Thread: *sarcasm* Thanks for the merchant nerf, so much for resource sales...

I rarely post, but this is utter cr*p.

This merchant nerf will make it nearly impossible, if not highly inconvennient, to run an effective resource sales business. WAY TO GO GUYS!

Since I have my resource biz in a tent, I'll be forced to crowd a dozen tiny vendors in there for each different type of resource. And then manage all of them... AND, since I have lots of stock, I'll be forced to increase the minimum amount of resources you can buy at a time. So... John Q Noob will be forced to buy 10000 units of ore just so he can make his crafting tool?! that's just stupid.

And the whole thing about Database usage?! HA! Baad excuse guys. I write enterprise apps for a living in real life, that's a false issue, don 't blame the DB.

The *real* reason, which I totally agree with, for getting rid of unlimited vendors is so some guy won't get biz 3, and then drop a vendor in his house and use it as a bottomless locker. Repeat, I totally agree with this. In order to have vendors you should have the skills. I have no problem with people using vendors as lockers as long as they have Biz 3. That's a nice 24 skill points at least, and no one would spend that unless they were a crafty type.

So this current fix is a dev attempt to do... well... who knows what? Play federal reserve and throw wrenches into an economy? regardless, I'm pretty much screwed in this transaction.

Any other resourcers got solutions to this problem being foisted upon us?

You're a page behind..the current settings don't require you to have any additional vendors. All item limits are per merchant not per vendor.

I personally am overjoyed with the changes. You can place all your stock on 1 vendor, but the cap is increased by the skills, so if you only have bus3 vendor, it's 100 items... time to buck up and invest in more skills to raise that cap limit.

Seems to me though that you already have higher merchant skills which should give you a higher cap, since if you can place more vendors, you already have that higher cap, which can all go on one vendor... but you aren't that clear.

I'm ecstatic at being able to have 12 or so vendors. That change alone will probably save me from having to buy a new account... and I do have a master combat skill too.

John Q Noob should be using the mineral survey tool he was given when he started artisan to survey for some ore, and sampling it to get surveying XP, in order to make his crafting tool. Not buying resources from you, or anyone else.

Artisan is designed so that once you have sampled enough materials to craft the items needed to gain a branch or two, you will have enough survey XP to gain the surveying branch.

Help us fight for a change to allow per unit sales off of stacks. This is the sort of change that benefits both the merchant (can stock in large stacks/crates) and the buyer (can buy the exact quantity they want).

As primarily a resource vendor, that would make my life SOO easy! Just be able to load up large stacks of resources and then have people draw what they want. It'd be even cooler if you could set the base quantity, so, for example, I could load a stack of 100k steel and set the minimum buy qty to 1000.

Oooo *drool*... soooo nice.
