What the Bird Dog Hell does this mean?

"Because you failed to pick it up in time, the "Flora Survey Tool - 57%, 4-26-04" that you were auctioning has expired."

I got dozens of emails regarding this and a number of other items today.

And I checked the Vendor, and sure enough, there's none there in my stockroom, in which I had left things that had run out of time in sales. But only for a week or so, until I could catch my breath and relist everything that I had put up at one time.

Where does it tell us we have a certain amount of time to pick things up or resell them in the vendor?

My guildmate (and IRL wife) is losing dozens of high dollar items to the same thing. Everything that comes up expired is completely disappearing.

I sincerely hope this is a bug, because if it is not, it could very well be the straw to break the camel's back. I really used to enjoy this game, but if this type of thing doesn't end it may be time to move on.

No, this is working as intended.

If an item doesn't sell in 30 days it goes off sale and returns to the stockroom.

An item in the stockroom is deleted once they have been in there for 7 days.

I have been wondering about these emails 'your item as expired' too, i seem to get at least one a day for the past week.

I have read the comments above and believe that is how it should work. However i have 5 vendors and over 600 items on sale. Therefore on a daily basis i get some items that are 'unsuccessful' and have come off the vendor and go into the storeroom. However this also means I clear the vendors storeroom on a daily basis.

So why would i get a email msg like this? If I clear it ever day there should never be a item on there for long enough to be deleted from the storeroom

Either the Storeroom is not listing the items correctly or there is some other bug?

I got them too, I'm convinced that it's from someone who bought something and forgot to retrieve it. It happened to me with something that I sell a lot, and that was still on the vendor after I got that message. We still shouldn't get a message though.

fwiw I've asked for clarification on this email and an explanation of why it was added in the first place. It seems like a waste of cpu cycles to me to inform us after the fact that items have been deleted.

Maybe that is it. I got one of these yesterday for a small item. It seemed odd to me becuase if anything is in my stockroom for more than a day, it's intentional that I want it gone. I had recentlyrestocked my vendors with any item that was just "Auction Unsuccessful" and I'm positive that my stockroom was empty when I got this mail.

I just got bit by this for the first time as I have been playing less over the summer. I can understand the reason items need to expirefrom the game, but only giving me a week to respond is pretty harsh. Sending me an email saying they have beendeletedis simply an insult.

Before you flame me, there is so much to know in this game - and expecting people to come to the boards to read about every rule for every profession is a little unrealistic (especially if you are in an elite crafting profession and you spend most of your time on those boards). It would never have occurred to me to even ask someone in game if my items would disappear - fair warning would have been nice.Three weeks in the stock room with at least one message stating that my items will be deleted from the game prior to it actually happening would be great.

Yeah, it seemed to me that before any of this happened items in storage went "poof" after 30 days. So 30 days on vendor, 30 days in stockroom and then bye-bye.

I logged in today to see that some very good items had "expired" because I didn't pick them up in 7 days. I just about flew through the roof! If this is how it's going to be then I will probably drop my merchant and artisan skills, close my vendors and either start another profession or just stop playing altogether. It is totally unreasonable to expect to have a merchant, with thousands of items spread across vendors on almost every planet, to keep up with her/his stockroom. Sometimes we need a break from the game that might last a week or more... it's totally unfair to force us to login for hours at a time just so our items don't get destroyed!

If it is the case that those emails mean someone else forgot to retrieve items from my vendors then that's okay... someone just let me know. But I kinda have the feeling that it's not the case. I may end up another SWG casualty if this is not fixed and my items not returned (or proper compensation given).

Something wonky is happening Doc. I got 3 more of these emails and I check my storeroom everyday. The strange this is, it doesn't look like I lost the items they claim expired. I'm going to do an inventory to find out.

Either way though, how can something expire when its not in my stockroom in first place - something is wrong.

It was never 30 and 30. Originally it was 7 and 7 (and let me tell you, that was a pain!), and then it was pushed to 30 days for an auction, but the items expiring from the stockroom has always been 7 days. What's new is the email alerting people to the fact.

It should be obviously why they send an email saying that an item have expired. It is to save on all the caned automated CSR responses. All the players that create a ticket when an item in the stockroom expires and get deleted because they think it is a bug.
