I know many of you are in guilds, and as such offer 'guild prices', so how do you do that with a vendor since vendors can only be put in public buildings.

I am curiuos to hear what others have done

Simple,

a) put a huge access fee on building with vendor in it and grant entry rights to all PA or

b) tip back rebates for anything bought.

I saw aPA Hallthe other day that had an extremely high access fee. (BTW, what is the max access fee you can set?)

I went inside after paying this enormous fee to look around. Behold! I found a vendor inside with tons of items listed at 1 credit each. I think the vendor is trying to bankrupt the owner!

Well, there are a couple of thoughts on this. I paid the enormous access fee, so I should be able to buy what I want off the vendor, right? No, I'm not that cheesy.

I figured he was using the vendor for storage. But then again, he's probably added his guildmates to the admin list to the structure so they can get in for free and get items off of it whenever they need.

I'm going to warn this person that he is setting himself up for somebody that's more likely to take advantage of the situation. I'm looking for suggestions on any better ways that he can allow his guildmates to get to items and keep others out. He had over 300 items on the vendor, so I don't think he's going to see the light in just leaving the items laying around.

Any suggestions?

Many guilds do this. If you have a large guild it can be a valuable tool. We are always getting loot, or other items you wish to share with the guild and not enough places to store them all. It used to be better when we could set the access fee to a large amount (9999999) or something like it.

Other people find better ways to distribute these items, but this is one of the best ways available.

I had this happen to me once, and I pleaded with the individual to return the items, and they wouldn't. This was my fault and I sucked it up. I just ask you to leave the vendor alone, knowing it's not for the general public.

No need to ask me. However, it is available for the general public. Anyone that walks in must pay an access fee. So, theyDO get rights to purchase from the vendor. I mean after all, they did pay 50,000 credits to go inside.

I'm just playing the other side of the argument. There is nothing illegal about cleaning out their vendor.

I'm still asking for alternative solutions to recommend.

I can only think of one - having everyone on admin in the guild hall so they can just drop and pick up what they want.

I think I am confused. If the guild hall is made a private structure vs. a public one....then only guild members can get into the hall. All others just see the red door effect. So if a vendor is in a guild hall that is marked private. Then only guild members would be able to get access the vendor. So no need for the huge access fees and no worries about people being honest. Seems to solve all the issues.

The piece you are missing is that you can't put a vendor in a private strucutre. The structure has to be public to have a vendor in it.

I saw a topic a short while back but cannot find it again. Looking for info on placing a vendor inside a guild hall. Is this possible or must the building be totally public? Or can you make the hall temporarly public to place the vendor, and then back to restricted access? Any info would help.

A structure cannot be made private if there is a vendor in it. Placing a vendor (I'm a little fuzzy here) either requires the structure to be public to begin with, or will set the structure to public when you place the vendor.

Kinda stinks, cause I would love to have a guild-only vendor too.

I have a guild only vendor, and it's far easier than people may think to accomplish. I placed it in my personal house, and never registered it with planetary map. Also never enabled ad barking.

Since only Guild members know of it's existence, only Guild members can make purchases - After all, do you go through each house on the map HOPING to find a vendor, or do you go where one has been advertised?
