Thread: So i got into the village and....

I went last night and found that I got a free branch so I trained up the healing branch of heightened senses (where our skills are). Now I have another +20 to mind wound healing skill. So why would I want something so incredibly worthless to a player who has master in dancer, entertainer and almost musician? I'm asking myself the same thing. I guess I'm half-expecting them to add something at least as valuable for us as they have for the other profs. Would +20 to mind enhancement be that game inbalancing when all the bots are buying up the skill tapes? I would think it certainly not as threatening as the skills that provide experimentation points would be to the crafters.

I, too, would like to be able to do the village quests. Not only would it be nice to have quests that would require my profession skills. At least with that persuasion box that gives you the ability for others to see you as a member of their faction, I might get a fun little rp tool out of it.

On the other hand, my boyfriend has just reminded me that I am (once again) accreditting common sense where it has already been established that there is none.

Bleh, that quest right now in Phase 1 unlocks Persuation, not Healing.

The one that unlocks Healing only requires Novice Medic and pops up around Phase 2 or 3. You have to go around and heal 50 people or somesuch.

I, too, got stuck on the Healing mission because stupid me was hoping against hope that they'd put something in last minute for a performer to do as a performer. I refuse to drop Master Swordsman or Master Musician to grind out Master Medic when the whole friggin' point of this quest system was, I thought, to eliminate hologrinding. I already had to drop Master Brawler to take the things in force sensitivity skills that I wanted, and I can tell the difference when I fight.

NewJedi, is there any way to get someone on the development team to actually pay attention for a little bit to the things that are just completely out of whack with how Entertainers, Musicians, Dancers and Image Designers are left out of anything to do in the Village? I mean, between Medic/Doctor/Combat Medic it's only 3 professions.

Not to mention the rewards for taking the only Force Sensitive line that applies to our profession are...lacking.

I transferred my music xp into FS senses xp only to find that I could not do the quest in order to unlock the branch without at least master medic.... This really sucks, I really do not wish to drop skills to pick up master medic just for some measly quest. DOH!

On a serious note....is there any plan to implement a way for master musicians or dancers to do these quests? I mean...come on....if not...why.

As do I. All of the entertainer Correspondents have complained about this, and there's no sign of any imminent change. I wish I could report something more encouraging.

And yes, our FS skills are underwhelming too.

How much code changing would it really take to change +5 Wound Healing (music/dance) with each box, to +5 Mind Enhancement (music/dance)?

At least that would be of some benefit to those of us who perform in full bio gear.

Mind enhancement would be to powerful a bonus... obviously combaters would only wand the 120% buffs and not the 100% ones, so to get anything for buffing musicians and dancers had to become force sensitive.

Things like reduced buff timer, less action cost on flourishes, or perhaps BF healing would be better choices for our bonus.

As it stands right now, the bonusesin the Force Sensitive Heightened SensesHealing line look like this:

Healing I, Sophisticated Diagnosis

Injury Treatment +5

Wound Healing (Dance) +5

Wound Healing (Music) +5

HealingII, Empathic Treatment

Injury Treatment Speed+5

Wound Healing (Dance) +5

Wound Healing (Music) +5

HealingIII, Superior Remedy

Injury Treatment +5

Wound Healing (Dance) +5

Wound Healing (Music) +5

HealingIV, Prominent Alleviation

Injury Treatment Speed+5

Wound Healing (Dance) +5

Wound Healing (Music) +5

If you actually look at it, you can tell there's at least a variation in the Medic bonuses in alternating boxes. Now, medics also get Injury Treatment bio-tissue, where we get the Wound Healing (Music) & (Dance) bio-tissue for clothing. To leave it equitable, I think we should have wound healing in at least one of the boxes.

The kicker is the other boxes. We don't need that much more Wound Healing! It's not where our skills are lacking modifications. We need Fatigue Healing (Music) (and Dance, to be fair to our colleagues). Honestly...I don't think we should get more than +5 in the Mind Enhancement skills out of Force Sensitivity. It would be a nice little perk, but wouldn't be hugely cutting out anyone who wasn't able to make it to the Village.

What I think would be really nice to enhance our abilities without making it imperative for a performer to pursue Force Sensitivity would be:

Healing I, Sophisticated Diagnosis

Injury Treatment +5

Battle Fatigue Healing (Dance) +5

Battle FatigueHealing (Music) +5
HealingII, Empathic Treatment

Injury Treatment Speed+5

Wound Healing (Dance) +5

Wound Healing (Music) +5
HealingIII, Superior Remedy

Injury Treatment +5

Battle Fatigue Healing (Dance) +5

Battle FatigueHealing (Music) +5
HealingIV, Prominent Alleviation

Injury Treatment Speed+5

Dancing Mind Enhancement+5

Musical Mind Enhancement+5

I really wish whoever was in charge of adding in the performer healing mods into Force Sensitivity had thought a little about it, asked us...actually played an elite performing Entertainer some, maybe....

I don't think anyone who's in a position to do anything about this will ever see it. I've run out of faith in the way this game is continuing to be developed. But for some stupid reason there's this enduring kernel of hope, including one that they'll find a way to include the Entertainers who pursue Image Design.

I totally sympathize with you guys.

I, as well as other Entertainers, started a mini-crusade to try to get us something in the Village to no avail.

This, I feel, is completely unacceptable. It's one thing to have to drop skills to learn FS skills (which still stinks) but it is quite another to have to drop skills enough to gain a Novice skill. That takes 15 skill points. That's, again, totally unacceptable.

This was all very poor design, and as I feared, more Entertainers are discovering how the Devs completely turned their backs on us through this.

I gave the Devs the benefit of the doubt. I thought the lack of Entertainer Quests was a bug, and asked what the status of them were. I got NO replies. NOTHING. Multiple other Entertainers tried the same thing. They couldn't even be bothered to tell us we get nothing.

Thunderheart, Pex, SOETyrant, ANYONE who can actually do something about this or try to do something about this, we would very much like an answer.

Why were we left out of the Jedi system. It's completely unacceptable.

I sent this post with my own little note to some of the DEVs. Gonna see if I get any responses....highly unlikely....
