Thread: Vanishing Vendors or Vendor Items
Items Vanishing after 14 Days:
We are aware of the issue that seems to be deleting any item that has been on sale for 14 days. This has been reported to the dev team and they are looking at it. We appreciate any insight you might have into this that would help. It is possible that removing the items from your vendor and preselling them will give you another 14 days before this problem deletes youritems. This is just an assumption and there might be other ways as well.
Missing Vendors: If you are having other problems such as missing vendors (not the items the whole vendor) please give us some more information so we can help track down those issues:
Please list the server type (NPC, Droid, Terminal) and the server and planet your vendor was on as well as a waypoint for the general location the vendor was located.
Other Questions:
1. Do you have multiple Vendors with the same name?
2. Is your vendor to your knowledge on a server boundry. (This is tricky because the only way I know to tell is if you have someone run around that area with a pet they will usually stop following you when you hit the boundry) If someone has a better way to test this let us know.
3. Is your vendor in a player city?
4. Does your vendor or items return with a server reset?
Any other information you have about this issue including the first date that it happened.

Doc,
All of my vendors are named exactly the same thing - some on the same planet, but I've never experienced either of these bugs.

Are any of them named the same thing in the same structure?
Nothing has changed since then, save that all the merchandise I had on sale has now expired into the stockroom, according to all the emails I've been receiving. I've been in contact with a CSR, who has been very nice, but has never heard of this problem before and doesn't know what to do about it. Last I heard from him he was going to take it to the devs, but that was a couple of days ago.
I have experienced the disappearing vendor bug once before, when two of my vendors disappeared for a day, then reappeared for a few hours, disappeared again, then reappeared the next day. That was perhaps two months ago (not exactly sure of the timeframe), just after I had set up that shop in that location, and they haven't given me any trouble since until last weekend. Also, on two separate occasions, both around the last time my vendors disappeared, I logged in (after logging out inside my house) to find myself in the exact center of the planet. More recently, on two occasions while working in my house I have suddenly warped outside to some distance away.
1. No
2. Unknown. I am on the front edge of the build zone, only a few hundred meters outside of Moenia, if that means anything. And the vendors have disappeared on at least one occasion from the house next to mine also.
3. No
4. No
While I have had frequent vendor problems, all have proved temporary recently. Lets be sure NOT to include in the analysis:
Slow spawning on entry (sometimes many minutes)
Vendor, offer, or stockroom contents invisible because of selected catagory
Temporary invisibility of content untill re-log
BTW, Gratz Doc on Correspondent position! Marqie will be a tough act to follow.

Yes she will.
I had a vendor vanish and now Ican't get up to my full count (I have 5 out of 6 vendors, plus the vapor-vendor I can't fire.)
Details:
Server: Flurry
Planet: Naboo, not far from Moenia: Waypoint 5000 -4000
1. Do you have multiple Vendors with the same name?
No, and I named this one "Welcome" which was also a unique name.
2. Is your vendor to your knowledge on a server boundry.
I'm familiar with the boundary zone around Moenia and this tent was at least 300m from the boundary.
3. Is your vendor in a player city?
No.
4. Does your vendor or items return with a server reset?
No.
How it happened:
After the recent patch, I wanted to put a merchant canopy on the front of my existing shop. After training the architect level necessary to make it, and getting the appropriate tailor pieces from a friend, I made my first Merchant Tent.
I built the tent, and then conjured up a Protocol Droid vendor to see how it looked in there. All fine, except I didn't put any maintenance in the vendor or initialize it... I went outside the tent to talk to some friends who were admiring it.
When I went back into the tent, my vendor was gone. Waited a bit in case of lag, but it simply didn't come back. That's when I realized I hadn't paid or initialized it. I figured it had auto-despawned for one or both of these reasons, so I decided to make it again.
I couldn't... I was told to fire someone.
Eventually, I gave up and decided to pack up the tent (hoping that perhaps it would either remove the vapor-vendor problem or at least warn me that it thought a vendor was still inside). Well, neither thing happened. The tent packed up fine, but the vendor still counts against my total.
I tried placing the tent a second time, just in case the vendor was 'still inside', but it was not there.
A full week has gone by, and I still can't hire my 6th vendor.
Thankfully I didn't put money or goods in this guy (unless that's why it got bugged). Nevertheless I would still like to get my 6th vendor position back.
No, but I suppose I can test it and see what happens.
Are any of them named the same thing in the same structure?

I've read somewhere that duplicate names in the same structure can cause one of the vendors to stop working. Removing the duplicate named vendor will cause the other vendor to work again...I know that was here on the merchant forum somewhere but I don't remember who posted it.
- Only one vendor.
- Not on a server boundary, but on a city boundary.
- Vendor is inside the city, house isn't (because the house control panel is a meter or two farther from city hall).
- No, server has restarted several times without changing a thing.
My vendor terminal is a bulky terminal (because, despite the fact that I have Business IV, it won't let me create a standard terminal, but that's another bug). I had no trouble placing it, paying maintenance on it, and initializing it. When I show vendor info on it, it says that it's initialized and running normally. Maintenance is being consumed at the normal rate. But when anybody double-clicks on it to use it, it claims that it's not initialized. Deleting and re-creating the vendor didn't solve the problem.
The city boundary is supposed to move outwards today, so we'll see if that fixes it.

I think this is a different issue. Has anyone heard ANYONE who wasn't at Business III or IV having trouble with terminals or droids with this initialization issue?
My apologies if true; when you brought up server boundaries I chipped in - because I got a CSR response on this that that was probably what my problem was, so I thought it might relate to yours. If mine is an old problem, is there a known work-around for it?
