i read somewhere a while back they're doing away w/ looping macros. I just made a musician w/ a nice flourish macro....if they do away w/ loop macros my guy is gonna suck. Does anyone know for shure if they are gonna nerf the macros or not....=/

There will be changes coming, yes. Nobody knows exactly what will be done. It is possible your macro will still work fine.

If I am reading this correctly, you are concerned about being able to usea macro with florishes in it? Macros are not going away. The only thing that has been proposed in public, is the removal of the ability to use a recursive macro. That is a macro that can call another macro.Any macros that you have that do not call other macros, will still run fine, you will just not be able to endlessly loop it.

The removal of recursive macros will not destroy the macro system and your guy will not "suck". Recursive macros are great, for sure, but they allow for AFK ( Away From Keyboard) playing for a lot of professions, entertainer professions being the ones under the microscope. Which in turn created an entire mini industry of Buffbots which harm the entertainer economy by allowing someone who is not even currently playing the game in person, to reap the lions share of credits that would have gone to entertainers that were ATK ( At The Keyboard ).

So don't worry about not being able to be a good entertainer. I am a good, ok... Great Entertainer, and I do not run any macros for performing

not being a macro expert....i want to revise my first question and be more specific. so the macros that call on other macros might be going. the only one i'm concernd about is the one i have that lets me do endless flourishes so i don't have to hit my "F" keys a billion times and i can socialize or whatever. so/for example/ will this simple macro still work and is it clasified as a recusive macro? /flourish 1;
/pause 10;
/flourish 2;
/pause 10;
/ui action toolbareSlot00;

Did you know to master musician, you hit the F-keys less times than you would to post a few long winded messages here? A good rant can get close to 3-4000 characters. You need to hit the F-keys only around 20,000 times from novice entertainer to master musician, given a good group. If you create a macro that does 10 flourishes for you, you can cut that down to only a few thousand, now smaller than that long winded rant.
