How do you handle this baby?

It always needs to be targeted, you mostly stop playing if you target something else and /changebandmusic activated.

Is there any commands that you can target your own nalargon?

There are no commands to keep it targeted.....however

Learn the joy of /invite (name), /smile (name), /greet (name) etc...

If you are really good......the stopping occurs if it is not targeted at the XP tick or when you flourish....so if you know when those are gonna happen you can target, command, and target back real fast.

/changeband has a whole set of issues on its own unrelated to Nals, but if you /changeband and the nal is not targeted, yes you will stop, but that's just like flos and xp ticks. If you are playing and it is targeted , you will /change (unless its to ceremonial or western and you don't have them). If you are not playing and it is targeted and someone does a /change.....that's the /change bug and is not unique to nal.

I've taken to using /smile name /greet name and stuff myself, it's all very well and good until you get someone with a really long name to spell.

Would be nice if the devs found a way around having to have it targeted all the time. But it's liveable with I guess.

As a quick hint, I'll just add that you dont need to write the entire name, in stead of typing "/blame ILoveVeryLongNamesDontYouLikeItToo" you can just type "/blame ILove", just type enough letters to design only one possible target in range. (Or at least it works with /target, dont remember 100% if it's the same with other commands but i suppose so)

Could be so nice really. Like droids or something a unique name to you. eg. (Gera_Nalargon)

Trandoshans have the worst names in this respect. In addition to all the other things wrong with those empire-loving slave-trading bad-smelling lizards (see my bio).

I love you too

Well, unlike some others of my kind, I dont have much against you Hairy Ones, except maybe when you try to throw my own arms away from my body or, worse, when we got rainy weather... (Wet wookie smell is one of a kind :-P )

Best regards =)

ON a slight tangent to this. Why is it that whilst merrily playing my Nalargon other people seem to be able to move it or even play it. It is so frustrating that some Idiot seems to think it funny to move it about. Any thoughts?

I reverted to mando since I had some people move my nala far enough so it stored itself
there is a guy on eclipse who likes to do that to master musicians AFK grinding XP for FS while in ent group (boosting the XP) so they just stand there for hours... so lame...

Other people playing it == feature. Fun to see a wookiee and a rodian playing it at the same time*. I think up to four players are allowed.
Other people moving it == bug. I suppose the building owner can move stuff around if he wants. But other players shouldn't be ble to drag it around.

* because the wookiee has somewhere to put his drink

While I don't condone this, nor do I indulge in such pettiness, I still find it a bit amusing. It's a risk you take by going AFK. Any MASTER Musician that goes AFK while playing a Nalargon or Omnidoesn't know enough about the profession to deserve the title.

No need to exaggrate AFK thing here. None of entertainers can tell that they did not go AFK even for once while playing or grinding.Heck, most of us do. Being AFK and Being AFK-Bot is so different things. So please calm down.

Many thoughts.....

#1 you can abbreviate names with /smile or /invite....about the only time you cannot is in /tell

....so for me an /invite frag almost always works....4-6 chars is all you need generally.

On the Nal moving by other people....

Because you "use" the nal while its in inventory to make it part of the world, then you target it and play it, others can target it and attempt to play it causing it to move to them. If they are far enough away from you it *poof* dissappears. This is a known issue and had been complained about since beta. This is not for Nals dropped in private cantinas or the static ones outside in starports and such, but only used from inventory. It sucks, and we basically have to deal with it and /report people who are being obnoxious with the "nal stealing"

There is no limit to the number of people you can have playing a single nal other than a limit to the number of people skill annimating in one 2 or 3 meter radius without crashing the server. To load up many people, its best to have one person drop it and stand with it and have people around target it and /startm. By doing the /startm the instrument does not move to you (I call it my jedi nal trick....standing 2 M away from the nal and playing it....flo 8 is great that way) instead of targeting and radial "play instrument" which makes the instrument hop to in front of you.
