Thread: *sarcasm* Thanks for the merchant nerf, so much for resource sales...

As a Master Merchant/Master Doctor I don't want people to be able to buy the amount they want from a stack I put up. Whilst I can see for some professions it would be nice I would require the ability to turn it off. I sell in crates, maximum allowed so people who buy use less inventory space, you want less email me and I'll do it but don't allow a buyer to mess up my selling point to my loyal customers.

Part of my suggestion to improve 'merchant', which - btw also serves a really nice function for NONmerchant is a buyer's bazaare.

Seller's have means of buying - no one has any means of offering to buy.

Much like a normal vendor or the bazaare - but with offers to buy instead of sell, funded with the offer price so transactions are instantly funded.

You need 100k of cooper, with a min quality? You make a list on this bazaar that should have a drilldown menu (like the seller's SHOULD have), options for quality on resources - offer price per unit. You fund it and folks check it and sell to you if the offer is acceptable and they happen to have what you need. Other items might be a bit complex in a system such as this - too many variables- but I think this should work well for resources since there are set categories and set statistics.

Right now - the economic system is pretty one sided.

Ya know, its funny. I hear people complaining that they won't have small stacks of resources to sell to Little_Johnny_Artisangrinder_001, but every single "Resourve Vendor" I've visited has almost NOTHING in quantities over 10,000.

I mean, I'm looking to buy 300k units of ore, minimum. I just want to find someone that stocks large amounts There are plenty of people not moving resources because they aren't stacked.

If you see something on a vendor that you would like in a larger quanity is it too hard to send that vendor owner an email asking for it?

I am a resource merchant on Wanderhome. I have 2 Vendors. One is name Organic...the other is named Inorganic. The name speak for themselves. I sell everything in 100k stacks (except for the odds and ends or the end of the spawn). I have pretty good sales but it does make me wonder. Since I focus on high quality (as opposed to grind quality) resources, my stacks are fairly high priced. The only people that can afford them are well established Masters. Isn't this just contributing to the whole "Rich get richer, poor get poorer" problem that exists on most servers?

This game wasnt designed for someone to do cross server trades and have 200-400 harvesters. This game wasnt designed for someone to have so much resources as some do on many servers. So actually- yes thank you merchant "nerf" if thats what you want to call it.

Or buying a 500 unit or 1k stack of the bazaar for cheap...

Oh I so agree Felton.

Dissolve the Bazaar! Stop giving free vendor services to the masses!

And make Master Merchant more useful. No vendors for anything below Master merchant except for 1 that holds 50 items. Once you get to master, you get 20 vendors, total of 10000 items. The current merchant skills are just too useful to also give vendors on top of the other skills.

If I've got the qty, I sell in stacks of 20k and 50k and 100k. 20k is most common for me, though. Check out BjornCo resources and ingredients.

Yes it is. It's not my job to ask what they have in stock for sale. It's the ole 'it's not going to sell itself setting in the back room' thing. IMO, if the person doesnt have it on their vendor, then they dont have it. I'll go somewhere else or do without. I'm not going to send an email to someone that I'm looking for 300k of something when all they have are 2 10k stacks. Plus usually the replies you get are either 'If it's not on the vendor I dont have it', or 'Sure I've got that, meet me here and the price is xxx, xxx.' Which sounds great.. Except you get that email days later after you found it somewhere else, you reply to them, then they reply back something about wasting their time asking for something that you werent going to buy anyway.
