the food drinks of the chef's, the medic/doctor are given as well.
However, entertainers do not have any direct influence on combat, our effect is after the combat in mending its effects. The only other professions I can think of that fit that category are tailors, droid engineers, bioengineers, rangers, politicians, and merchants.
The rangers take part in combat to take down mob's anyway, and I know the merchants have a rewrap coming. The Droid engineers have had thair own publish (not that it was a grate one), and the bioengineers have had the entire cloning system changed since launch.

But that entertainers are overlooked, should be nothing new to us.

If Chefs get a nifty revision to their role in combat, but we remain stagnant, I'm just hoping we don't get brushed aside for food and drink - because our abilities aren't as valuable and haven't caught up with everyone else who got new stuff. If the Entertainer code is as buggy as we've all been led to believe, I'm hoping they look into how they fix us ASAP, or things may take longer to get implemented for us than expected. Yeah, I'm trying to put that Jedi thing and everything else behind me. It sucks, but obviously nothing we say about it has any weight or effect, so I'm saving my breath for bigger battles. I'm sure we'll have some.

Community Letter:

Hey there, Thunderheart here! Here is what we have in store for the next coming months!

We were hoping to get more combat stuff in, but I can only slave my working Dev team so much.

Publish 10.1: Fencer: New weapons, including Sledge Hammer AND uber cool stuff I cant say!

Docotor: Given mind buffs

Jedi: Given the ability to buff themselves for all stats, and other neat thingies!

Publish 10.2:More combat stuff! Whoo!

Publish 11: Combat revamp! Everyone becomes all uber and stuff! Go you!

Publish 11.1: Here we plan to put in another vehicle! You have to complete the DWB 5 times though to get it!

Publish 12: We where going to put the Hutt Casino here, but we pushed it back because we got bored with ourselves!

---

Publsih 15: Here is where we THINK the Hutt Casino will go. Oh and those songs we said, we havent even started and never will. Oh and also, the main thing will be MORE FIGHTING STUFF!

*note: note a real publsih note thing.

They should just put the blue frogs from test center in so the kids who think combat in god mode is uber can go play all alone like they want to.

If they ever start adding NPCs to replace players, I'll quit.

Sorry John I was trying to be sarcastic. I agree, its just sad how so many power players expect to be able to take on 100% of the content alone in a multi-player game.

Tiaga agreed to watch out for our interests at the summit, and by all accounts he did an excellent job. (Panthu also was there. Kwee was busy having a baby, so she didn't attend.) Unfortunately, much of what was done still appears to be confidential, so I'm not sure how much you'll hear about it in the short term. I myself am still trying to get up to speed on what was discussed. Edit: I have just received some more info on what was discussed, but it's apparently all super-secret, so I don't know what I can say.

One more thing aboutthe summit: the purpose of the "sandbox" will be to test many of the changes planned for the Combat Revamp. Those Musicians selected to participate will presumably get more info on what was discussed at the summit. That's about all I can say for now.
