Thread: Vendors Eating Items (not via sales)
I submit a ticket and head out to previous engagement.
Today I log back in to restock my vendor since I know the stimpacks I'm selling now have reached their 1 week limit and I'll need to put'em back on the shelf... well, I have the usual emails saying some weren't sold, but the vendor, well, he decided he didn't want them cluttering up his Stockroom either. EVERYTHING is now gone.
The loss of product doesn't bother me, the money loss isn't a huge deal. What bothers me is now I don't dare try selling anything for fear it's just going to be eaten up by the vendor. I don't want to have to build up a schedule around keeping my products from being eaten by my vendor - I don't want to have to worry my vendor's going to decide, "Hm, Kiriah's been gone 6 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes....I better chew these new before she gets back to restock them." If I have to build a RL schedule around a game NPC/AI, I'll probably have to rethink my gaming experience -- whether elsewhere, or with professions that frankly don't interest me as much as being a Doctor does.
This is not fun. I don't pay more money for this game than any other just to find out that what should have been a reasonable, straightforward side business is now out of hand.
Has anyone else had everything on their vendor eaten up without notification or warning of any kind?
No, not exactly like what you are describing but yes I have had items not show up as being available.
I had close to 200 items available on my vendor last week and as I was stocking up items that were getting low, I discovered that I couldn't see them being offered. This led me to investigate other items I had added to vendor the day before that I knew nobody had bought and I couldn't see them either.
I ended up pulling about 50 items and put them in the stockroom and now I can see what I believe to be all my items. It almost seems like a max object bug. Once I exceed a certain number of items in any of the catagories it then stops displaying certain items.
OK so I submit a ticket and now and I wait... During my waiting I figured hey I need something in my vendor system so I put those 3 items I still had up for sell...
So I logged in last night... no e-mails from vendor's... I get to the vendor cause I was told I would have a beetle I could buy and use (from a PA member)... So I run to my store and now ALL of my ____ing inventory is GONE... Nothing is left on my vendor's and I have now lost well over 200 items on my vendor's.... I am pissed off if you cant tell... Now I have to wait a month or two for a stupid rep to finally get to my ticket and I will bet you 100k credits they will tell me ohh well we have had issues and your stuff is gone sorry... I am about to quit merchant or the entire freaking game... gees this is annoying....
DO NOT PUT ITEMS IN A BACK PACK.
I put some house deeds into one and put it on my vendor - package deal - took it off to add a deed and ALL GONE!
I see TRAVEL PACKS with armor in them all the time - if it does not work on a vendor it may not work on the BZR.
Be Careful!
Crate of Arakyd probe Bounty hunter droids, gone.
BH Seeker droids, gone.
Astromech droids, gone.
I guess being a DE has gotten me used to disappointment and bugs. I realized the merchant profession stunk pretty bad the first time I placed an NPC vendor and maintenance went from 0 credits/45 minutes to 3000 credits/45 minutes when I put some droids on it.
In response to the 4 replies - I had about 30 items for sale at the time (drinks, meds) and about three times that in the Stockroom while I was trying to reorganize my Bank (moving from one planet to another). Whatever this is, it isn't about max objects. I had a full suit of Composite armor from a friend who quit that I had no space for, so in the vendor it went. That's ALL the armor I had on it. Not under armor. Not under clothes (though I know it wouldn't be there anyway). Not under ALL. Nothing in my stockroom showed in Available Items when in the bazaar, so as far as I can tell they just don't exist.
None of these items, if any, were in containers. I use those either for myself, organizing the bank, or to unclutter my house. Bags are not a factor here since losing 5% of my stuff wouldn't bother me, but ALL of it does.
From what I can tell, Slinar and Cyprian have had the *exact* same problem with their vendors. Does this bother no one else?
If you leave things in Available Items or the Stockroom for 72 hours, they poof. No, the email saying "Auction Unsuccessful" doesn't tell you this. Nor does "Auction Won" or the Holocron or anything else. This is information that people only find out when stuff poofs. The vendors aren't intended to be storage... all right so far. But they're also not intended to be used by anyone who might be away from the game for as much as four days at a time.
If you're finding things poofing *immediately*, that's another issue. But if they're in the stockroom for three days and then disappear, that's no bug, that's working as intended.
I have been having this exact same problem for the past few days. Whenever something doesn't sell, it just goes "poof" instead of showing up in the stockroom. I don't really care about my items vanishing all that much, but my friend lost a few crates of spice that I had for sale on that vendor as well. ![]()
This is a very disturbing little bug. I thank you for posting about it so at least I know that I am not the only one. I hope it gets fixed soon.

I just put an ungodly amount of stuff up for sale on my vendors. Weapons, tons of resources (~500k) and a bunch of deeds and furniture (a lot of stuff in crates) before I went out of town this last week, hoping to have made a bit of money when I returned. I come back to a huge list of emails with stuff not selling, obviously I knew this would happen but no biggy sense there hasn't been any problems in the past. I go to my stockroom to relist all of the unsold items, groaning about the huge amount of time it takes with the lag to relist everything, but lucky me there was nothing in my stockroom.... Then I realized that I wasn't so lucky and that there should be easily 2-3 million credits worth of goods still waiting to be relisted. I promptly filed a CSR ticket and waited. This is what I was told... and I quote:
"This is not a bug. It is working as intended. Vendors and their stockrooms are not meant to be a storage place. If you leave anything in the storage room for more than 24 hours it will be deleted." CSRPatrickM
Are you kidding me? When did this get snuck in? Did I miss some patch notes somewhere? I've never had any troubles with leaving STOCK in the STOCKROOM for a couple days while I'm away and can't get to it. So much for the casual gamer.... So much for someone who can't be there every day to check on all their hard work.... If this doesn't get resolved I think this will be the final straw. My boyfriend already canceled his account and I'm not far behind with this.

I had this happen as an "all at once" response to the 72 hour "fix". I'd had 22 Droid "Closets" (novice DE items that you need for bells and whistles on Crafting stations) sitting in my stockroom for several WEEKS. Since I'd thought it works like a "regular" RL stockroom, and nothing had gone anywhere to prove otherwise, I hadn't retrieved them yet... I had other things that were more pending in-game.
I'd had 17 active items.. and 22 "closets" in the stockroom. Maint was running 6k/day.. rate 171.. but I'd kept it up.
All of a sudden, my maint rate drops to "1"... and EVERY D*MN ITEM dissappeared off the vendor, active or no.
No email, no "get your dam stuff already" warnings, NOTHING.
So now my vendor sits. And the person I'd bartered with via the vendor for the parts I can't make has left the profession. So no (trustworthy) vendor, no parts, no money, no nuthin'.
I'd be less annoyed if I'd at least had some *WARNING*.. then it would be my own fault for ignoring coming events.. but just kick me ? Gee, thanks a lot...
I lost a lot of product yesterday. It had gone to the stockroom once and I relisted the items. Then yesterday I noticed I had nothing for sale and nothing in my stockroom. No emails saying anything sold, no money, no email saying they went to the stock room. Everything just upped and poofed.
Sigh.
Sadly unless we keep detailed logs of everything we put on our vendors we be screwed.
