Thread: Vendors giving up sales after a week -make your thoughts known
i lost about a million credits worth of merch...i got tired of going to restock 3 or moe times a week and was waiting until a thursday night to get everything stiocked at once for the weekend..it literally takes me an hour or more just to restock items..sometimes its the only thing i do when i log in because of lag it wastes all my game time
evidently i was a few hours late as everthing in the vendor poofed....sadly it was my structure/furniture vendor, so it can not be replaced easily....
ATLEAST WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO SEE DATES ON THE SALES
I am a master merchant, not only do I have a store in my hometown, keren, I have 3 vendors in 3 different towns on different planets.
It would make my life ALOT easier if I did not have to pay, or worry about:
1. Vendors puking my items out after a week in to the stockroom
a. the stockroom EATING my items before I can get them restocked
2. Planetary advertising worked so I don't have to log on in the morning
and spend hours going from planet to planet, store to store re-registering them.
3. If THOSE two things would be fixed (not to mention vendors just screwing up and not giving my clients their ordres).....I would actually consider being a full time merchant, buying in bulk from other crafters and being a REAL merchant instead of a half azzed one. I would divide up my play time and go to a different store every other day, and REALLY spend some quality time filling the vendor, getting new stuff making new stuff etc.
Because of the time I spend traveling, I cannot do much of anything else on this game, I have little time to tailor, NO time to explore new planets, build relationships with other crafters or even spend quality time with my friends in my guild.
Merchants are basically slaves to the vendors, where is my chain and collar, I feel like I need to wear it on this game.

Merchant vendors should not give up sales after 7 days. I know the Dev's are worried about "database clutter" and all, but I'd rather have a limit to the number of items on a given vendor at once than have to keep going back to resell the items after 7 days. I sell high-ticket architect deeds from my partner, and these things don't move all that quickly so I spend a lot of time re-listing them.
The 7 day thing is what is keeping me from having Vendors on each of the civilized planets.
I really dislike this feature and wish it would be changed for placed vendors only, not bazaar.
The idea is to clear forgotten items out of the dbase. This feature, applied to player vendors, does not accomplish this end. It merely means that I have to check in once a week to make sure everything is ok. That's fine but there will be times when I can't play every day,or possibly a week or more, nor should I be expected to just because I want to run a cantina or shop or whatever my RP fun is. If I happen to be on vacation, I'm likely to not only miss the sales, thus clearing the dbase, and possibly even having them disappear from my stock room, really clearing the dbase.
Neither of these do I like.
There are several ways to address this and I am certain they have all been thought of by the team, or will be, if they address this but here's some fast thoughts:
-Leave merchandise for sale longer, for a fee.
-Tie the time extension to the Efficiency line. Each level equals x more time.
-Increase the vendor costs (or make it work I guess), having the merchant pull fees off of the sale.
Its simple. as long as I pay for vendor maint, anything I put there should stay there. No timeout.
The best thing would be for vendor items to just plain not expire, but if it's felt that merchants still need to be punished, could we at the very least have something to make the punishment slightly less onerous, like allowing us to relist things at a price that defaults to what it was before?
